  1. thanks guys, got the interior mostly done, chassis done along with engine. Polished the body and painted the whitewall inserts an off white color to tie on to the car a bit better. they still look more white in pics than in person so will give them a slightly darker coat tomorrow
  2. Thanks guys , Darryl, the real cars are wild so the paint should reflect that, much like the funny cars of the 70's that had names, Pro mods should as well and the models we build should reflect that imho
  3. Decided I wanted a merc with a nice set of traditional styled flames on it. Painted the black a few months ago and left it to sit, Got it back out last Monday gone and applied a "Lazy Modeller" mask on it and got busy with the airbrush. 1st was a light grey primer over the black, then a self mixed banana/cream base which for some reason spat and hissed out of the gun,Applied a gold base coat over the worst of the spits and applied candy yellow then a candy orange and finally a candy red,Since the gun seemed to be behaving itself I blended the front in a little better with more of the cream color. Gave it a light clear and removed the mask. Gave the whole car a light coat then a slight wet coat then 20 minutes later 2 wet coats straight after each other of Duplicolor rattle can clear. these pics are how it turned out, I'll give it a light wetsand and polish over the weekend.
  4. no problem, glad if it helps
  5. to a large degree you would be right Mike but the decal sheet is lacking the grille, and that would not be that easy to paint
  6. funnily enough, most of the pics I have of both colored cars have the windscreen cutout. Project is looking good Joe !
  7. Thanks guys, appreciate it Dennis I'm sure they varied from car to car but all the Polar lights chassis are identical, the only difference is that the rear of the Mustang variants have to have about a qtr inch cut off the rear. That said, they are a very nice rendition of a Logghe chassis.

    57 Ford wagon

must have pushed it in when I was moving it around. It has a metal axle at the back the could have afforded to be an 1/8th" longer
  9. Thanks guys, learnt some things from this build and following Clays build that should make the next even better
  10. Thanks Joe, I got a couple more polar lights on the go already as in bodies painted and decaled and motors and chassis together ready for paint

    57 Ford wagon

Thanks for all the reply's guys kind of i did put an engine in it.But decided it was too much work to cut the hood out. Its going to live in a cabinet with the hood on so I didnt bother with a radiator or anything else under the hood. Gary that would be a secret nah mate its the wagon, I have the 58 sedan delivery too but the 59 will be the next resin body on the list, already mixed the paint for it so am pretty keen to get started, just a few more half dones to wrap up first
  15. ^^^^^^^ it should but it doesn't ,no provisions for anything else or any other way of doing it in the kit. Beautiful job as always , your builds never disappoint on the eye candy factor
