That Moebius AWB car has been announced for a long time ago. There should be a thread about it on the Car Kit News & Reviews section somewhere. I'm looking forward to that kit for sure, you can never have too many AWB Match Racers! Edit: Here it is... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/112838-seen-in-the-mobeius-booth-at-nnl-east/

I would probably wait until this Moebius kit is out in the stores instead of making my own conversion.

I was looking for cars from Soviet Union but found nothing... Why Soviet Union? Well, I thought it had to be the only country where they could have produced something that ugly!
-
You're right on that! Luckily the only warped bodies that I've heard of are on these '65 Plymouth kits, as I have a couple of Hudson Hornets, Chrysler C300s, Ford Pickups and a '61 Pontiac which have correct shape bodies. Of course the problem should be fixed somehow as far as future kits go. Thanks, this was just the info I needed! What do you mean with hot water, just "a bit hot" or nearly boiling? ...Or something in between?
-
I agree with that. And even though I could get a new replacement body, I should pay the shipping for that one. So instead of trying to get one, I guess my only real choice is to try and fix the body that I have now. I also have the Melrose Missile kit and it has a warped body as well, but it's luckily not as bad as this one, but then again my regular Belvedere kit has a perfect body in it.

I just got my copy as well, a bit over $50 shipped, from eBay. Big thumbs up for the seller. The package was shipped immediately after my payment and the tracking worked until the end! But as usual, it took less time for the package to travel from USA to Finland than what it took to travel from Customs to my nearest post office... And those are not far away from each others... The kit is very nice. Except that my body is warped pretty much, the front fenders and roof need to be fixed at least. If I can straighten those out, then I can see if it's also warped from some other areas... Hopefully I can fix it, otherwise this will be an expensive parts kit....

What did you see on the road today?
W-409 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Last night I saw this Cadillac Hearse cruising around in the snow. Great to see real cars in traffic during the winter too, not only those new plastic egg-shaped things... This picture was taken last year. -
Nice to see a new kit manufacturer out there! Also, there can never be too many kits of 3rd Gen GM A-Bodies. Unfortunately that price is just a bit too much for a Stock Car kit. I mean they're cool and I have a bunch of them with plans to build them all, but I'm not that crazy about Stock Car models that I'd pay $40 plus all shipping charges and customs etc for that kit. Once it is on my hands it would be somewhere between $75-$80 so it's too much. If it was a stock, or at least street version, I'd be happy to pay that amount all day long. Anyway, I hope these will sell great and I'm interested to see what other kits they will produce after this one.

That gave me a good laugh! X2 on both of those sentences. Now I just need to figure out what make it is.

Great to see one of these Falcons finally finished. Watching the WIP thread was very interesting and the end result is definitely worth the wait. Simply amazing, don't know what else could I say that hasn't been said already.

Wow! That thing is huge ! I had to check from the box top picture that is it even 1/24 or 1/25 scale. Looks like I'll need to play with the pulleys on my Supercharged Chevy Stovebolt to get more boost on it in order to beat that monster.
-
Wow that was a rough starting point! To be honest if I was a resin caster I simply couldn't sell anything that bad... Despite that you turned that thing into a beautiful model. I'm sure many people would have given up even before they started, so my hat is off to you for actually building it and making it look that good.
-
At least I was in the correct country as I was searching for Renaults and other French cars....
-
I hope you guys can get the problem sorted out. This whole build looks so great that I can't wait to see the finished product!
-
I hate to say it, but I'm absolutely clueless on this one. I've never seen anything like that, so interesting to see what it really is. All I know is that it's not pretty.
-
Charlie... I'm pretty sure we all want to see the finished pics on this fantastic build. So if you can't figure out how to post the pics, I can help you by posting the pics in here. If you want to do that, just E-Mail the pictures to me and I'll post them here. My E-Mail is S-SS570(At)hotmail.com

Alright guys, count me in with a '62 Chevy Bel Air Bubbletop. The starting point is an old AMT '62 Bubbletop builtup that I've had laying around for years. It has most of the parts except for the engine that I robbed for Don Nicholson's '61 Impala Super Stock car. That said, it's the perfect choice for this build. And while some of the other Cannonballers seem to trust in modern powerplants and technology, I'll be hopping up a '50s Chevy Stovebolt Six for this thing. Because that engine is pretty weak as stock, it'll need some speed parts on it and most importantly somekind of a power adder. Of course, a turbocharger would be obvious choice, but because I like to go a bit different route, I'm going to install a supercharger setup from a '57 Ford on that Chevy engine. Here are a couple of pics of the starting point...

That's a nice and unique build! We don't see many of these old British Fords built, so it's great to see one for a change. Especially when it's built this well. Nice work overall, I like how it looks! Anyway, to make it legal for Gasser classes, you'll need at least a roll bar (All Supercharged Gassers had to use a roll bar) and a rear bumper or push bar. Or then you could run just like it is in Altered class.
-
That looks excellent! I think you got the overall look just right for a late '50s/early '60s Hot Rod. The color fits very well to this body, but my favorite part is definitely the upholstered Tuck 'n' Roll wheel wells and roof! Very nice work overall.
-
Yep I understand that very well, and that's probably why the shipping prices often are so high... But, let's see what happens with the tracking!

Well, unfortunately they are, and they use it a lot at least here in the Southern Finland... The best days in the winter are those when it's so cold that the road salt doesn't work. Of course the roads are very slippery then, but then we just have to drive carefully... And we can be happy that there is none of that disgusting road salt all over the chassis.
-
I picked one of those AquaRod kits for about $25 a couple of years ago... Either that's not so rare or then mine was just very cheap. It was complete, only some chassis parts were painted and glued together. Now I just need to build that. I've never seen that Strip & Surf Van anywhere. I'd love to have one of those Vegas on my stash but finding them is not easy... Those Red Alerts are not common either, but I've seen one or two pop up for sale sometimes.
