AMT 2021 Bronco….
mrmike replied to cruz's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice! Good job! -
My newest project-AMT's International Scout II. This kit is only a couple of years old, but it is molded in the same colored plastic as my old International SSII Scout from ERTL. This kit was a gift from my friend Tim Rhine and it has no decals which is not a problem for me. My body paint will be Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green and the interior will be a dark tan. The interior will have the CB radio installed under the dash and the antenna mounted on the roof. One of the things this kit is known for is the lack of a radiator on this inside of the engine compartment. If there is room for one, I will add a radiator to the engine compartment to match the one on the outside of the engine compartment.

Someone, somewhere suggested that I should paint the seat panels to help make the interior pop! I thought about it since I was going for a stock look. That all changed when I choose a non-stock color for the body and then I painted the grille letters and the front tow hooks with that color. It looks pretty good. -

Thanks Carl! I added some detail to the grille, lights and front bumper that had enthused me from a picture on Google Images. I used the body color on the grille letters, headlights and the front bumper for a different look. -

I painted the Bronco today along with the hood and roof. Now to let this dry and in a few days I'll add a couple coats of clear to the body and then final assembly! -

Thanks Carl! Now to motivate myself to even more painting. This kit has very little chrome, so it is mostly paint! -

I got the Bronco up on 4 wheels! Now to paint the top Gloss Black and the hood and body with the Metallic Orange. -

We didn't have a PEP Boys until about 10+ years ago and now all the sell are tires or service your vehicles. -

Thanks David! If I am going to dish out some serious cash for wheels, and just wheels alone, why would I want to make "disappear". I want them to stand out and be noticed! We never paint our wheels. We had a place one town over that sold wheel covers real cheap for a set of four! He now does only paving. -

OMG!!! He painted his wheels silver! I painted them silver because I hate black wheels! They blend into the ground and I prefer to have silver or even chrome plated wheels because they are part of the vehicle and they should be seen! The interior and the chassis/suspension are coming along. -

I was a paintin' fool this afternoon, until I ran out of paint! I need to get to the hobby shop soon to get more paint! Now to add a second coat of paint to some of the parts that require a second and maybe even a third coat in some places. -
Looks great! I have built one of these myself.

Looks great, Randy! Neat kit!

Yes, the kit is a curbside, but the hood is separate and an engine could be fitted if needed. -
A little work on the Olds W-30 this afternoon. I did a mockup of the chassis, interior plate and the body and I didn't like where the rear wheels were sitting. I used the wider rear tire (L60-15) and the position didn't look good. I cut off most of the rear mounting boss for the wheel inners and they look 100% better.

I did a little painting this morning. I did the chassis and part of the interior. I changed my mind on the color of the interior. I'm going with grey for my interior. -

Thanks Jeff! There is a little flash that seems to take a while to remove, but the 2021 Bronco does seem to be nicely molded! -

Thanks Bob! This kit seems to be a very nice kit for a curbside. I have my colors picked out-metallic orange for the body, semi-gloss black for the interior and the roof.
