One thing missing from this and many other kits is the ignition coil. I went and made one for this kit since this is not one in the kit. I used a piece of sprue painted black and wrapped a piece of Bare Metal Foil around it. I drilled a hole in the middle of the sprue for a length of ignition wire and glued it in place on the engine manifold.

I fired up the paintbooth and the paint was flying today! I painted the body and hood, the chassis, the interior and some random parts with my spray cans.

Been working on the Demon 340. I got the engine assembled and it is waiting for plug wires and some plumbing. I replaced the distributor since I ruined the kit distributor trying to drill it out for plug wires. The rear end assembly has been paint detailed including Alclad II Chrome paint for the exhaust tips. I wrapped the pipes with tape and lightly sprayed the exhaust tips and they came out excellent! I started on the chassis and I mocked up the rear end assembly on the chassis.

I started on the Demon 340 by assembling and painting the engine. I cued up my Mopar painting guide and it said blue. The instructions said orange and I Googled what color it should be and it depends on when the engine was built. As you can see, I painted the engine orange. I spent some time dry fitting various parts and pieces and studying the instructions and now I am ready to go and assemble this kit.

So far the plan is to use whatever is in the box. I am aware of the kit's shortcomings.

An interesting color, but not on a Jaguar!

I have been chasing this model kit since my birthday in February! And since I needed to buy some paint at Hobby Emporium, they had three of these on the shelf and I grabbed one. The MPC small block 340 does look like it is a tad small compared to an AMT 340 small block (I have two). I plan on building this Demon 340 with the hood scoops, Cragar SS mags, no rear spoiler and stock decals. I can understand why some are using the AMT '71 Duster 340 as a donor kit or replacing the small block 340 engine.

Thank you everyone! Your words mean a lot to me!

I fired up the paintbooth and did some paintin' today! The interior and the body was painted today and they both look good! Maybe this will come out better than my '21 Charger R/T did.

I have finished my 2021 Charger R/T. It is painted with Tamiya TS-54 Light Metallic Blue with a Semi Gloss Black interior. I added extra seat belt receivers and seat belts and hardware.

I decided to experiment with a can of grey lacquer primer that I had on a sprue of parts for the Jag. So far, the grey primer is blocking the red plastic. We shall see where this goes.

Jaguar XK-E Coupe I started on the 3.8 Ltr. engine and this took me about half an hour to do. I forgot that these Revell of Germany kits require painting and assembly and each part requires usually more than one color of paint. This is gonna be a long build!

Thanks Dan, it is much appreciated! I may have to give it a try!

My latest project-Revell's Jaguar XK-E Coupe. I had to get extra parts from Revell DE due to a couple of short shots in the molding process. And, now to cover up the red plastic and change the color to Dupli-Color Forest Green Pearl with a tan interior. I've heard of using flat black followed by silver followed by my color choice to cover the red plastic. If I use a primer, do I use it before all of the cover coats or not? I want to do this process correctly and not to add my primary color in many, many coats to cover the red.

Thanks Carl and Guido!

I painted the surrounds on the front and rear windshields. I have to admit that this is something I have been putting off for a little bit. The windshields came out well, but the rear windshield now has a hole from all of the masking and the instructions don't tell you to insert anything red in the hole. Well, I guess that the instructions are just a guide and no one should pay much attention to them.

1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Since the paintbooth was up and running, I added another coat of Tamiya TS-21 Gold to the body and all of the various parts in the kit. This kit is coming along slowly.

I had fired up the paintbooth and was in the process of shooting parts and pieces for other projects and I happened to think of this one and out it came with the remaining paint that I had and shot the roof and trunk lid. It came out rather well with what I had left.
-
Thanks Noah and Jeremy! I just need to finish the front windshield and the rear window.

The Charger is coming along! I'm still working on the windows for the Charger. I just have to paint and install the front and rear windows and paint and install the rear license plate panel and then final assembly.
-
Good, Jeremy! I hope that you enjoy the color!

Thanks Jeremy!

Thank you David, L M and Tony! I must have hit on the right combo of the red paint and the Cragars mags. I have heard similar comments here and elsewhere.
