  1. The Build My latest project and the return of McNally, Boston PI. The story is called "A Touch of English". This is the Heller Jaguar Type E Cabriolet aka the Jag XK-E Roadster. I have never built a Heller kit before so this will be a first for me. Revell of Germany is releasing the Jaguar XK-E Coupe sometime in October and I hope to get my hands on one of those kits when they come out. I have heard of issues involving the Heller body halves lining up and not fitting well on this kit. I will be very cognizant of that. My body paint will be Tamiya TS-86 Pure Red with a tan interior and black seats. The Story A British gentleman by the name of Bartholomew Richard Francis Atkinson III is driving his Jaguar XK-E Cabriolet into Charlestown for an appointment with McNally, Boston PI. He is driving the Jag with the top down on this sunny late May day and he is enjoying the top down experience! He stops the Jag in front of McNally's home at 157 Dardenvale St. and he removes his black leather drving gloves and adjusts his tweed driving cap before getting out of his car. On the front porch of McNally's home he rings the doorbell and McNally opens the door and welcomes him into the house. They go into his office and sit to discuss the reason Ritchie wants to hire McNally, he had a breakin at his home in Concord, MA and his coin collection was stolen. The coin collection was worth almost $3,000,000 with many rare coins in the collection. Ritchie, who is almost 75 years old, has been collecting these coins since he was a 6 year old child in England. He wants the collection returned to him with no questions asked. A coin collection may be hard to find especially if the collection was broken up. McNally takes on the case for Ritchie after citing his pay and what to expect from this investigation. Ritchie thanks McNally for taking on the case and if he needs anymore information, he is available for any questions McNally may have.
  2. More work on the interior has been done. The roll cage has been assembled and is not glued into the interior. I used Bare Metal Foil for the clamps on the two bottles in the interior. The grey bottle with the two clamps on it is suppose to be painted with Tamiya XF-63 German Grey and it is not listed in the Paint Callout. Since I don't have that color, I used Model Master Acryl Gunship Grey. I want to wire all this up, but I haven't been able to find any schematics or diagrams. Maybe someone knows where I can find them. More Mustang to come...
  3. I am intrigued by the wiring on the interior components. Did you find a schematic somewhere or are you taking a lot of liberties with it?
  4. Thanks Tony! There it is! There's one mold line on each side of the A pillar and runs the length of the upper door on both sides. There's a mold line on each corner of the rear bumper, too! I have highlighted them in pencil. A mockup of the chassis with all four wheels and tires. More Mustang to come...
  5. Looking really good Tony! Great job! I have the Lindberg '67 442 in the stash and I am trying to come up with a different version to build it in.
  6. Thanks Curtis! This kit is just falling together other than the tiny little parts and my fat fumble fingers. I keep watching the video of the Mustang GT4 running up the hill at Goodwood. Awesome!
  7. I did a little painting today. I painted the wheels with Tamiya TS-42 Light Gunmetal, the exhaust system with Tamiya X-31 Titanium Gold, the front suspension and disc brakes with Model Master Acryl Arctic Blue Metallic, Model Master Stainless Steel Metalizer, Tamiya Titanium Gold and Tamiya Chrome Silver. The chassis is coming along... More Mustang to come...
  8. Thank you Dave! Home Town is a great show! As much as I don't want to move from New Hampshire, Laurel, Mississippi sounds like a very nice place to live. I'm just not a fan of the constant humidity there.
  9. Excellent! Great job, Carl!
  10. Thank you Alan and Alan! Interesting how you two chime in together! I don't like the air cleaner design and if I could, I would have gone into my parts box and found a better one. Painting it the body color changed it slight;y and made it part of the body. I thinned the windshield frame slightly, but not too much due to the stepped windshield glass.
  11. Thank you Carl!
  12. Thank you Craig! It was either this Model Master paint or Tamiya which is pretty close.
  13. Looking great! I just started on one myself. I'll be watching!
  14. Thanks Tony! I have heard of other livery decals being offered and I expected that to happen when the kit wwas going to be released. Good luck with yours and I hope you do a WIP on it.
  15. Thank you Don, Larry and David! McNally is taking a rest. He'll be back soon!
  16. Phil, this seems to be an excellent kit. Get it before it disappears! I pulled the body out of the baggie it was in to inspect it for mold lines and flash and surprise! There are none! Now on to a bath! The instructions say to leave the chassis white and I thought it would have been grey like the body color. I started to think about taking a "body-in-white" and Multimatic Racing in Canada building the cars with roll cages and such and then painting the bodies. I suppose the chassis would have remained white while they painted the body grey with the usual overspray. More Mustang to come...
  17. My '60 Chevy pickup is finished and post in Under Glass. My thanks to all thse who viewed and commented on my WIP.
  18. I have finished my '32 Ford Phaeton Street Rod and it is posted in Under Glass. My thanks to those who viewed and comment on my WIP.
  19. My latest project is Tamiya's Ford Mustang GT4 race car. Since I am a fan of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this car will be painted with Tamiya TS-4 German Grey with a Tamiya TS-13 Gloss Clear top coat and a white roll cage with a black racing seat to represent the car shown there in 2017. I haven't built a race car in a very long time. Let's see what I can do with this kit! More Mustang to come...
  20. This is my version of the '62 Chevy Fleetside Pickup from HGTV's "Home Town painted with Tamiya TS-10 French Blue with a silver and grey interior. I used the AMT '60 Chevy Pickup for this version.
  21. This is my '32 Ford Phaeton Street Rod painted with Model Master Mystic Emerald and built box stock with a few changes made by me.
