  1. You hit it Tom. It's the same phenomena when your selling and buying - a buyer is like, what? No way I'd pay that much. Seller? What? You want it for free? Kind of like driving - everybody slower is an idiot, everybody faster is a maniac. I said it before, $1500 is a lot for some, not so much for others. Take a drive on the Nice side of town - do you see houses that quadruple yours? Two, three, maybe four luxury cars in the driveway? Yeah, there are actually rich people out there folks.
  2. I didn't measure either one I had, but it's definitely not this I think the Italeri version is a modified reissue of the ESCI. I could be wrong.
  3. $1500 is a lot to some people, not much to others.
  4. I like those Fairlanes. Engine bay is a tight fit with the FE - especially once you get the front end on. Ground clearance under is limited too. I would test fit the grill to the body prior to getting too far - the two I've built both had some issue there and with the top of the windshield.
  5. Yup. Keep sanding and applying glue until it ghosts no more. Some take one or two, some more.
  6. Unfortunately insurance rates are based on everybody's driving abilities, not just your own. I have a teenage driver. Insurance is no fun, unless you need it. Congrats on passing!
  7. To my knowledge there has never been a short body version in 1/24. I think there is a 1/20 scale.
  8. Here is one version of their Landcruiser kits. I just sold this one - but it's a cool kit. I think it's been modified and released by Italeri. There were a few versions...
  9. They did a few really cool kits including some Toyota Land Cruiser Taxis and a few version of the Ford Escorts. I don't know if any were thier actual toolings modified issues or what...
  10. "Sleepy" is subjective, so the base could really be anything. A 1970 Camaro with ugly biege paint, no spoilers, riding low in the rear, a bit of rust...could be sleeper with a 700 hp power plant. Join, build, have fun.
  11. It's all good with me. Like Niko says, I am just glad this CBP gave me the motivation to build something I wouldn't normally build and, most importantly, finsh it. It's all fun. I'll send a link my cannonballer when I dig it up...
  12. AMT Subaru Brat on a Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 chassis?
  13. Exactly - a Pacer kit might sell to a couple Pacer fans, BUT a Wayne's World Pacer - back when it was popular - would've sold to Pacer fans AND movie fans. That's the point of movie tie ins. AMT released the Eddie Murphy Nova - after nobody remembers the movie...little late!
  14. Not sure if it's the angle or those are small ladies, but that car looks big. Should be a neat piece.
  15. Works fine for me on iMac, iphone, etc.
  16. Awesome work. Beautiful model - better than the real thing. Sooooo liking the 6.
  17. Probably a lot cheaper to send you a new unit then pay somebody to fix the defective - thus quick turn around. Good customer service IS something to commend.
  18. X2. Very good seller - good prices - cheap shipping, same as USPS priority - usually 2.5 weeks. No additional fees.
  19. That is a cool looking model. Great paint. I think "really old" is relative though... Excellent work.
  20. I used to be big into woodworking. Then I got my first commissioned piece. They told me what they wanted. I built it and hated most of it because I was making somebody else's vision, not mine. I burned out quick because I wanted the control and freedom of the "art" aspect, not just the technical "how". Same for me with models - it's all in the design - color choices, textures, etc - that I like to envision then convert to reality. That's where value and art collide - if you produce something you want that other people like and value, your art is "worth" something. Producing a replica of somebody else's vision isn't so much art...more of a job.
