  1. 7 of the top 10 "most American cars" are Toyota and Honda. If one side of an argument is based on complete ignorance, is it still a debate?
  2. Here is one - I didn't get any real good shots, I guess. Seats are carbon fiber race seats with PIA PE belts...
  3. If you haven't seen this model being built: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53895&page=23 You're missing out. Near the end, Shawn has created sheepskin seat covers. They look quite nice.
  4. Unbelievable kits. Tiny 1/32 scale cars, but the molding is probably the finest I have ever seen. There are parts literally the thickness of a fingerprint ridge.
  5. I like it.
  6. Great looking model!
  7. Great input Dave - I really appreciate your post. I have no clue how the model companies operate, so I am intrigued at any tidbit.
  8. The Grim Reaper called. Your car's ready
  9. I ordered some about three weeks ago - took them awhile to ship and I'm in Florida until the 23rd...should be waiting for me upon my return.
  10. There is a 1930 J at the LeMay museum in Tacoma, WA - without a doubt THE highlight of the collection. Unbelievably beautiful car. The size and scale of are beyond impressive - something pictures cannot purvey. I think it was listed as $20,000 in 1930. Another unbelievable factor... Another kit I will enjoy seeing built.
  11. Blockage would only be from the buyer - a way to "ignore" more or less. Same as if someone on a forum is annoying... The reason I would use it is I sometimes just browse the whole kit and kaboodle - I just like finding oddball stuff Ive not seen much before - so specific search terms wouldn't help. How do you search for something you don't know exists? Some of the sellers list hundreds of items at once, which is fine. And it's not going to kill me to scroll through them in a browsing mode...but if I could exclude one seller at on my own discretion I wouldn't have to look at things I know I don't want to. Overall, my life will be no different either way, but I've thought about the same thing the OP did...
  12. I would like it. Sellers would hate it. So, does eBay need more sellers or more buyers?? I, obviously, have no way of knowing how much money eBay makes on these sellers vs how much they loose on "browsers" like myself because I get tired of looking at 400 nascar decals or a complete, readily available kit for sale piece by piece...
  13. Welcome, from the other side of the state.
  14. I would love this feature. I could leave out a couple parts sellers and ALL THOSE NASCAR DECALS!!!
  15. Good deal is relevant, too. If you are looking for newer release kits, Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon. Of course, if the models are on sale already, you can't use it. If there is no Hobby Lobby near you, obviously, that doesn't help. Hobby Lobby also has clearance models. You can troll ebay and wait for a good price. Check buy-it-now prices of the kit you're looking for and wait until you find the price you want. Some sellers will even ship free with certain purchases. Amazon. Yes, they sell models. The prices are all over the place, but, again, keep looking. If you have a Prime membership, you can get items shipped "free". I have purchased a few kits on Amazon for good prices - they even have international sellers so some kits you can't always find here for cheap (Tamiya). Google machine. Use the shopping feature. Again, takes time to search. Craigslist is mostly a waste - unless you want half built, dusty, "RARE" models you can buy at Hobby Lobby brand new for the same price. It really depends on what kit you're looking for and why. Parts kit? Out of produvtion kit? Common kit? Foreign kit? Just any cheap kit? Or...just know exactly what you want and buy it and save yourself the time of looking around a lot and build
  16. That's about the going price... IF I was into Firebirds, I would have no problem giving you $125. Of course, you could sell it for more, that's where I would stop. IF I was a collector of things and really loves Firebirds, I would give you about $186.69 - if the box is perfect and all the parts are clean and in good condition.
  17. That is nice. First thing that grabbed me was the "glass". Nice work.
  18. Very nice. You are almost convincing me to try some of those old cars...
  19. I agree Rob. There were some great models built in the competition this year, and a lot of the voters don't always know what's gone into a model and why, unless they follow the building thread. Great work everyone. 2015 is going to be an even better year...
  20. Thanks to all for the comments. I had a lot of fun in the Community Project this year but am REALLY looking forward to 2015! I hope to see as many quality models in the Sleeperball as we had this year!
  21. That kits pretty decent - body proportions and such look good. It is very simple and the "glass" leaves a lot to be desired. I don't know if the Ventura was ever reissued?
  22. X2. Fresher too.
  23. Those are later Capri II. Only first gen Capri are 1-24 motorized version and 1/32 Airfix.
  24. I agree on it being a cool car and popular on the day. Definitely a missed opportunity because I don't think it would sell too many kits now - but back in the day? I can't remember the last time I saw ANY capris on the road, let alone a first gen.
