2021 Ford Bronco First Edition
mrmike replied to mrmike's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Yes, the kit is a curbside, but the hood is separate and an engine could be fitted if needed. -
A little work on the Olds W-30 this afternoon. I did a mockup of the chassis, interior plate and the body and I didn't like where the rear wheels were sitting. I used the wider rear tire (L60-15) and the position didn't look good. I cut off most of the rear mounting boss for the wheel inners and they look 100% better.

I did a little painting this morning. I did the chassis and part of the interior. I changed my mind on the color of the interior. I'm going with grey for my interior. -

Thanks Jeff! There is a little flash that seems to take a while to remove, but the 2021 Bronco does seem to be nicely molded! -

Thanks Bob! This kit seems to be a very nice kit for a curbside. I have my colors picked out-metallic orange for the body, semi-gloss black for the interior and the roof. -

I painted a spoon to see what the color would look like with another color under it and I chose Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange and Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf on one side and just Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange on the other. One side was darker overall and the other is lighter and brighter. This is the color I will go with. I started assembling various components, but not painting them yet. -

The paint color Area 51 is a tri-coat blue-gray color. Should look sharp! -

Thanks Bob! I have a plastic spoon that I sprayed silver and metallic orange on one side and just metallic orange on the other. I think I will use just the metallic orange since it is brighter. -
Well, I got frustrated and so I walked away. Better to do it that way before I messed it up completely.

Thank you Carl and Supernurd!

Thanks for the update, Jeff! I'll watch for it. -
A mock up to see where I am at. Some touchups this morning and rear spoiler assembly. The instructions don't call out the rear spoiler assembly so I had to guess where the stanchions assembled which way. Looks like I have it.

I have finished my '69 GTX. This is suppose to represent a "Day 2" car with Cragar SS mags and a different paint job as seen in the last picture.

Thanks David! I saw someone else's Torino in this color and it does look similar to the color I want and I happen to like orange! -
Thank you everyone! I appreciate the nice words about the Demon!

Since one of my current projects, the AMT '69 Plymouth GTX is almost done, it is time to start on a new one. This time it is the AMT '21 Ford Bronco First Edition. My plan is to paint the body with Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange with a black roof and a black interior. I am a little upset with the fact that this is only a 2 door and not a 4 door since most of the new Broncos around here are 4 doors and not 2 doors SUVs.

I just finished adding some more chrome parts to the GTX. The rear bumper, right rear taillight and the exhaust tips. Next is the side view mirrors and touchups and some cleaning of the model then it is ready for the model shelf.

Thanks David, Jeff and Carl! The inner fenders should fit a Chevelle as they are both the same GM product. Or, you can paint the Chevelle inner fenders red. It would save you from dismantling the Chevelle front end completely.

Thank you Larry and Mario! This was a rush job as I wanted to challenge myself on a fast build. I think I could have done better, but it is what it is! Thank you again!

Thank you everyone! I appreciate it!

I painted more parts for the 442 today! Need some touchups and movin' on. Hey, that's a neat country song! Movin' On!

Thanks Carl! It figures! After all of the issues with paint, this GTX is fighting me! I have polished the body and hood and trying to assemble the car, but parts keep on falling off. Time to walk away from this!
