  1. Could probably use one of these to build the Terraplane...a little top chopping, front end mods, along with the resin Hudson grille. The Danbury Mint 1/24 1937 Studebaker pickup.
  2. Looking better and better with each post Preston! Thanks for sticking with it and keeping us updated
  3. Looks like they are all separate pieces, just the way we need 'em!
  4. Only Lindberg made a '53. One of their best kits though, I've never heard any complaints about it and have seen some nice builds with it...
  5. Looking GREAT Rich!
  6. Here's one standing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25th-Drag-Racer-Prepainted-Resin-Figure-/200889651104?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item2ec5f4cfa0
  7. Good stuff Tony!!! All SUPER nice!
  8. IMHO, and if 1/24 scale is your thing, the best ones are in the Monogram late 70s El Camino with 'camper' (topper). They are deep and deeper and NICE!
  9. Love it!!!
  10. Sooo, I must apologize for my lack of updates. Lots-O-things going on in my life, and not much of it is bench time! I made a decision about the door panels I hope you'll all agree with. Billy had painted a body-color accent stripe on the door panels which I thought was a GREAT idea at the time. Now that the interior is nearing completion, I can't seem to make it look right with this bright blue in the middle of the door panel...too outstanding! Here's what I decided to do...shaved the manual window cranks off, will be replaced with photoetch power window switches, this is a classy ride! Anyway, I opened up the 'windows' for the accent trim and tried a few things: Here's how Billy had done it: Here it is with the blue fade body stripe placed behind: And this is how I think it looks BEST! I'm not a big fan of wood inside a car, but this 'torched' basswood looks nice and completely right fot this car! Elegant hi-performance!!! It'll look even nicer once its got some gloss on the wood... Thoughts??? Comments???
  11. Luc, the guys at Motor City Resin Casters do a great 1/25 Econoline in resin: http://motorcityresincasters.com/74E100Van.htm
  12. Funny! Sure Rich, change it for the 'season'...you can always change it back to your famous old one, or one of your old Dodge, or...
  13. I have several ESCI kits, I like them mostly because of the subject matter, but the quality is good as well. The Jeep CJ-7 kit was done in at least two different versions, and in most ways is the best CJ kit ever done. OPEN U-JOINTS on the driveshafts!!! Also the only way to get the '81-up hardtop doors with paddle handles and factory hi-back bucket seats! But this 'POOH JEANS' BMW??? LOL Maybe if there would have been a pair of these, the jeans wouldn't be soiled!
  14. Don at the modelhaus casts a '68 sport coupe body (hood molded in), as well as the bumpers: http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4041&p=67602 http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?y=60&c=4041&pt=7&part=1&Submit=Search
  15. Bill, I would have sent you a complete styrene OHC HEMI...it's kitted in the MPC prostreet 1970 Coronet! Glad you'll be back on this cool project again
  16. Yes Nick, I agree for the most part. But do you have a kit of a 30s Chrysler Airflow? You can build one if you buy a clapped out Franklin Mint!!!
  17. Its especially OK to grab these diecasts when you blow them apart, strip the paint, modify the body, and kitbash with styrene and/or resin parts. Then its a kit! As you say though, some things just aren't available in styrene or resin. These are FUN to modify, and get quite the reaction at show tables like "Wow, where did that come from, I didn't know there was a kit of that"?
  18. Nicely done Ray! Me likey Impalas
