European " Lucas Oil " Top Fuel Dragster WIP
W-409 replied to NitroJunky's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Yes, Risto has very good car. But be careful with Timo Lehtimäki, he is very hard to win! In Alastaro semifinal there was Lehtimäki against Erbacher. I said to dad that Lehtimäki can win Urs, one man in front of us said to me that Urs is european champion and and and.... After Timo took the win, he was quiet...! -
Thank you for the replies! I have an RC powerboat, it's a bit like Chriscraft and it goes well. And yes workbench is very good, ''Hi Tech'' I think. It was fun build, next time I win a car like this, I build it like same way!
-
This is very nice model, one of the best ones I've seen for a while... That paintjob is perfect, flames and it's very smooth! Engine detailing is very good, interior is very nice and so on... Now I'm waiting your Nova project, start looks nice and I'll follow it!
-
Well, that name is not perfect, because this diorama is completed. That name means that engine's work is in progress... Cylinder heads are new ones, new camshaft and so on... But thank you for your comment, Ed.
-
I have been thinking of building a diorama, idea from garage has built many, many times but I had project engine from '66 Nova Pro Street so that was a good start for diorama... AMT has made quite bad cylinder heads to this 350'' engine. First I removed everything unnecessary. Then I glued small pieces of electric wire for bolts. Bolts are thin metal wire. I made valve springs from the same metal wire. I made a new damper from plastic tube, where I drilled a small hole. Floor is painted with Humbroll 56 where I painted Humbroll 53 on it and a bit of sand... Quite good, a few little parts and details, diorama was ready! Here is the original AMT and my version, any better...? And completed model: Let me know, what you think!

Yes, I know, this is ugly car but I won Marui kit from Model-Expo, because I was the best junior in Stock with '65 Malibu Sedan, Street Rod with '29 Ford Rat Rod and Box Stock's the second place and best junior... Kit looks good from fast look, but it's everything but good... Interior is ok, the best part from this car. I would not build this at home, so I took this with me to summer cottage, where this was as bad as enough... I started from the body. Painted it with Maston white and then some clear on it. Interior is light brown, seat belt materials were included, this is a boxstock. Chassis is quite bad quality, it's possible to build this with batteries and motor. They are not included... Same thing with working lights. This was quite fast build, started on sunday afternoon and finished on tuesday. I had a bit problems with body parts but after all I got this ready. Now pictures: Who says that he has a better place to build...? And place, where I was taking pictures: What you think?

I can post more pics from Andy ''King Of Europe'' Carter's Top Fuel dragster if you want later today... Nice and interesting project, Carter was of course here at Alastaro but Risto Poutiainen from Finland beated him at the semifinal. (Poutiainen crashed with Stig Neergård on friday but on saturday he drove to number one qualifuyer and he were runner up... -
Very good job on it you did! Nice paintjob and that Sickfish is very good name for it. Nice job with the engine too! Great model!
-
This is very nice El Camino. Nice paintjob, engine looks great, 348'' is very nice engine, but 409'' is better... But very good job all over!
-
Wow, very nice that stance is perfect, and great wheel choice! Paintjob looks very good and that engine detailing is awesome, I like these 50's cars, many of them has a high hood so there can be blower very nicely! But very nice model anyway...!
-
Nice job on this, that paintjob looks great and smooth. Ford Flathead is very nice engine and you have built it nicely! Interior pictures, please... But that chassis is very nice, only I think those colour choices aren't perfect ones, maybe some black on it would help, now everything is grey or silver... But this is very good looking model from a real nice car, so keep on the good work, these old Fords never die, they just run faster!!!
-
This is going to be nice! Very low and I'm very happy that there are no pling pling wheels, I mean bigger than 15'' with low profile tires! Those are very good choice to this, 409 in it...?
-
Ok, then I might try to order with somebody here from Finland. Thanks, Chris for help!
-
Nice and very interesting project you have, Railfreak. '59 Cadillac is very good looking car and I like hearses/ambulances too and that's why I've been hunting this model kit for a while... But paintjob looks very nice, keep on the good work!
-
Good looking Corvette! I have '67 Roadster too and now lots of more inspiration. Your paintjob looks great, good details on the interior and specially I like that 427 Turbo Jet- badge on the front fender. Perfect choice for wheels and tires you did!
-
Yes, that's true but I'm not sure of ordering from different countries. Do Modelhaus have the hole rear end, I mean taillight panel and bumbers...?
-
I've been thinking of building that rear end just like it was on '73/'74. It's not impossible but it's not easy to do either... That taillight panel isn't so hard to do, only those new taillinghts are a bit difficult ones. But the biggest problem for now is that Jo-Han has made the rear bumber together with the taillight panel, so I have to find a new bumber to this because I don't want to saw that bumber off. But I was looking for a good looking rear bumber from other cars and 60's Ford Mustangs had quite good rear bumber to this Javelin. I don't know, are they too or too less wide or thick ones... But guys, if you have a bumber like this, please measure out, how wide and thick is it. I looked bumber from my '71 Mustang, but it wasn't as wide as enough so I didn't take it to this car.
-
Very nice Mustang, that colour is perfect and paintjob is great! Those Good Year textes are painted very nicely, wheels are painted nicely too... Engine is great, specially that engine detailing looks perfect.
-
Great start! I like very much that engine detail, it's very great. Waiting more updates....
-
Nice and very nasty looking Ford! Great job on the weathering and I like making hot rods from 50's and 60's cars! You have done it very nicely, keep it going!
-
Nice pickup! That weathering looks very realistic and I like that primered door too... Great job on the engine detail, there are lots of great details! Very nice, keep on the good work, I say!
-
Nice job on this, great paintjob! Here in europe, one '56 Ford pro mod and it ran 5.98 last year, this one
-
Very nice, amazing, awesome, exellent and perfect!!! That paintjob looks mirror and great detailing! I'm working the same kit, it will be Arnie Beswick's car replica. But you did very nice job all over this car!
-
Nice looking but what you are thinking about to the frontend...? I mean, are you going to build longer frontfenders or what...? Well, anyway this project is going to be nice and please, a bit bigger pictures! Keep it going!
