  1. To go off what Gregg said about modelers who play music... Steve Boutte is in a band and plays well, you can find some video on youtube and I am not sure but think they have a CD. Tom Cowles came over a couple times and played around on mine and his guitars. Chuck Hand came down from South Dakota and played on my daughter's junior. (she builds models) He has several guitars at his house. Our friend Lennis does not build models, but he comes over once in awhile and he can play really well. I have put him on youtube. I really shouldn't be surprised about how many modelers play an instrument and at the least a guitar. Playing is good for the soul and is good therapy for your hands too! Here is my tube channel, you can watch Tom Cowles and Lennis play. I will get some of my own up eventually. By the way, there are several guitar players on my forum too. http://www.youtube.com/user/awbcrazy#play/uploads
  2. If it is the hot rods you are looking for , here are some more. Mark, thanks for sharing the site! I am glad people use it. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...ram-the-little/ http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...ram-29-ford-ro/ (instructions are here , just have not scanned yet) (would like to get instructions from this one) There are others that came in that type of box, but I don't have images.
  3. Billy, I hope to make it again.....but the way things are looking financially I might not make it either.
  4. I hear about them being torn or shredded up.....but mine always come nice and clean just like bought off the shelf! I wonder if it has anything to do with the machines at your PO's?
  5. Bernard, thanks for posting the link to fotki. The main link is easier to find stuff from www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html Here are some other wild and mild kits. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...971-vega-mild-/ http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...971-dodge-chal/
  6. Now Harry can start griping... Haven't read it yet, but it looks great!
  7. That's a lot of scratchbuilding, very nice work Mj!
  8. absolutely beautiful!
  9. As far as the worn and rusty metal , it looks really good in your photos! In my opinion, this is really looking a lot like a modern day hot rod that someone put together fast-like to drive. Maybe the owner has plans to resepctively paint it and do some clean work on it. I don't want to offend you, but it doesn't say "rat rod" to me, unless you mean the kind that were around back in the 40's and 50's? If that is what you meant, I think you have it about dead on, but I don't know if they had skull shifters back then.....I wasn't there. Just keep having fun with it, looks great with that weathering job you did.
  10. hey thanks Harold and Tom! I just checked under glass and didn't imagine this would be up again. I am going to do MANY more "where has it been" builds in the near future
  11. My searches brought up stuff back to 2008 or so. The only thing was, I am not sure it brought all results up. I searched my user name and only got 3 pages and I know I have made more than 30 or so posts lol Still nice feature though, I think it will come in handy.
  12. The search feature is nice and works great! I can search by user name or words and I get good results!
  13. Well in that case, I would guess just from the internet there are about 30-40 thousand? There are always more people that build out there, but we don't see or hear of them so it's probably much higher than that. Don't forget we have people that are afraid to say they build models....it's too bad they don't know WE are out there and that it's not wierd for an adult to build lol
  14. impressive as most all your work! the paint jobs really "do it" for me, very nice work Gary!
  15. If you must stick to the description, I would guess maybe 1,000 or less. I don't know anyone that came go two years straight and not skip a week or even a month of modeling. I consider myself to be pretty consecutive, but I miss a week or two a few times a year.
  16. Chuck Norris won't die, even death knows better.
  17. HAVE A GREAT DAY MY FRIEND!
  18. Nice rods! I voted.
  19. yeah pretty shocking news! thank you Harry!
  20. they probably are the same, i checked my woody wagon and it has same fronts too.
  21. yep and this was one of the boxes also showing it labeled a '50. The new release says '49 and I saw one at NNL North.
