  1. Cruz, yours is looking GOOD! Got one of these kits too. I think that all of the basics for building a nice mild kustom are there. The whitewalls really surprised me! The extra detailed chassis doesn't matter a whole lot to me since I usually don't look at the undercarriage on my shelf, but it's just what the majority of today's modelers are looking for. The box art is magnificent and many of you might not even know what that came from, but there was models with that same style box which are pretty rare now. Brad's artwork is soooo nice! I think when mine is built I will cut the box up and frame it just because it's so cool! AMT is touching home with me and really always has. To me, the hobby is actually surging and getting better. The Starliner kit is great, go get one before they are gone! THANKS AMT! I didn't look for a trophy inside, but to me it doesn't matter if it's missing...it's not a collectible, it will be built.
  2. Here comes another "got mine" frenzy! I usually flip through real quick and then when everyone leaves me alone I will sit down and read. Well I flipped through this time to find the article by Brad Leisure on the '60 Starliner and Super Bee kits. I sat here and read it all the way through. I just wanted to say that's one of the more enjoyable articles I have read in awhile. It was almost like him sitting here telling me about it. Very well done! (not to mention I love REAL box art!) It's a great issue! I won't spoil it for anyone......GO GET ONE HURRY!
  3. looks like a lot of you prefer plaques like me. Cash was brought up a few times.....makes me think a bit. Would you be more tentive to enter a show for cash prizes vs. plaques? BTW.....i just sent this once and it posted 20 times! I deleted every single post in which all of them had different lengths of my reply.
  4. $5 if you just come to look, $10 to enter models and kids under 14 free. I know what ya mean....I hope you can find a way to make it.
  5. that's pretty cool! never seen one with that Desoto grille. good thinking outside the box, I like it!
  6. be sure to say hello!
  7. I was wished Happy Mother's Day yesterday, but I explained I am not THAT kind of a MOTHER!
  8. I just found that I will be there, so who's going?
  9. man that is nice to see! watched the movie, it's pretty sad that this company didn't make it. killer build!
  10. very nice clean build! what scale? is it 1/25 or close to it and more 1/24?
  11. I am not an "award monger"....hehe ,but I prefer plaques because they can hang on the wall vs. making a bunch of room for trophies to dust.
  12. well that explains it! i am running 2gigs DDR , 2ghz athlon. these are the two main ingredients for a fast internet experience. I would like to upgrade to 8gigs ram and larger processor.. A lot of people get irritated about slow computing...but most of them have really old computers needing work. MAC? .... I am on a PC that I built.
  13. what is your computer? just curious because i know i need to rebuild and upgrade mine again.
  14. It's a tad slow for me too. It doesn't take as long as yours though. What is your processor speed? How much ram do you have? Those will make a difference too. Have you made sure your windows are updated? www.windowsupdate.com Do you do disc cleanup periodically? Sometimes cleaning up history and cookies will help things, since over time bugs get in there which will make it slower. Try those things out and see if it helps.
  15. I have not seen the one with the two chevies yet.
  16. good idea, but not too worried about it. it sits on all 4's in the case anyways hehe! I will do a photoshop image though, when I do...i will post here. thanks again everyone!
  17. thank you guys! Randy, when I made the trade I let my buddy keep the booth , phone accessories and stuff.....I would never have used it and he would....I just wanted to build the TTT wheelstander.
  18. way kool! always see the '55 done up this way, but never a '56. Way to go!
  19. Ya know, I was telling myself I will never build another one of these lastnight. On second thought I might just build the Little Red Wagon kit .*not anytime soon though* Thanks for the comp's!
  20. Umm....the race stereotype is really not appropriate here. Hate me if you will.... Paint job is nice btw.
  21. I guess it's about time I finished this one. I started it two years ago and lost interest because like most of us, I kept getting inspired by something else to start on! I started with a fresh kit that I got from a good friend in a trade. (before anyone asks, I let him keep the other parts since I just wanted to build the box art model). I used decals by Gooche and I don't know if they are available anywhere since he quit making decals. Without a long read....this was fun to build and I hope you like it! FYI....I painted the turn signals after photos...oops ALL PHOTOS... http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...uchtone-terror/
  22. you should see what's under the chrome of some of the old Johan bumpers! (swirly multicolor)
  23. thanks everyone! Maybe you will like the next one......it's almost done so I should have it posted here tonight?
  24. CHR1S619, thank you!
