Looks good in white. Excellent job!

No need to be sorry, Jim. I understand.

I do thank you for the info, but I don't dare take the windshield apart to repair it. This was suppose to be a quick rebuild and it has gone on much longer than I had hoped for. It will stay as is for now. Thanks again!
-
Oh, no I can't! Too much glue on the windshield to make it repairable. The glue is all around the edges in spots.

I did some detailing today. After viewing some Google pictures of several '56 T-Birds, I noticed the rear bumper had notches for the exhaust and the windshield has blobs of adhesive and I didn't have any material to make a windshield, so I use the old one. I detailed the rear taillights and the front indicators based on those pictures.

Thank you Keith! If you want this kit, I would make an effort to secure one sooner than later. -
I took it as a challenge to build a Mustang that my grandkids outgrew. A conversation with a fellow modeler at NNL East about the TV series Spenser For Hire got me to build this Mustang. BTW, excellent job on this one, Atin!

Thank you David and Carl! These old kits have a way of making us appreciate them. I suppose I could have added other things like a master cylinder and a radiator, but that would have taken away from the original kit that I was trying to build. I did add plug wires which I thought added to the kit. -

Thanks guys! One thing is for sure about any of the Scout II kits is the lack of detail. No brakes or booster, no wiper motor, no nothing! While the kit is stamped with a 2021 date code on the inside and AMT packaging, this kit goes back to the '70s-'80s as it is somewhat crude. I have an original ERTL International Offroad Scout SS II and it is basically the same as the Scout II kit with many of the same components and parts. -
My completed Scout II with a CB radio, white lettered tires, 5 slot custom wheels and a 345 CI V8 with an automatic transmission. The paint is Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green with a Tamiya TS-26 Pure White roof and a Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand interior.

I spent part of the afternoon cleaning up the Scout II from the mess I had made of it. Then I added some chrome trim around the windows. So far, this mockup is good! -
I performed a mockup this morning before I set the front suspension in place permanently. I wanted to get a sense of where and how the body will look on the chassis. So far, so good!

It appears that AMT and Revell are producing a few similar themed kits and I don't know where they are getting the rights to produce them.

AMT 1971 Mustang Mach 1 - Diamonds are Forever!
mrmike replied to ModelcarJR's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Good luck with this build John! I built the AMT kit years ago as the Diamonds Are Forever '71 Mustang and I had to buy the resin aftermarket wheels to complete the look of the 1:1 car. I'm sure the newer AMT kit is a little closer to the 1:1. -
