  1. I have really enjoyed following this build from the beginning. Your build quality still amazes me every time you post a new update, even though I know it's going to be top notch. The engine is looking very good and especially that Blower Hat is a beautiful piece of art. I can't wait to see more.
  2. Good Looking Willys Gasser with a beautiful paint job. It's so shiny and smooth... Really sharp details on the engine as well. I built this kit also a couple of years ago and I enjoyed it really much, too.
  3. Santa brought me this kit Yesterday. Since I haven't seen more pictures about this kit's parts, I decided to take some pics and post them here. Not the best quality, but I guess you'll see what this kit includes. Just a couple of notes that I made with a fast look... First the tire problem, yes, I got one Good Year and one Racemaster as well. But I will be sanding the textes away and putting Racemaster decals on the tires so that won't be a big problem. The Newly Tooled seats and wheels are really nice. They will look good once painted and detailed. There is quite a lot of mold flash, but it just needs to be removed. Only really bad thing was that at least in my copy, the window trim is very light and there is a danger that it will disappear under the paint. Just needs to spray thin paint coats and BMF before clear coat I guess. I think that the decal sheet is super nice. This will be an interesting build for sure, and I might start a WIP thread on the Drag Racing Models section at some point... Anyway if anyone wants better pics of some parts, just let me know and I can do that. But in the meanwhile, here you go: http://public.fotki.com/NostalgicDrag/amt-66-grumpys-toy-nova/
  4. Ouch, that's Funny! I just hope that yours will end up better than mine did, since there came a little paint disaster on the last minute rush... But this year, I promise to finish my Charger Daytona.
  5. Thanks for good information and pictures, Bill! I've thought about cutting that extra as well. It looks pretty good like that, yep it might be a bit far back still, but it looks already much better. Thanks, I will do that same thing with my builds as well. See I have a '60 Nomad resin body waiting for my skills to improve and then I'm planning on building many more versions of the '60 and '59 as I've built one Mild Custom already. Edit: And of course Merry Christmas!
  6. This is...Wow! I don't even know where to begin. It looks perfect! Especially that W-Engine is a beautiful piece of art and it is a shame to cover it with an air cleaner... Does this kit have the same issue as Revell '60 Impala does that the engine sits way too far back? My dad has a '60 Impala and when that engine position is compared to Revell's model it's way too far back. If this kit has the same problem, how are you going to be fixing that? I'm very interested in this, since I have many different versions of '59-'60 Impalas to build....

  8. I might 'polish' it smooth to get rid of the dust and then spray a clear coat and do the final polishing and waxing. I think that would solve the problem...?
  9. I'm in with '69 Dodge Charger Daytona! That will be a wild ride with a Hemi!

    My deuce

I like this one. Really stylish build overall. I think the Channeling makes it perfect and that grille with those Chevy Headlights is a nice finishing touch. It fits perfectly. I would have added maybe a couple of details on the engine since it's a Hot Rod without a hood. But it's looking very good like that as well.
  11. Your Fords are always nice to watch. Everything seems to be just right in here. Paint job is very smooth and shiny and sharp BMF work, too. The chassis looks extremely nice as well.
  12. You did an excellent job with this Galaxie. The end result is really nice and I think you got all little details just right. Especially I like the headlight covers.
  13. Teds Modeling Marketplace. You'll find lots of great products from that store. Also Ted is a nice guy to deal with. There are some other stores as well, but basically all I need can be found from Ted's.
  14. Does this kit have 15" wheel option, or are those huge wheels all you can find from the box? If there are 15" wheels with high profile tires, I might get one of these at some point. But if not, then I'll pass since I have no 1/12 scale spare parts... Interesting to see what you will do with yours. The Charger you posted looks so good.
  15. Interesting info, Tom. Thanks! That sounds logical, since it is true that many of the European countries had pretty much the same looking register plates. Gregg, that Montessa Cota is actually having a bit of the same look as my Trial does. Pretty cool looking Bike! Today the Mail brought me a '60 Plymouth Fury resin kit that is made by a friend of mine. The casting looks really good and I can't wait to build mine as a Mild Custom. All Pics Here (Also from his earlier casting, '61 Dodge Phoenix).
  16. That's cool! The sound is amazing. Here's another one. C5 Corvette running 223mph (359,98 km/h) in Finland on a Standing Mile race. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxGnEzPGZA0&feature=player_embedded
  17. That's a good question. Honestly said, I don't know. I guess I'm too young since there were no national sings anymore when I was born. But it might be that some countries had pretty much same looking plates, so that might be one possibility. I'll try to find an answer for this question. Tunturi is a Finnish moped manufacturer. It started in the late '50s and closed its doors in the '90s. Many of those Tunturis aren't very rare here in Finland, because lots of them were sold when they were new. But very few people use them as a daily driver as I do. Mine is 1980 Tunturi Trial, which is actually quite rare model. It was originally made for Trial Racing and I can say that it runs well in the forest as well.
  18. What Did I Get Today? Well, I got a flat tire for this one. Luckily it's already fixed. But these came on the Mail as well. I already sprayed Jo-Han '61 Olds Wagon Mild Custom with that Metallic Green. Those Photo Etch parts are Finnish National Signs that used to be on cars in the 'old days'.
  19. X2. I think it's easier than styrene as well. Though I use styrene sometimes, but that's because I want to learn how to use that stuff better...
  20. Välkommen Kenneth! This is a great place with lots of talented builders who are willing to share their work. Can't wait to see some of your stuff. Hälsar från Finland.
  21. That is incredible build. Your body mods are something that most people probably can't see, but a person who maybe owns a real '92 Mustang does and everyone who knows how much work you put into this can appreciate it even more than if it was "just" a Super Nice BoxStock build. I had a lot of fun following your WIP thread and there I saw the first time that Revell's body is not correct when there was a modified one to compare with. The end result looks super. Paint job is very smooth and so shiny and your detailing is spot on. Everything looks just perfect to me. Great work. Are these already for sale? What would be the price? I might get one at some point when I pick the Revell kit...
  22. Really nice work everyone. It was a really tough choice and after all thinking I decided to go with the car that I think would cross the finishing line first ('71 Duster). But everyone did so great job that it was a tough one. I didn't get my ProCharger powered Ford Torino finished this year because of painting disaster that happened on the last minutes... Next year if the topic is good I will finish something for this, I promise.
  23. Very nice Impala. Your paint job is excellent and sharp BMF work finishes it off. Nice detailing in the engine, too. X-Frame Chevrolets are always nice to see and especially if they are built as nicely as this. Only thing I would have done different would be the wheels, those Steel Wheels just look "Right" to me. But of course it's just my opinion that doesn't matter.
  24. Thanks. Yep it's a Stock Eliminator Drag Car with 350 SBC & TH-350 automatic trans. So far the best ET is 12,369 with 106mph top speed. For the next season, we'll change the final gear ratio from 5:13 to 5:38 and hopefully that will improve the ET... Here is a video of me driving in my first race. That race ended up in break out, despite that I hit the brakes before the finishing line... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCacR4N92Ug
  25. Same Here . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_Bscna8NH0 This will be an interesting project for sure. Your building skills are excellent and that 1:1 car looks great. I can't wait to see how it comes together, doesn't matter if it's Full Detail or not.
