  1. Thanks Scott and Joe! Sometimes a build can remind you of a 1:1 car that you may have seen at a show or on the street or parking lot somewhere. It happens to me quite often and I am compelled to build that model. One such car I saw at a car show is a '65 Buick Riviera GS that caught my eye. I have the AMT kit and I will build it someday soon.
  2. Thank you Jeremy!
  3. This is another refugee from the dirty and dusty model shelves. This Monte Carlo SS was washed, polished and reassembled. The body was not painted and there is a metallic in the plastic that shimmers in certain light. The engine was wired, but the model is built box stock.
  4. I got the T-Bird body trim painted and the body polished. I added the glass and the interior to the body. I'm using a Parts by Parks aluminium distributor on the engine. I may need plug boots, too. More Thunderbird to come...
  5. I masked the T-Bird this morning and brush painted the trim around the windows and the body side moldings. I had some bleed under the tape, so now it's cleanup time. The more I stared at the exhaust system, the more I didn't like it. I cut the mufflers from the Turbo exhaust and the Mustang Boss 429 exhaust and swapped them around. More Thunderbird to come...
  6. Tonight, I got the engine installed into the chassis. Save for a few touchups, the chassis is done! The exhaust system hooked up right where it should. I'll add some exhaust tips and maybe notch the rear bumper for the tips. More Thunderbird to come...
  7. And, it was done! I turned the engine into a dry sump engine to get it lower in the chassis. I'll create a new transmission and engine mounts for the frame. The only clearance issue I had was the overflow container was hitting the pump on the left side of the belt assembly.
  8. I think it will be, Vince. I am using parts from the Monogram '70 Boss 429 Mustang. The engine should fit and the exhaust system from the Mustang should fit with some minor tweaking.
  9. Looks good! Almost like the one I built years ago.
  10. A unique idea! Looks good. A suggestion...remove the "bumps" on the hood scoops. They shouldn't be there.
  11. This Thunderbird is another refugee from my dusty and dirty model shelves. When I get done with this T-Bird, it will no longer be a Turbo Coupe! Why? It will have a Boss 429 engine in its engine compartment, that's why. This T-Bird was covered with dust and dust-puppies and I started to clean it off. Then, the model started to fall apart. I remember reading in Hot Rod Magazine some time ago about rodders stuffing Ford V8s into the T-Bird and then Ford followed suit by adding a 5.0 Ltr. V8 to their lineup. I'm going to attempt the same, but with a BIG PUNCH! The Boss 429 is on the left. The others were considered and much smaller. It fits the frame rails, but it might have to be lowered a bit to fit under the hood. More Thunderbird to come...
  12. Bill, I have the instructions to the Revell '90 Mustang Police interceptor/Stock LX 5.0. Send me your address via PM and I'll ship them out to you ASAP.
  13. Thanks Michael! I have seen this paint in the sunshine and it is striking! Unfortunately, I have no pictures. I have no pictures of the other models I have used this paint on either.
  14. More progress on the Foose Coronet! Foiling is done! Have a look... More Foose Coronet to come...
  15. Thanks Tom and Atin! With all the changes I have made, this is starting to look more like the car I have seen on TV.
  16. Thanks Curtis!
  17. Thanks Curtis!
  18. Well, much has changed since my last posting. I have finished a different model for the Classic Plastic Model Club Exhibition "Club Challenge". So, the Boss 302 will be built with plug wires and other details. What's this? Why it's the distributor to the Boss 302. I drilled a little too far and the shaft fell out. I replaced it with a piece of round styrene. I drilled out the cylinder heads for plugs wires. More Boss 302 to come...
  19. With all the masking done, I went and painted the roof of the Coronet with Tamiya TS-14 Gloss Black. Three coats of paint and it looks great! I'll let this dry and clearcoat the entire body with Tamiya TS-13 Gloss Clear. More Foose Coronet to come...
  20. Looks good! I built the same model last year with some changes to the wheels and side vents on the front fenders.
  21. Michigan State Police cruisers were a blue close to what you have used here. They have a 100th Anniversary paint scheme that was black with gold graphics.
  22. Thanks Charlie!
  23. Thank you Joe! The re-finished Range Rover is posted in Under Glass.
  24. I made a bit of progress at yesterday's Play Date. I finished the interior, mounted the wheels and tires and got the primary coat of paint on the Coronet. Yes, the paint is thin on top of the roof. It will be painted with Tamiya TS-14 Gloss Black. I rubbed out the body with a terry cloth towel to remove the blushing due to the high humidity yesterday. More Foose Coronet to come...
