  1. just the smell of nitro and burning rubber
  2. Moved house towards the end of last year and have had trouble getting on here since. But there's the new drag stuff since last July PT 1
  3. looking good Joe, guessing I'm gonna have the same fun when I start my Goeske Roadrunner next year. Hey at least the cockpit assembly is easily enough moved in these Polar lights kits, imagine if it was a Revell chassis ,
  4. Todd, yes from the 2nd release special edition version I think, it has these and the stock rims and tires. Thanks again fellas
  5. cheers Dale, but not my style ????????????? I try to be rather diverse in what I build, from mild customs to all out full detail pro mods and 70's funny cars to the odd tuner or old lead sled then theres a tractor puller finished just after a F1 styled 32 coupe. Guess I'll have to try harder !!!

  7. or decal hell, depending on your experiences with them , very cool Darryl, love your builds man !
  8. thanks guys this one came very close to the 1st model smashed, there's a reason I havent seen a lot of these built over the years and now I know why. the diff and all 3 engines have to go in almost simultaneously not the easiest task with only 2 hands, add to that hopeless instructions............... Would I build another? funnily enough yes but it wouldn't be the same as this (I have an Alison sitting in a box around here somewhere)......
  9. thanks guys appreciate it. Not really any issues though the headers are a bit tricky to get lined up. The colors are HOK transparent blue and yellow concentrate, mixed for the green. Mine was a second hand kit just missing the playing card decals. Wouldnt mind doing another with different colors though
  10. not too sure if if fits in here but ...... it does run supercharged alcohol burning engines and runs in a straight line but I digress, the old AMT tractor/puller nearly box stock (only deviation was the injector hats) Paint is candy yellow faded to candy orange then back to yellow. not the easiest kit to put together as all three engines and the diff need to go in together almost similtaneously
  11. Box stock build while playing with candy paint,

Cleared with Dupli color Acrylic/Enamel straight from the rattle can 1 mist then 2 wet coats 20 minutes or so, after after a couple of days drying flattened it back with a superfine fingernail polish stick, Then a quick application of Tamiya fine then finish polishes , and lastly a quick rub over with Mequires car wax. All up from the sanding stick to wax is about 30 minutes at most.

Pretty much box stock, only deviation was I drilled out the kits radio face and put in a cd and a set of keys in the ignition. I used Lazy Modeller paint masks, awesome product thats fairly priced, wet sanded the black base coat the left it for a couple of months(building other projects) laid mask in place and primered gently over the mask them mixed the off white on the front which I faded out part way where the yellow would be. Then applied gold base coat from the back to where it just started overlapping the cream(off white). Then sprayed yellow candy from partway through the cream to just past where the orange candy would start, then the orange over lapping the yellow to almost the ends then a red candy overlapping the orange to the ends of the licks then misted it around the ends of the shorter licks
  14. just be glad its half behind the camera and not a full view ya cheeky bugger !! Thanks Donn. And Thanks to all who took the time to comment . I'll have it up in under glass very soon.
  15. cheers guys, just got the lake pipes and part of the exhaust to go (yeah I forgot to install it, so I'll just re engineer it so I can get it on). wasnt so much a forgot just ddin't think about the lakes (installed last) being capped with exhaust fumes having no place to go.
