  4. A member here has decided to join in a help support the disabled builders group I started with a donation of some kits, supplies, etc.he is sending. He has my deepest thanks and appreciation for his kindness...a great guy to help out or even want to in the first place. Thank you!
  5. Me I am a 350ci guy one can build or do about anything with them if desired...327ci many were performance use better heads,etc.models(68 Impala 300hp 327 for instance)...they ran very well in a heavy car. Vintage 1974 350ci engines from pickups, suburbans, etc. most had 4 bolt main barring caps and bored 0.30 over sized made a 355ci which was a great power combination with a mild or large cam.
  6. That is true Harry....its nice to know in this dog eat dog world there is still some great kind people out there still that can think of others much less fortunate than themselves...and still they have no real clue just how much their help means to others that need it so much. Great people.
  7. A member here has decided to donate a few kits and some parts to the disabled builders group in my area....he has my thanks for his kindness and the much needed donations its very very much appreciated! Thanks! Mark
  8. I have been wanting to build a replica of my mid 70s Dodge factory custom van I once owned for years....just have to find one and a bunch of the exterior and interior goodies then. Seeing this makes the fire even hotter to build it.
  9. Agreed Carl....not everyone has the time or resources or skills yet to do many things they would to improve their work building. Another issue is some are disabled or have physical issues that can keep them from doing many of these ideas to improve their work even though they would if they could. My suggestion to improving ones work and builds is its not a race take your time...the build only has to make the builder happy in essence. Me I strive to build better as I can...best advise I ever got is to treat every part as if it were a model itself.
  10. I too love the long bodied cars of the 60s through 70s era but also love horse power...for me these would be great... 69-72 Grand Prix 66-70 Bonneville 70-76 Trans Am/Firebird 70-74 GTO 66-70 Cadillac 64-72 Oldsmobile big or small body 71 Mercury Cyclone 65-70 Mercury Parklane, etc. 67-70 AMC Ambassador,Rebel,SST,71-74 AMX,70-74 Hornet 64-70 Chrysler 300,Newport,New Yorker,Imperial 62-70 Buick Skylark,Lesaber,Electra,Wildcat 65-70 Plymouth Monaco,Fury,Cuda, 66-69 Impala,Caprice 69-70 Plymouth Superbird,Daytona,GTX,RR 68-70 Lincoln 67,68 Ford Galaxie 70-72 Torino 65-72 Dodge Polara,Demon There is just too many to chose from...many big or luxury cars had good performance levels too.
  11. NICE....! I have a pair or those cars both missing hoods.
  12. Nice Monte Carlo and crew...! I have the same 71 but mine has the custom hood...
  13. Welcome John.... I too have a body that is on strike...wish I could help you.
  14. Yesterday I picked up a damaged 66 Fury HT promo....need to find some parts to restore it too... glass rear bumper one wheel and tire plus torsion bar front roof posts are shot too....still its too cool not to restore.
  15. With my lack of any real budget I rarely ever get to buy anything for myself...bills,payments,etc. take it all before there is a chance to and they come first here too. I normally shop at garage sales for models,gas-oil-auto related stuff when possible. The last kit I bought was around two years ago...even though I had a little extra left over I felt guilty afterwards...
  16. I have a small but noticeable problem with some of the kits these days....though there great kits it would be nice if white wall tires were included if there shown on the box arts...being a factory stock kind of builder it matters at least to me anyway. Really happy there starting to include original accessories for building options like they use to....it also promotes the sale of another kit to use them on.
  17. Can you imagine how much fun it was to build these cars....and drive them?...LOL...
  18. I have gone through the same stigma from others before too. My wife never understood the love of the hobby life but women like doing crafts?...so whats the difference right? My wife now understands to a point what all it can take to build and the work that goes into it....its a art form with a high level of skill to make a few pieces of plastic look like a replica of the real thing or ones version of. My 69 Plymouth 4door wagon I made under my photobucket here in my profile took a month to do just the body alone...she was very enlightened at the amount of real work involved to do it starting from a 68 GTX kit. #1...build for yourself it only has to make you the builder happy. #2...never let anyone keep you from what you love to do. #3...modeling is how the real car manufacturers come up with the new body styles of real cars/trucks. #4...its not just for kids but all ages...build because you love to.
  19. I like it..! Maybe some grease or oil residue..?
