  1. Alan, I like them because they are unusual subjects that you don't find elsewhere. Shape issues be d*****! I just happen to like them!
  2. Thanks Charles and Jonathan! The kit was manufactured in 2021, but the kit design goes back even further than that! I also have the International SSII kit by ERTL and it doesn't have a date on it, but if I had to guess, it goes back to the '70-'80s.
  3. Thanks Carl! I know you will follow along!
  4. Thanks Tony! It was probably meant to be built as the box art, but as a modeler, we strive to be different. I have made a change of the paint color to include a second color for the roof and that is white. Should look great as a tu-tone of white over green.
  5. I have finished my 2021 Bronco. Painted with Tamiya TS-93 Metallic Orange with a grey and Metallic Orange interior. Built mostly box stock.
  6. My newest project-AMT's International Scout II. This kit is only a couple of years old, but it is molded in the same colored plastic as my old International SSII Scout from ERTL. This kit was a gift from my friend Tim Rhine and it has no decals which is not a problem for me. My body paint will be Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green and the interior will be a dark tan. The interior will have the CB radio installed under the dash and the antenna mounted on the roof. One of the things this kit is known for is the lack of a radiator on this inside of the engine compartment. If there is room for one, I will add a radiator to the engine compartment to match the one on the outside of the engine compartment.
  7. Thanks Joe! The SUV is almost done. It needs some polishing and a few decals.
  8. Someone, somewhere suggested that I should paint the seat panels to help make the interior pop! I thought about it since I was going for a stock look. That all changed when I choose a non-stock color for the body and then I painted the grille letters and the front tow hooks with that color. It looks pretty good.
  9. Thanks Carl! I added some detail to the grille, lights and front bumper that had enthused me from a picture on Google Images. I used the body color on the grille letters, headlights and the front bumper for a different look.
  10. I painted the Bronco today along with the hood and roof. Now to let this dry and in a few days I'll add a couple coats of clear to the body and then final assembly!
  11. Thanks Carl! Now to motivate myself to even more painting. This kit has very little chrome, so it is mostly paint!
  12. I got the Bronco up on 4 wheels! Now to paint the top Gloss Black and the hood and body with the Metallic Orange.
  13. We didn't have a PEP Boys until about 10+ years ago and now all the sell are tires or service your vehicles.
  14. Thanks David! If I am going to dish out some serious cash for wheels, and just wheels alone, why would I want to make "disappear". I want them to stand out and be noticed! We never paint our wheels. We had a place one town over that sold wheel covers real cheap for a set of four! He now does only paving.
  15. OMG!!! He painted his wheels silver! I painted them silver because I hate black wheels! They blend into the ground and I prefer to have silver or even chrome plated wheels because they are part of the vehicle and they should be seen! The interior and the chassis/suspension are coming along.
  16. Thanks Carl! I'll have to venture out in the extreme heat and buy some more paint.
  17. I was a paintin' fool this afternoon, until I ran out of paint! I need to get to the hobby shop soon to get more paint! Now to add a second coat of paint to some of the parts that require a second and maybe even a third coat in some places.
  18. Lookin' good!
  19. Looks great! I have built one of these myself.
  20. Looks great, Randy! Neat kit!
