Four months of foul language really paid off on that beauty Bill. My favorite of your builds so far. Apparently, the judges were kind of fond of it too. Congratz !! Love. love, love the precision on the upper fuel lines.

SHINY !! Another beautiful build Bill. See? More is better !!
-
Very impressive. Of the 4 builds I did last year, the CTH was the most fun due to it's ease of assembly and required less clean up than any model I've done. I missed the videos. Can u link them?

Thanks Ira and Brett. The Jungle car is my fave too. It placed 1st and 2nd in both the contests I entered it in last year. Funny, I thought the Dart would do better, but hey, Judges !! What are ya' gonna do, right?
-
That started life as the L.A. Dart. It is loaded with lead in the motor, fuel tanks and wheelie bar. It'll sit normal or do a wheelstand with a simple touch to the nose. I see them on evilbay, but I got mine at the local hobby shop. Stripes not so bad. Now, if ya' wanna' discuss the stars.....

I want to wish each and every one of you a safe and prosperous New Year. I've been thrilled to be posting these builds since March and I couldn't be happier that I've found you. Thanx especially to Gregg, Harry and Romell for keeping it a fun place to interact and learn.

Stupid "Car Toons" question.
Nitrozilla replied to Craig Irwin's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I suppose there could have been a Mustang, but I'm remembering a Toronado with the snout nose smokin' the front tires. I'll keep fingers crossed for both of us Craig. Just did a search and didn't find either one. -
Stupid "Car Toons" question.

Hey Jairus, while you're at it, think you could find a pic of Wonder Warthogg and that incredible Toronado he had ? -
What do you store your equipment in?

Lemme see. I paid a total of $8.00 for my "wall unit". The Yoda and Han Solo cups were gifts. I couldn't begin to figure the cost of all of my supplies and stuff though. To me, they're priceless. -
In need of 1970 Jungle Jim Camaro F/C pictures

You may be hiding your true identity with a fictitious name for a legitimate reason, but since it translates into an obsenity, that's not how we do things around here. I'd be careful if I was you Charlie. -
I've already added this to my list of projects for next year. The only hint I will give is that it will be a gas because of the way I will alter it.......

Great stuff. Gotta love the oldies !!

Major progress today with the cockpit finished and I promised Niko a tutorial on how I'm doing the fire bottle nozzles. The pilot is firmly strapped down and I added a photo etch parking brake pedal for the belt release. Also attached the master cylinder to the pedal arm. I put a coat of Future on the helmet and it is nice and shiny. Thinking about putting a couple of drops on the goggle lenses too. Took some extra pics of the rear end with the driveshaft in place because I was hoping we'd get a better view of the brake line tees with the line going to the master cylinder. First up though is a mini tutorial on how I'm making the nozzles for the fire bottles. Easy peesy folks. Just take a length of .025 solder, then using a high pressure squeeze, flatten out one end. I use a flat nose plier that is part of a Kobalt 6 piece mini plier set I picked up at Lowes. If necessary, use a huge honkin' hammer, (kidding!!). Trim to desired length. Now split the end with an X-Acto and with a simple twist, separate the ends. Add a fitting and you're done, ready to route along the chassis and aim at the pilot or engine. Sorry about the blurriness, but like myself, sometimes it doesn't focus

Thanx for the nods Gang. For me, the belt guard is the hi-lite (so far) of this one. I would love to see a photo etch sheet of these made. Can you imagine all of the possibilities for the Big 3 ? Lots of different engine sizes could be represented, not to mention markings for: Cuda / Chevy / Ford / Hemi / etc. And let's not forget the one that started it for me: USA 1.

I'm starting a petition for Gregg to add a "Jaw Drop" emoticon to the selection........

That's a shame. I hear all of the hobby shops are open 24 hours a day on the Light Side of the Moon........

Okie Dokie. Now that we've got the pleasantries out of the way.........lol I'm pretty sure that it's a law that you have to post detailed pictures of each model. Feel free to start with the car of your choice or the car of my choice. That would be the Big John car 'cuz I like MOPARs. No, wait. The Super Charger 'cuz I like MOPARs. No wait. The Blue Max 'cuz I like blue cars with HEMIs. Or you decide 'cuz I'm easy. Don't let that get around........

That's more like it. I've seen the light and it is good. Continued success in your progress.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
Nitrozilla replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Wowza Chris. Now that you got the easy part done on the seat, I don't envy your task of making what looks to be a compound curved piece for the bottom sides. If anybody can figure it out, I'm sure you've got a handle on it. Good Luck. -
Ultra kewl build Niko. Nice detailing on the wiring, hoses and fuel pump. I can only assume that you had a header clearance issue with the steering linkage. If you can, make a new link from the upper steering to the lower steering arm that allows it to be be just above the headers. I'll have your question on the fire extinguisher lines answered today or tomorrow depending on how quick I can get my chores done today. I also noticed you had a problem with a front wheel with the outer rim chopped from where the sprue was attached. A couple of ways to fix that now or in the future. Sand down the face of the wheel and make a new ring or, when all else fails, make sure it's at the bottom when you put it on the axle. None of this advice is ever to be taken as a criticism of your skills. I just want you to be the best builder you can be and you are well on your way Buddy. :D
