  1. Wow man just wow !!!! Havent been doing much at all, just drooling . Some seriously outstanding work you're doing so thanks again for sharing how you do it. Ps, I liked the first hood bulge better too, could be the angle but this one almost looks like a cowl scoop
  2. great job Jack, I cant see anything to critique here
  3. some outstanding work you got going on here Chris, keep it up man,I'm learning heaps here.
  4. real quick mockup to check for any wheelbase and/or any other fit problems no pics of the olds yet as that has its own kit chassis to start with. Colors have been chose for all four with artwork decided on for two so far
  5. I think that would alienate to many people, would count me out for sure. Maybe it's just me but I had a hard enough time trying to work out the paint for four cars that are renowned for wild paint . Oh and have to change the 69 mustang to a 06, its an original mint MPC with no box, its also too small even at 1/25th to fit the top sportsman chassis
  6. Sat down and worked mine out last night, two questions though. 1; do we post updates in this thread ? or make our own in the workshop? (or in my case the drag section) 2; Do you want in progress or just finished shots?. Anyway Red horse known as War 69 mustang pro modified Black horse known as Famine 57 chevy pro modified Pale horse known as Death 90's olds pro modified White horse known as Pestilence 53 stude pro modified
  7. Ok ,I'll join in the fun, might get me out of this blah/slump I seem to be in at the moment. Seven months is ample time for 4 cars
  8. Thanks Jeff, thats awesome of you to share. As for the narrower, longer, lower and bullet shape, I personally feel thats where pro mod is starting to lose its appeal. They're going the way of the funnycar, a unrecognizable wedge with a blob on top. Not a critique of your build at all, you have thus far at least, got the perfect blend of streamlining and identity of what it was/is. Anywho keep at it and thanks again for sharing your techniques with us.
  9. Alright, I think I hate you now . Man you have that front end looking so natural it almost still looks stock, thats a sign of great work there. Can you tell us/me how you did the headlight area? please. Are you going to get this cast? seems a shame not too, anyways keep up the stellar work, we'll be watching.
  10. In the words of Bill and Ted, Most excellent dude!!
  11. Uh me again lol, I made one out of a couple old engine covers( dont know from where, in a huge box of stuff I was given, possibly SOHC (FORD CAMMER) ). link to build if you're interested http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v392/awesome55/pickups/not%20yet%20pickedup/ just an idea for you
  12. John, first off this looks like a damm cool project. 2ndly that style of snorkel scoop isn't generally used with supercharged ie dragster engines, its more to direct air downward into the carburetors on normally aspirated or nitrous oxide assisted ones. Here's a typical top fuel dragster engine typical front engine motor pro mod pro stock where you mount the motor and spacers between ie manifold and blower, blower and hat or tunnelram and carbs will help you get the height you need to clear the body/greenhouse. Going by the look, room-wise you might not even need a gearbox but more of a transfer case from the back of the motor directly to the front of the diff. Hope this has helped somewhat
  13. I agree, there a lot of great details in this one, thumbs up man
  14. This was well worth waiting for Tommy, excellent work all round
  15. great work Jeff, its looking great already
  16. Wow ! That looks great Chris, gonna look awesome when its all back together
  17. No, I thought I was going to have to but she sits right where it is, As the pics in the first post show all I did was cut the backing plate with the spindles off, cleaned both surfaces (sanded) and remounted them about 4 mm higher. Don't think you could go any lower if using the supplied exhaust as its the thickness of paper off the deck with the car dropped like this. HTH's a bit
  18. Looks good from here too Aaron
  19. glad you guys sorted it out . going by the rather vague instructions ,that was the way it looked, even the block flat spot was shaped the way I installed it.Not that it matters I'm not wiring or plumbing it so it will never run anyway . Besides do you realize how much of it can be seen when everything else is done ? Not a lot. Glad it was pointed out as I have the Yenko and a RS to build at some stage, dont want to get caught out there again . Anyhow, got the decals on, not impressed. They laid down alright but look very dull with a hint of red showing through.
  20. around 90% of what I buy is for a specific 1:1 that I want to capture the look of (more so than replicate). The other 10% are usually to good of a deal to pass up though in saying that it still has to be something that interests me.Now I have around 250 kits, built 25 last year , working on the 6th so far this year so would theoretically have about 10 years of building left if I didnt replace each built with at least one sometimes 2 more kits. I'm only 42 (though I feel much older) so I dont really think I'm hoarding or collecting. I can walk into the hobby shop and not buy anything, but that maybe more because of limited stock and unlimited prices .
  21. They to scared to leave, I told them I'm one of the most laid back slow builders around and they be worked to death if they were to build for anyone else . What you not finished yet ???????????? :P
  22. Thanks Jeff, but I was going for an emo look lol. Got a bit more done today was really happy with the way the dash turned out till I realized it should of had black gauges with white no.s a few mockup shots going to give it a wash tomorrow , foil it then see if the decals will play nice
  23. I think its gonna look great, if ya ever finish it  . Nah it seriously looks great man, proves what someone with talent and desire can do with a substandard kit
