There are many sources of styrene available for cheap. Plastic eating utensils, plastic "For Sale" signs, old credit/debit/ATM cards. Sprue from the kit is right there and the same plastic. G

A supercharged engine will still require a cooling system. They are independent of each other. G ps

I was gonna say tall and leggy, but then, well you know.......... G

I got it painted, but had to clean up the bench for a bit. I'll be working more in a week or so. I am also planning another Lindbergh Dodge Charger police car, this one with a twist. Oh and there's a problem with a "bong and a workbench"? G

yes Libertyville! I'm on some good pain meds for the knee, and all I see are ponies and rainbows. G

Quite frankly when "the boys" were in charge things were vastly different. Oh make no mistake about it, it was a tough industry, but..... Customer service was 1000% better. You worked hard "they" took care of you. Good Dealers had the respect of the owners. Money, the boys wanted it, and realized the best way was to get it from gamblers. So, absolutely straight games, NO hanky panky, not ever a rumor of cheating. Straight casinos mean a good reputation, more tourists and money! Oh and DO NOT get caught cheating, EVER, it'll hurt, badly, for a long long time. This was a small town for decades. Everyone knew everyone else. NO one locked their doors. Like Buggsy said once, we only kill each other....... This was a great place once. "Family Oriented" Las Vegas sucked, and it never quite bounced back. G

Oh the thoughts I am having...................... Springfield huh? I spent a week there one night. I was a suburb dweller who moved to the city. When I started on the PD, we had a residency requirement. Naturally, just before retirement, 28 years later, they relaxed the rule and I could move anywhere. So I did, I moved to Las Vegas! Fooled them In laws are in Antioch, BIL manages the Ford dealership in Liberty Bell. Small frickin world huh? G

I got this kit in a raffle back in November. Armored cars are not usually my thing, so it sat until a "What If?" group build started on Armorama. I decided on a local defense force vehicle patrolling the area around Hoover Dam, hence the desert camo. I scratch built the radar, and large radio antenna. I used some Plastruct sheet to depict add on armor on the sides. I used MM Acryl Israeli Sand Gray, Field Drab, Sand and Gunmetal for the camoflage. I'm not liking the MM Acryl for detail work. It clogs my airbrush too quickly and forced me to add all sorts of things to keep the paint flowing. We have had 100+ temps and NO humidity here all week. Frickin' paint dried in the AB cup! G

I think it has more of a big brother to the Impala look . Now that you mentioned Cobalt, well, that works too. We had a fleet services division so while a bill, per se, was never there, I'm sure the powers that be lost their collective minds every day. G

To be exact it is Plastruct sheet #91541. It is a 1.4mm square tile pattern made for HO scale RR purposes. I believe it would make a great interior pattern. That's the beauty of a what if build, Legos, or whatever, it's all good! Jim, it'll get a 90mm cannon, a coaxial FN Mag 58, and another Mag 58 on the commander's cupola. G

Not necessary really, for me it was a great way to clean up the black paint I used on the radio and instrument insert. (cheat, in other words) G -
I'm working on an armored car for a "what if" sci-fi build on another forum. Everything other than gray plastic is scratch built. G

Yes it does, however we are the "Men's Department" of the Navy. As soon as we perfect walking on water we won't need those pesky ships. G -
What kits can I use for a Chevy Celebrity?

Charlie the CHiP's test all sorts of makes and models every year. They test them in Sacramento in their facility, then send them out to the Highway Patrolmen. The vehicles go to all parts of the state so their performance can be evaluated in different enviornments, desert, mountains, coast etc. James, I will admit the car did perform well for our purposes. That did come out nice. You paid attention to the details after those web sites didn't you? In all honesty two things regarding trim levels. Chrome: That has all the chrome Crown Vics I ever drove had. Door guards in black: Just 'cause they were ordered in black doesn't mean they were all delivered that way. The first CV's we recieved of that model year had 60/40 split bench front seats and we ordered buckets. One nit. The dash board had a brown imitation wood strip dividing the top half and the bottom half. Every CV of this model I drove had this interior strip. You wouldn't have known that though! *edit* Here's what I'm talking about. G -

Admirals are considered "flag rank", therefore the equal of a General Officer in the Army or Air Force. They are not the equal of any United States Marine Corps Officer. Semper Fidelis G -

That's what I was thinking after a few posts. As far as that burning smell, well that's me thinking........ Terry, we always rode two man as much as possible. I never worked anything but tough neighborhoods. It was nice having 15-20 policemen 2 minutes away when we got into trouble. Nowadays the kids get kicked loose and put into one man cars. Yeah, we lost one right after I retired. Kid had just under a year on and was shot in an alley. G -
Everyone is scrambling now that the CVPI is gone. The Caprice looks promising, but if I recall correctly, it has something like eight variants/option packages. That boys and girls, is a bean counters wet dream. Unfortunately the street cops will probably have little say in the matter. The cheaper the better, as long as it meets department requirements. FWD cars are, well lets say, unsuited for police work. Oh I have driven quite a few, including the previously mentioned fart blossom Taurus. The worst, and I mean worst, was that darn FWD Implala. Evil, evil little POS. Fine detective ride, though it sucked as a front line scout car. Tahoes are cool, but expensive as all get out. See above comment referring to bean counters. I have driven a few Chargers, had an '11 as a rental back in the 'Lou in April. Traffic coppers say the hemi will flat out sh&* and git on the freeway. Don't know about maintainence issues, see bean counter comment above. G

Kind of interesting really, but in 32 years of police work I never used a 10 code. We never adopted that and just spoke plain english on the radio. Of course "send help" needed no translation. G
