  1. Ok Gregg, I joined just so I could become a "fan" of the magazine....hehe! Thanks to you , I have been in contact with friends I have not seen or heard from in over 15 years, my aunt and uncle on the east coast and my cousin who lives here in Omaha....that is only the tip of the iceberg, now I have seen almost all of my classmates too! I am going to have to ban myself from the site so I can get some building done!
  2. I have been trying to reply to this thread and erased a lengthy one because I didn't want to sound like a jerk. I mean...I don't want to sound like I think of myself as some kind of "pro" because I am not. I enjoy building and creating for myself. I don't care what anyone else thinks of my models, but I do like to share them with others...if they like them COOL...but if not, it's their preference and has nothing to do with how I feel. Sometimes someone says something , but I have taken some of that onto the "next build". Many times I already know what I either messed up on or left out. I do each model the way I feel like doing them, some are more detailed than others...some are just to feel "free" like I did when I was a kid....without the nasty glue and paint mess though! The way we talk, the way we present our models and how we respond to each other "online" is VERY different than how we are in person. How a person perceives us through our "written' words is almost always nicer sounding in person.....some people just can't post something without unintentionally sounding mean. Much like the post I decided not to send, I didn't want anyone to perceive me as thinking my doo-doo don't stink....trust me it does  Not "slamming" you and I don't know if anyone has mentioned it....but if you ever get angry again over anything....think before you type. Many people will read this thread one time....see what you initially said and then never read anymore of the whole thread....they will automatically have a "picture" of you as some hillbilly in his 40s throwing a fit.....that's how I pictured you before I found out you were 13. Take your time....take it easy, build for you ...but if you want to get some WOW's...you should ask for help, try some new things, take a hard look at your models and others models... Don't rush, you have PLENTY of time to get a WOW out of people. I personaly envy kids like you, who are so innocent and still building with an unfocused eye....enjoying it the way most all of the older guys did as they were kids.....that's what keeps us all going all these years! I am 35.....building since 1978ish.
  3. you paid approx going rate for those kits. build them up, seems like everyone puts them on a shelf to stare lol
  4. Do you know why the condom flew across the room? It was pissed off too! har-har-har! I dunno what happened, but hopefully your pepsi-induction isn't too high....
  5. the roadster and the 5window are killer! you should be proud of those hot rods!
  6. It wouldn't even "look" right if I don't reply to this lol You know I love it and it's been added to my "favorites"!
  7. Jim, I am not sure what the error is or where it's coming from....please try this email it should work for sure since it's through my IP. awbcrazy@tconl.com thank you
  8. Thank you, that's quite a compliment!
  9. Very nice, awesome detail! one of the best I have seen built and one of my favorite show rod kits (that I've never built)
  10. Sorry Tom, but this is not TRaKable. Nice color
  11. Thanks fella's! I have never read so many "memory" replies on a build of mine. (not just here) I am glad to tap into some of your pasts. Lyle, yeah I remember that article and when I saw that I JUST finished building mine originally...I was amazed that someone else's model looked like mine so closely (same colors pretty much) at the same time. Cool article too!
  12. Thank you Robert!
  13. John posted his sweet roadster (on TRaK) with new caps and well....I was thinking about this awhile back, just never got around to it. I really never liked my Bel Air before because of the caca wheels on it. I didn't have anything better at the time believe it or not. I saw this 1:1 and it's almost identical to my model other than some mild kustomizing on the front end and skirts. I used the tires from Revell's Merc and Cadillac caps from Modelhaus. I was going to switch grilles....but this build is old and didn't want to start popping parts off accidentaly. According to fotki..the album was created 1.5 years ago, but I know it was almost 3 years ago and I made a new album later on. I tried to take the steering wheel out through the window....FAIL...so I left it alone. I never posted it before because of the old wheels. Before anyone gets too excited...the only stuff painted is the "white"..the rest is polished plastic. This kit is really a "less than desirable kit"...but was built in 10 hours so what ya expect? hehe
  14. BUMP...ya never know..... there has to be 350,000 kits among members here
  15. that's all? hehe! check back, it's always getting more added.
  16. hmm...that's strange, I don't have a notice or anything telling me I am full? I do have a lot of stuff in my email....but please try again,I think it should come through? If it doesn't please send to awbcrazy@tconl.com and it should work....or send to both? (I rarely check the tconl.com email, but will if I know something is coming) Sounds good thanks!
  17. Don't be sorry, it happens lol That's one reason the site is a help.
  18. Bernard , I hate to sound like a broken record....but I am glad you are finding use on the site! One of the club's main goals other than building and making friends has been the advancement of our hobby....to do more and go further. This is not all about our club, it's just one of the reasons we have so much reference though. There is a BUNCH of stuff that is not even on the site yet, because it all takes time to build up. I have permissions from high end 1:1 sites to copy images for the use of modeling reference.....of course in exchange for "links to their sites"....not a problem! Thanks for the plug! Thank you for being a DPMCC member!
  19. I am glad you get use of the site! The only guidelines for scanning is not making them too small haha! I do most of my scans at 200dpi and some of the more interesting stuff at 400 or higher....especially if I am going to restore a decal sheet. Sometimes It can be done.... Less popular or not....every single plastic kit instruction is welcome! You would be surprised at some of the odd requests I get.
  20. Well, I could scan them but I would guess the cost of shipping is not a good thing on either of our part. I am assuming you don't have a scanner? Looks like your camera takes fairly good photos so here's a solution. If you can take good photos of the instructions so that when viewed, everything is readable and all parts come in clear....that would work too! The picture of your boxes there is good enough for me to crop and use those. If you can take good photos of the instructions and decals, feel free to send email to trakburner@yahoo.com thanks for your efforts!
  21. cool! yes here is the wanted....by the way if you go to www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html scroll down and click on the collage to get here www.thedpmcc.com/wanted.html The wanted page is full of stuff people are still waiting on "help" for.
  22. I bet most of you have seen my site already, but just in case... I own www.thedpmcc.com and the sub-section www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html . About 4 years ago?, I decided to make good use of the amount of space I have on the .com site and the unlimited space we have on our club's fotki. Now we have the largest collection of instructions, box art, decals and built box art models on the internet! This isn't about bragging or who has it all.....This is about having a place to go when you need help! Countless times I saw emails and posts around various sites from people who bought a model from ebay or a yard sale and it had no instructions. These people asked around hoping someone would take pitty and scan the instructions they needed or maybe even mail them to them for a small fee or free! The web site was built onto with this whole idea in mind that "nobody will ever have to spend another dime just to look at instructions, decals, box art or a built model!" This is a HUGE quest and it's been fun and very inspiring the whole way to say the least. I have been the person loading every single reference item to the site, so I have learned a lot along the way and seen some very cool kits! Not to mention the friends I have made along the way and all the dedicated people who are so willing to help build this massive library online! The section is completely FREE to everyone, no matter who it is. Our club doesn't gain a penny from the hosting or anything like that. We are PROUD to be the place offering such a useful site! Here is what I am hoping to find from many of you. If you would like to help the site grow and be added to our "Contributors" page and feel good because you are making a difference in this hobby..... * www.thedpmcc.com/contributors.html * I am always taking scans of box art, instructions, decal scans and photos of build models that look exactly like or as close to the box art. If you don't have a scanner , but would still like to help.....I have received many donations from modelers who sent the stuff to me to scan.....I don't mind scanning! When the instructions are scanned, they can be mailed back to you.....or can be stuck into a box and auctioned off to help raise some money for the web site fees. (no profit is made, strictly to support the site) I just looked on the "display case" and saw a thread for Chevelles.....there was a couple box art models in there for example that I would be more than happy to add to the site! Questions? Just fire away! trakburner@yahoo.com is the place to send scans if you want....or photos of your built models that represent the box art or as close as possible. Here is a link to show a complete set.....this is how we hope to have every set of instructions look when a person needs to see them. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...957-ford-fairl/ and another.... http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...967-ford-fairl/

  24. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GET SOME PLASTIC!
  25. I had that happen to me before many times. I usually find what I lose, but it's months later. I learned my lesson to check myself over before leaving the room when I realized I had the part inside my shoe for the rest of the day. Another time I couldn't find what I lost because it was glued to the back of my forearm.
