I continued breaking down the Talladega today. Some parts are coming off with the flick of a finger and others are requiring a little more effort. So far, nothing has been broken! I removed the grille, rear panel and the side mirrors easily. Time for a good bath! More to come...

I found another model on the shelf that needs a rebuild. My '69 Torino Talladega! If I can find another set of decals for the Talladega, then I'll repaint the body. I'll take apart whatever I can safely take apart and repaint and/or repair it. More to come...

Thank you everyone! Yes, the Borrani's did make a BIG difference and the paint turned out very well!

I am almost done with my Aston Martin DB4. Just a few little things to add and some touchups and polishing. Here's a peek at my WIP. More to come...

Thanks Thomas! Right now I am concerned with removing the hood louvers and getting the louver section flat. It'll take a while, but I think I can do it.

The first thing I did was to connect the bucket seats together to make a bench seat. I used some styrene rod and will cover the gap with .020 sheet styrene. I may remove the rod from between the seatbacks and created a split between the seatbacks. I filled the hole in the floor pan and with flock this interior floor. I partially assembled the engine and painted it with Mopar Street Hemi Orange paint. This paint will take a few days to gas out. I also have my TorqueFlite A727 Automatic trans and shifter ready for paint. I removed the R/T logos from the body and now for the toughest part of the build...removing the louvers from the hood. I used Tamiya tape to protect the hood while I sand away the louvers. The valve covers have been drilled for plug wires and will be stripped of it's chrome plating as well as the alternator and carbs. More to come...

My new project is the Foose '67 Dodge Coronet and this kit has been in the stash for a couple of years. I have seen builds of this kit, but never built as the car from OverHaulin' season 4, episode 6. This is my goal here, but I have to make some changes. The '67 Coronet from the show was a Coronet 440 model and not the Coronet R/T as depicted by the kit. The engine was a modern Hemi and not the second generation Hemi that's in the kit. I will use the Hemi that is in the kit, but the 4-speed transmission will be replace by a TorqueFlite A727 automatic trans and a column shifter. The buckets seats will be made into a bench seat and the R/T emblems will be removed from the body, but if I try to remove them from the grille and taillight panel, which is also wrong for a Coronet 440, I'll end up destroying them. And, I'll remove the hood louvers since the Coronet 440 has a flat hood. My paint will be Dupli-Color Forest Pearl Green and Tamiya TS-14 Black and the TorqueFlite A727 automatic transmission. Let's see what I can do with this kit... More to come...

The Story The funeral was filled with many grieving people of all ages and many cops were there in a sign of support for Danny’s widow, Jenny. The church hall had a reception after the funeral with all kinds of potluck dishes. Many were homemade and some were store bought. McNally attended the funeral and even got to talk with Jenny for about 10 minutes when she was whisked away by a family member to talk with someone in a wheelchair. After another hour, he went outside because he thought the hall was getting stuffy and he wanted some air and to cool off. In the parking lot, he sees Danny’s cousin, Bob, handing out beers from a cooler in the trunk of his car. He doesn’t know Danny’s cousin, but he is handed a can of beer anyway. Apparently, Bob knew McNally was Danny’s partner many years ago in the Burglary/Robbery Division of the Boston Police Dept. He sees Lt. Det. Adam Troy talking to Lt. Det. Ferris of Burglary/Robbery Division drinking beers and he walks over to them and asks if they are duty? The replies from Adam was , "I won't tell if you don't." Lt. Ferris says, "Works for me," as he takes a swig of beer from the can. Attorney Charlotte Rothmann comes over and takes McNally's can of beer and takes a sip from it and says, "I still can't get use to the taste of beer." "It tastes better out of a bottle or on draft," says Adam. They talk briefly about Danny and Jenny and the kids and how they will be benefitted by the Police Benevolent Association. McNally finishes his beer and says goodbye to the two detectives and to Charlie. He walks back into the Church Hall and says goodbye to Jenny and offers her his help to clean out Danny's belongings to which Jenny says she will call him. He gets into his Dodge Challenger and drives home thinking about the good times he had with Danny. McNally will return... The Build I have finished my rebuild of the Italeri Volvo 760 GLE and it is posted in Under Glass. I would like to thank all those who have taken the time to view and to comment on my WIP.

The Story Tailing the skinny woman wasn't too hard until she got into a customer's car and he lost them in traffic. McNally heads over to BPD Headquarters to drop off the needle and baggie that he found at Danny's apartment. DNA testing might tell who the skinny woman is and where the drugs came from. Lt. Det. Troy tell McNally that the two hitters in the SUV worked for "Packy" Delroy, a mean and terribly angry mobster who is looking to take over Chinatown to sell drugs and prostitution. "Packy" hates all cops and PIs and he demands total loyalty from his employees. McNally visits "Packy" in a storefront he owns and "Packy" admits to killing Det. Carlylse and refers to him as collateral damage since BPD Vice is in the way of his acquisition of Chinatown. Suddenly a flash bang grenade breaks the store window and the store is taken over by Vice and "Packy" runs out the back with McNally on his tail. As "Packy" tries to pull out his Colt Model 1911 from his holster, he is tackled by the Boston PI and arrested by Vice cops dressed in masks and bulletproof armor. The Build I have finally finished foiling the Volvo! I used a bit of Foil for this build, but not as much as the Revell '59 Caddy I once built. The most difficult part was around the upper door frames with a sliver of Foil. I was tempted to use my Molotow Liquid Chrome pen, but I nixed that idea. McNally will return...

Thank you Carl, Chris and Larry! -
As a line of storms thundered through the area, I sat at my work bench and started working on the DB4 for a little bit. I added the headlight bezels and the taillights. Since installing the rear window ruined the Bare Metal Foil on the trim, I figured that the best way around all that was to mask off the trim and paint it on with my Molotow Liquid Chrome pen. I'll leave this for a day or two to dry. More to come...

Sorry to hear of your "oops" Gary! Once, I knocked a Jeep CJ5 off one of my bookcase shelves and I'm still finding parts to it every now and then.

The more I look at the box art, the more I don't think that was the kit box that I had. I think it might have been the Italeri/Testors kit. Dan, you are correct as the build on the instructioin manual look horrible! The model looks much more square than what I have! This is, I think, the box art of the kit that I had.

Thanks Bill! I was told by Doug Estabrooks, a New England modeler, about the overspray trick by holding a piece of cardboard above the chassis and spraying just the edge. Worked pretty good! I got the maroon engine stand from the AMT 1939/1940 Ford Custom Tudor Sedan kit #2403. There is a different style of engine stand that is in the AMT 1957 Ford Thunderbird ProShop kit, too. And, there is an engine stand that holds the engine block in the Revell 1968 Dodge Charger and 1969 Dodge Chager Daytona Pro Modeler kit.

The Story Lt. Det. Troy and Capt. Spirelli are summoned to the office of the Chief of Detectives for a meeting. The Chief of Detectives tells the two detectives that Homicide and Internal Affairs Bureau are running the murder investigation of Det. Daniel Carlyle. Capt. Spirelli tries to argue his case, but the Chief of D's tells him that Vice Squad does not investigate murders and that is that. If he has any additional information, then he is to forward that info to Homicide immediately. If the Vice Captain doesn't like the situation, he can quit BPD and go work somewhere else. McNally waits for the skinny woman he saw at Danny's the other night to show up at Danny's apartment. She does show up and goes into Danny"s apartment and after she leaves a couple of hours later, she goes to "work" on a corner nearby. McNally enters Danny's apartment to search it and he finds a used needle and spoon and a small baggie on the kitchen table. She came in to shoot up and mellow out during that two hours. He follows her to find out more about her and what she knows, which may not be much. The Build I assembled the interior this morning. Not a lot of paint detailing since interiors back then were pretty much one or two colors combined. Since thepaintbooth was up and running, I painted the body with Model Master Fathom Green Metallic. There's a lot of flake in this paint! When the paint dries, I'll clearcoat it with Model Master Ultra Gloss Clearcoat. McNally will return...

Thanks Pete! I would like to find a kit of the Tamiya 850 Turbo Estate. I want to replace the aggressive looking tires, but I may damage the wheels in the process, so they will remain mounted as they are. Lowering the suspension will take away from that look . I hope to see you at the next Club meeting! I can''t remember what the box art looks like, it has been that long since I have built the kit. I even did a rather good job airbrushing the body and parts, but I wonder if it was the product or the skill of the builder. At any rate, this should look great when I finish the rebuild!

Thanks Tyler!

Thanks Atin! I have started Bare Metal Foiling the Aston this morning. At this point, I'm about halfway through foiling this small car. I still have to foil the front and rear windshield frames and the B pillars

I had to Google Image a Volvo 760 to see just what you were referring to and you are correct. There is an angle between the taillights where the license plate is mounted. I'll consider it, but it sounds like extra work that I may not want to do.
