  1. Snake... I myself can see your point but for me I am driven to make them whole again and like they should be and were once..LOL.. If I find them in too bad of shape to they will become models somehow...I just cant see letting anything go to waste..specially with my budget. I have been lucky enough to find a couple of them that were of cars the family had owned once...still looking ofr other promos or models of the rest of them. My first real car was a 72 Toronado...very nice one. The # 1 on my wants list is a 75 Firebird or TA...I owned one once and truly loved that car.
  2. Very cool dioramas and story on them. I still have hopes to find someone willing to trade me a 75 Firebird someday so i can build a replica of mine I once owned...I truly loved that car.
  3. Exactly Shaun....that is what makes this place so great....there is always someone willing to help another out if possible here. And I have some great (on-line) friends from here since I started here. Jim..Yep I have had some with radios in them some still worked. Snake...I could make that old Toronado look new again...nice one. I have a sad 68 Toronado promo..it would be mint but the tornado we had tossed it around I found it in our backyard that morning...now it needs a body and glass...bummer.
  4. Very nice..! Clean build too..! I still have a 1 to 1 70 Yenko Nova intake manifold...use to have a ton of old muscle car and custom parts.
  5. Shaun.... I love promos myself and love restoring and collecting them. A promo will have screws holding the chassis on ...no engine but a molded engine plate, etc. on the chassis. Sometimes they will have writing molded into the chassis like information on the real cars features. Some will have a friction mechanized motor on one set of axles while others are just coasters. Some have been reissued while others never have or will be. They were advertising and thank you gifts from the dealerships years ago...many times when the dad would come in and buy a new car with the son the dealer would give one to the son to have. Hope this helps you some.
  6. Welcome Will..! Building is my life..cant imagine not building anymore...scary thought..LOL..
  7. I grew up with Pontiacs in the family..LOL.. we owned some really nice ones id love to be able to make replicas of someday...finding / affording them or the stuff to do them is the biggest challenge. Ether way very nice work on the resins Larry.
  8. Welcome Joseph..! Welcome back to the life and thanks for your service to us all. Any time away from plastic is too long.
  9. Man that is NICE...! Yeah your normal...me I tend to take my own time building too...in the end it shows in the results.
  10. I like all these ideas for parts packs....id also like to see some old and other companies parts come out in parts packs if ever possible like.... AMTs 63 Ford pickups overhead camper top. IMCs old Touch Tone Terrors phone company parts, etc. along with the decals to build both versions of this kit. AMTs old go cart that came with the 60s Ford pickup kit. AMTs service car trailer with the tire rack back out again. MPCs Universal Dune Buggy 1/2 cab parts.,,etc. MPCs old U-Haul style 2 wheel trailer. A scale 60s phone booth. Other camping trailer kits...there kind of a neglected area in plastic.
  11. I love the 60s wagons and am a scale wagon model nut. I built a 69 Plymouth 4 door wagon awhile back from the 68/69 RR kit. Hubley also made a 61 Ford 4 door wagon...mines rough needs a lot but its still cool...they also made a 60 Ford 4 door wagon once. AMT made a 64 and 65 Chevelle/Malibu 4 door wagons..63 Nova 4 door wagon...78? Pinto wagon and Pacer wagon...60 Nomad 4 door wagon...62 Buick 4 door wagon..and..? Johan made a 60 Plymouth 4 door wagon..62 Olds 4 door wagon. Id love to build and collect more wagons..specially some like my family once owned...wagon kits are far underrated they have a ton of possible building versions if one has the parts and ideas. My family owned these wagons once... 57,59,61,64,70 Ford Country Squire wagons. 61,64 Falcon wagons. 65,66 Mercury Colony Park..? wagons. 66.? Buick Skylark Sport wagon. 70 Cutlass wagon 70 Lemans wagon with the GTO nose on it. 59,64,68,69,70,72 Bonneville/Safari wagons. 66,69,70,73 Impala wagons. 68 Rebel wagon. 69 Ambassador wagon. Id love to do these someday..would be good for the memories if nothing else.
  12. I always liked the HT version of this kit even though it would be nice to see a factory stock version of it. Good to see the older stuff coming back out for us all.
  13. And who says snappers cant be good..? Some of the snap kits are great in my opinion...I still enjoy them just i do much better with them than I did many years ago..LOL.. Nice information to have.
  14. Michael.....Stunning restoration and build...shes beautiful..!

  18. Nice build Tom..! Looks awesome..!
  19. That is awesome..! Id also like to make the 74 Hornet he took from the dealership to chase the bad guys in The Man with the Golden Gun...got to find one to do that with too...LOL..
  20. I have no clue how anyone couldn't love these kits they were way beyond awesome. I built most of them as a kid and loved them...they were nicely detailed kits that built very nicely too Id love to see them come back someday but not going to hold my breath on them. I have the IH 4070A truck but its very rough...maybe someday Ill be able to restore her to her formal glory..? AMT and Ertl made some very nice kits back then.
  21. Oh..That is so cool...! Very cool old car...!
