  1. Thanks Russell and David! This build is different for me. It has allowed my to reconnect with an old friend and to build this kit completely different from what Revell wanted it built as.
  2. I couldn't resist the urge to do a mockup of the Fairlane. This is looking really good! More Fairlane to come...
  3. Thank you David!
  4. Thank you Charlie, Jerry and Bruce!
  5. Thank you Carl and Jack!
  6. I had found some sanding marks in the plastic and in the process of polishing, I had polished almost through the paint. I masked off the trunk lid and added a couple coats of Model Master Wimbeldon White. More Fairlane to come...
  7. Thank you Christopher, Keith and Chris!
  8. Thanks guys! Having starting this build over 5 years ago, I knew I had to finishit . It came out just has I had hoped it would. Even the Buddy Seat was as I wanted it.
  9. I have finished my '68 Charger R/T and it is posted in Under Glass. I would like to thank all those who have viewed and commented on my WIP for the last 5 years.
  10. This is my Revell '68 Charger R/T painted with Tamiya TS-54 Light Metallic Blue with a matching interior, center cushion, column mounted tachometer and Hurst T handle on the 4-speed shift lever.
  11. Great build! Excellent paint and assembly, too!
  12. Thanks Scott! I fired up the paintbooth and primered and painted the Fairlane this afternoon. The color is Model Master Wimbeldon White. More Fairlane to come...
  13. Thanks David! I've been thinking about how I want the exhaust and the engine mounted in the chassis. Been working on that on and off this afternoon.
  14. The interior has been assembled. I glued the wheels and tires on so the Fairlane wouldn't roll and I made a pair of shock absorbers for the rear suspension with some 1/8th inch tube and 1/16th inch rod and painted them gloss yellow. More Fairlane to come...
  15. I have finished the front grille and rear panel of the Fairlane. I am almost finished with the chassis. I need to make a set of shock absorbers since the set I found are way too long. More Fairlane to come...
  16. I have painted the interior with Model Master Insignia Red with my Badger Universal 360 Airbrush. I drew the silver stripes on the seats with my Molotow Liquid Chrome 1mm pen. After looking at some pictures of a Fairlane interior, I remembered having a console from the AMT '62 Thunderbird. A little sanding and I added it to the interior. More interior parts ready for a coating of Semi Gloss Clear. The Dash has been detailed with silver and gauge decals. I detailed the front and rear panels and the shifter. More Fairlane to come...
  17. I've been painting some parts this morning with Tamiya X-18 Semi Gloss Black. I thought I had lost an entire sprue with the dash board on it, but I found it off to the side of the box on the floor. I painted the front and rear shock/coil spring assembly, but they may be replaced with some simple shocks in the rear. More Fairlane to come...
  18. I found an exhaust system that will fix my needs for this model. It comes from the AMT '62 Thunderbird and it was given to me last year by the late Barry Fadden. I added the second half of the rear axle housing. The rear axle assembly is made for the 427 CI engine, but I'll use it here. I added the wheel backings, but I noticed the different lengths of the hubs. I'll add these last to get the correct axle widths. More Fairlane to come...
  19. I started work on the 6 cylinder engine that is in this kit. I drilled out the heads and distributor for plug wires.
  20. The Chrysler 440s were Chrysler Engine Turqouise, not Chrysler Engine Blue or Hemi Orange. https://www.turbinecar.com/misc/enginecolor.htm
  21. Thanks John! If you have a question about my '68 Charger, feel free to ask!
  22. The body, interior and chassis are now one piece! I inserted the dome light, windows, and interior rear view mirror and joined them all together. I am getting to the point that I just want this one off the bench! More Charger R/T to come...
  23. I started on basic engine assembly and paint detailed the parts to go with it. I have drilled out the distributor for plug wires. I've completed the 289 CI engine and I have painted the wheels and have assembled them with whitewall tires from the Moebius '65 Satellite. More Fairlane to come...
