  1. Excellent work as usual Manny!!!
  2. Wow! Super realistic, great job on a seldom seen subject!
  3. Love it!!! Great job on the doors and superb detailing inside the van!
  4. Excellent Thomas!!! Great detailing, neat that you put speed tape over the wheel weights! Love the old Tyrrells
  5. I buy the clear plastic Plano fishing lure boxes at Wally World. Adjustable dividers inside allow for big 'ol 4x4 tires or smaller car tires.
  6. Yes, buy with confidence
  7. Hope to see many of these on the bench here, including yours Rodney!
  8. With aluminum sure, brass may not like to snap as readily. You'll be surprised how easily thin sheet will cut, one of two passes with a new blade.
  9. Thanks for posting pics of your kit Jens! That body looks nicely done, I wonder if any of the old tooling from these long out-of-production kits is still in the hands of manufacturers, or destroyed?
  10. If it's thin, you'll get the best cuts without curling with a new #11 blade and a straight edge as a guide...watch your digits though!
  11. That is SOOOO cool Sam! Might have to check 'em out at some point It's great that you're doing something about keeping up your health after your scare, glad you are OK!
  12. Ken, that Testors (Gunze) styrene must be of an odd formula because my Testors GTS body is ruined too Chuck, your Pantera with opening doors is very cool, and who knew some company did one that way? Thanks for posting! Body looks very accurately shaped, any identifying markings on it anywhere to hint as to manufacturer if you can't remember?
  13. Here's the Wiki page on the E-type: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_E-Type and an excerpt from it: Low Drag Coupé (1962) [edit] Shortly after the introduction of the E-Type, Jaguar management wanted to investigate the possibility of building a car more in the spirit of the D-Type racer from which elements of the E-Type's styling and design were derived. One car was built to test the concept designed as a coupé as its monocoque design could only be made rigid enough for racing by using the "stressed skin" principle. Previous Jaguar racers were built as open-top cars, because they were based on ladder frame designs with independent chassis and bodies. Unlike the steel production E-Types, the LDC used lightweight aluminium. Malcolm Sayer retained the original tub with lighter outer panels riveted and glued to it. The front steel sub frame remained intact, the windshield was given a more pronounced slope, and the rear hatch was welded shut. Rear brake cooling ducts appeared next to the rear windows, and the interior trim was discarded, with only insulation around the transmission tunnel. With the exception of the windscreen, all cockpit glass was perspex. A tuned version of Jaguar's 3.8-litre engine with a wide-angle cylinder head design tested on the D-Type racers was used. Air management became a problem and, though a higher performing vehicle than its production counterpart, the car was never competitive.
  14. Very nice build Al I would assume she liked it so much she went & found one to buy
  15. AWESOME!!!
  16. Me likey Impalas!
  17. EXCELLENT!!! Everything is better with an LS V8 in it
  18. Do you have an unbuilt kit you can take pics of Jens?
  19. Bryan, I've never seen any GM pickups in resin or styrene earlier than 1936...(I do hope that there is one out there I haven't heard of yet though ) Danbury Mint did a 1/24 diecast of a roof-less '31 if all else fails. These can be had cheap sometimes, especially when damaged.
  20. WELCOME Dave!!! Great collection you've got there, better get building!

Neat build of something you don't see everyday!
  22. ALL are great Dave, I especially like the '41 too!
  23. Here is a 1:1 that's ALWAYS done it for me...the DeTomaso Pantera! I've lusted after these since I was a kid, and I've been wanting to build a scale version. I realize there is a currently produced Fujimi kit, but this is about the old, out-of-production kits. I picked up a gluebomb Testors (Gunze Sangyo) GTS about 8 or so years ago, but ruined the body by stripping it I recently found a sealed USAirfix (ex-not sure who produced it originally?) kit CHEAP and figured why not, even though the box art had always stopped me before (the front-end looks too long and tapered on the boxtop rendering???) Good news...the kit body ISN'T out of proportion Anyway, I compared it the the Testors body and it almost looks as though they were made by the same company, even though there isn't a Gunze logo anywhere on the sprue (there is a logo on it, but I can't identify the company). Simple curbside kit, low parts count, poseable fronts, ex-motorized chassis. Here's how it looks: And a few mockups with the TESTORS wheels/tires: Anyone that has any other old Pantera kits, please post what's in the box. There seems to have been LOTS of them...Entex, ARII, Nitto, Nichimo, IMAI, Marui, and others???
  24. WELCOME Kevin! Another Ohio resident here
