  1. Ron nothing beats a multi barrelled mini gun. Here's where I'm at as far as the bed of the truck. I felt the gas cap and the tank needed some protection. Some armor for the gun crew as well. The crew will ride in the cab until the weapon is needed. Weight distribution prevents serious armor on the bed. The gun balances the extra weight of the cab armor. Or am I over thinking this way too much............................ G
  2. In my opinion, yes. It doesn't dry as fast, so the finish is super smooth. Not all laquer thinners are compatible. I use "Klean Strip" medium drying Laquer Thinner from Home Depot. G
  3. Each one is practice for the next. Push, push, push that frikkin' envelope. G
  4. Made some progress today. Even a scout vehicle needs some firepower. G
  5. As do I, those are wonderful kits. G
  6. Actually cheap laquer thinner for both. Tamiya's own Laquer Thinner is great for their acrylic paint, but is still nowhere to be be found. It's also expensive. G
  7. Maybe not, but he'll sneak up behind you and piddle on your shoe...................................... G
  8. Modelhaus has the resin Suburban kit. It's the older 79-89 body style. G
  9. Wait, uh wait a minute, Bill, is that what it's supposed to look like? That's a 1949 Mercury? Who knew? Slick build there. G
  10. Very, very nice. G
  11. Doctor I think I will participate in this one. I work Saturdays until 4:30pm so I might need a bit of leeway if possible. G
  12. Ya darn tootin' Virgil! I have broken bones in my right hand five times already, and man can I feel it. I truly think model building has kept me going. It looked as if I was going to be "retired" on the last one. I had to shoot a qualifying score, otherwise it was gonna be adios. I managed to pull it off with a better than minimum score. I credit that to my building, painting, and sculpting. I bought some more styrene shapes today and, after work, plan to renew the build. G
  13. Ditto X2 At my age I cannot see a frikkin thing anyway so I always cut them on the long side and sand to fit. I will use a popsicle stick to guage the thickness of the "bolts" while sanding. I cut it to fit, then lay it down next to the hex pieces I sand down to the stick and hope for the best! G
  14. The current wife discovered my hobby early on in our courtship. She told her sisters, and later told me, that, "she'd rather have me sitting at the breakfast bar building a model, than sitting in a bar hitting on one." Ya gotta luv the gal. G
  15. Very good young man, very good. I will also mention helmets, and safety. We want you around for a bit. G
  16. First three wives, yes. The saint I'm married to now, no. G
  17. I had an ex who actually waited for me to finish a build, then would deliberately break it. Tyler, While a serious mishap, I too see the potential. Stuff happens, roll with it. G
  18. I know Jonathan had a few name in mind whilst writing this one............................ I love it Dude. G
  19. I just saw this, it looks exciting. Keep posting, but maybe this should be in the "Works in Progress" section. G
  20. I'm game. Where can we get MFP decals? G
  21. No armbands in combat ever. In fact those were worn by political party members only. In Africa they wore a cuff band on the left sleeve which said "Afrika", or early on, "Afrika Korps". G
  22. Hey that's "01" on the turret.........................in Hebrew . Chris I've seen a few builds with that French turret. As soon as I find one I'm building that conversion as well. G
