  1. Its been a while since I have done a WIP on this forum, so here goes...I bought this kit a couple of weeks ago at my Club's show and when I opened the box at home, I was really surprised by what I found in the kit. This kit is packed! I found a nicely molded body will no flash and hardly any mold lines. The kit also contained 4 regular radial tires and 2 wide radial tires, unfortunately with no side markings, 6 steel wheels with 4 hubcaps and 6 American Torq Thrust wheels. Two versions of the 426 Wedge engine can be built...the standard Wedge or the 426 Max Wedge. The exhaust system has cutouts molded into the pipes. I have another project I wanted to build, but thinking about this kit so much has forced that project behind this one instead. I started thinking about what colors and which wheels I wanted to use, so off to Google Images I went looking for inspiration and ideas. I usually like to have an image of something close to what I'm building on my computer desktop and I found this... This Belvedere was photographed for Mopar Muscle Magazine and it's gorgeous and now it's my inspiration for my new WIP. I'll paint this with Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red with a Model Master Insignia Red interior. The hood scoop is from the Revell '67 Dodge Charger and I'll use the wide rear tires with the Torq Thrust wheels and build the 426 Max Wedge engine. I haven't been this enthused about a project in a very long time!!! More Mopar to come...
  2. Thank you guys! This '66 Fairlane came out better than I had hoped for, even if I did compromise on a couple of details that I didn't have time for.
  3. Thank you guys! This came out better than I had hoped for. As i was building this, I keep finding little details that I could add along the way. Truly a nice kit!
  4. This was my project for the Classic Plastic Model Club Challenge for our show Oct. 2, 2016. It is painted with Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange with a Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black and Metallic Orange interior. Lowered suspension, scripts removed, scratch made tachometer, wheels and tires from the Revell '72 Olds Cutlass Convertible.
  5. Thanks guys! I couldn't find the correct color ignition wire here in the shop, the correct wheels (nobody makes them), nor did I replicate the bracing under the dash. Overall, the end result is just how it looked in the episode. While the chassis can be a bit spindly to build and the headers might not line up perfectly, this is a neat kit to build as this has been my third Revellogram Cobra built in the last few years.
  6. Thank you everyone!
  7. This is my version of the "Cobra In A Barn" that was found by Wayne Carini of TV's Chasing Classic Cars. I have even replicated the broken drivers side vent wing and the rusted knockoffs of the original car.
  8. Thank you Ron and Dan!
  9. Thank you guys! peekay, yes I did clear coat the wood using the same gloss clear that I used on the rest of the model. I used Testors Wet Look Clear.
  10. Super nice build Jim! Reminds me of my '64 Dodge and '64 Plymouth builds. Great job!!!
  11. This is my Revell '49 Merc Woody painted with Testors Mythical Maroon and Model Master Wood on the body with Model Master Dark Tan for the interior. The front suspension has been lowered. I used chrome bumperettes for the visor supports, changed the wheels to chrome reverse wheels from the Monogram '69 Charger Daytona, changed the rear taillights, and added a license plate frame.
  12. I am totally in awe of this! The details just are mind blowing! This Shelby is just fantastic!
  13. Great looking Fairlane, Jim!!! I have one to build for my Club's show in October, any way I want.
  14. Thank you guys for the nice comments! Every once in a great while, someone will resurrect one of my old builds and comment on it. This one was completed over four years ago and it still looks great sitting on my display shelf. It s by no means a show winner, but it is a winner at home.
  15. Thank you guys! As far as I know, no one makes this in 1/6 scale. To me, 1/6 scale is a bit of an odd scale versus 1/8 or 1/10 scale or even 1/12 or 1/16 scale. Good luck in your search. Foiling helps cover part of the mask line. I'd rather paint everything first, then foil afterwards. For me, cleaning paint from foil is a pain and something I really don't want to do.
  16. Thank you Greg...ah...Stray...ah...whatever your name is! lol
  17. Thanks Bill and Hector!
  18. Thank you Pete and Gene!
  19. Every '20-'30s era rod that I have seen has had a chrome grille in front of the radiator. I can't envision this rod with a black radiator showing. I also considered applying a black wash to the grille, but dropped that idea because I like the shiny chrome grille instead.
  20. Thank you, guys! This kit was built mostly out-of-box with a few changes made to suit myself. Yes, Harry. I tried the window from the inside, but I didn't like it. I glued it in from the outside since it visually looked better to my eye.
  21. This the Revell '30 Ford Model A Touring Street Rod painted with Testors Inca Gold One Coat Lacquer with a white interior, wired engine, and a lowered suspension. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y224/mrmike007/30%20Ford%20Model%20A%20Touring%20Street%20Rod/30ModelA40.jpg[/img
  22. Thanks Darryl, Joseph, Daniel, Kevin, and Joe. I used Testors Gold Metallic enamel. I wasn't sure if it was going to totally correct, but i used it anyway.
  23. Thank you Tony and Roy!
  24. Thank you Cliff and Joe!
