  1. Hey Andy - wanna make an official 'under glass' thread for this build in the under glass section?
  2. here's the latest i got on my 57 chevy - it wasn't done at the start of the build.. i had it painted and some of the interior done. Anyways, here's an update.
  3. picked up the 68 dodge dart recently, 75 duster funny car, 55 chevy hardtop 2n1, 70 challenger, and a couple 32 3-window and 5-windows. picked up a food dehydrator to help with paint curing.
  4. well then there'll be a couple darts! mine will definitely be a little more than out of box though
  5. count me in. 68 dodge dart, ed big daddy roth's outlaw, 57 chevy.
  6. sadly the kit doesn't come with a motor. i could have done a motor, but wanted to get it off my bench and call it done. thanks for the comments everybody.
  7. final pics thanks for looking!
  8. I'm finally done with the Xanavi R34 skyline! I just picked up sand paper and used elmer's glue to glue it to the base. The model is glued to the base as well. This was a gift from my sister, and it was really really fun!!! Enjoy!
  9. thanks everybody for the kind words! I really had a lot of fun building this up. It's original intent was for Blake's post apocalypse build, but my time line was way off, so the club's "winter effects" build-off made this model a perfect candidate. the cab isn't drafty! it's got a handy super crazy space continuum modulating heater core. the cold air offsets the heater when i got done with the truck itself, for SOME reason it looked incomplete, which is when i decided that a snowy muddy base was appropriate. once i finished it today, it was confirmed - it seems as though the base and the model together look.. complete? Either way, i'm glad you all enjoyed it!
  10. to continue..
  11. Take the Lindberg Dodge Rammunition chassis, flat styrene sheets, styrene rods, some 1/35 scale weapons, and a club 'winter effects build' theme, and this is what you get. a fantasy-ish post apocalypse weapon of destruction. and fun. it's my first time (with help from a buddy) doing a diorama. I just needed him to show me how to lay down some ground work. all weathering and snow, etc, was done by me.
  12. good! i'm glad to see there's some interest in this. to answer some concerns: i agree, some of the criteria is vague. i believe that the best option is looking through the results from their website. i'll make an amendment to the rules of the original post.
  13. Alright, i just picked up the revell McEwen 75 plymouth duster funny car.. i want to get a ross gibson engine for it, but i don't want to get something that won't fit or doesn't look right. http://www.detailmaster.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=detailmaster&Category_Code=RGE i want it to fit without having to modify the body. if i go too tall, then the driver won't be able to see over the blower. Too small and it just won't look right. help! i guess if i have to go box stock on it, then so be it.
  14. going against the grain on this and saying model.
  15. i sent you funds for the turbo's i ordered. Don't worry about rushing it or anything. I will also be looking at possibly getting some superchargers for some other projects at a later time.
  16. This is to congratulate both Blake and Patti on their new baby boy!
  17. Alright, so i have been thinking about what would be a really fun build, and came to the conclusion that the build idea would also be a VERY fun community build event. With that said, fellow modelers, i have come up with a grand idea! The 24 hours of lemons!! Just what is the 24 hours of lemons? You take a 4 wheeled vehicle, do some absolutely ridiculous body modifications to it, and you race it on the track!! Their website states the following: The 24 Hours of LeMons is restricted to cars that were purchased, fixed up, and track-prepped for a total of $500 or less. Here are some fine examples of what some of the cars look like: The rules are as follows: 1. four-wheeled vehicles 2. painstakingly obvious markings where the tow hooks are. such an example: 3. full roll cage 4. only one seat (for the driver) 5. post up pics of progress here. 6. have fun!!!!! here's a link to cars that have raced the lemons. keep in mind the $500 budget did NOT include safety gear, like the roll cage, extinguisher, seat, etc. so that should make it a little easier to find a subject. http://jalopnik.com/5480659/the-top-122-lemons-of-the-24-hours-of-lemons-texas/gallery Just use your common judgment and make it look like a $500 or less car. The object of the race is to go as long as you can without breaking down. I haven't determined a deadline yet, but will likely go with the June/July time frame. Let's see whatcha got! IN: myself carl jason peter sven
  18. alright got a little bit more done with this.. the camouflage is done (ended up hand painting it, as it was faster, and it dried without brush strokes). winter netting is over the back as well. to do: another weapon on the rear tripod, sheet metal front "blades", detail painting, headlights, fog lights, and exhaust weathering/washes. i hope to get this wrapped up pretty soon. once i get the rear weapon done, it should be smooth sailing.
  19. gotta grab some more carbon fiber, then finish the spoiler. then it's a matter of making a diorama!
  20. decals are done for the most part. to do: windows window trim hood pins trunk pins spoiler paint/decal a couple more coats of clear wet sand to perfection to be replaced: headlight covers lost a side mirror due to carpet eating it. a couple decals (headlights, front 'bridgestone')
  21. This is going to be my supra build.. came as a hard top, converted to targa top. nitrous. engine in super rough phase. the plan is to build it up like it's got 1000hp or something.. also will be customizing the hood and going for a custom wide body kit for it.
  22. the chassis is 98% done. The front of the undercarriage needs to be touched up to make it look nicer than the wrinkles. The body work was done, PE parts replaced body parts, primed and painted tamiya gloss aluminum and italian red. so this weekend will be spent mostly on decals. the final stages!
  23. ok, THAT is outstanding work...
  24. you are correct about the tires. nice build otherwise.
