Maybe paint in a walk-in beer cooler?
Seriously, I get my best rattle can paint jobs when it's 55-60 degrees outside, the paint is warm and the model surface is warm.

Mark,
I believe the real reason NASCAR - be it trucks or cars - uses decals instead of operating lights is that the real lights would not conform to the body contours of the race vehicles. They only resemble the street versions at 150 MPH-plus.

Try Model Masters Black Chrome in bottles or Tamiya's got a satin black in their spray lacquers (well worth the extra $) Don't spray lacquer over enamel.
Try applying and burnishing down the BMF. Use an extra wide piece. Before cutting off the extra polish the BMF with a metal polish such as Semichrome, Wenol or even Tamiya blue cap using Q-Tips and cotton balls. Keep the polish from getting on the paint.
Simón, were you in Phoenix recently? Last GSL as well? If so, then we spoke briefly.
Yes, David is a great painter. I'd bet that even on the car he stripped and repainted 22 times that his first coat was better than my best coat.
You've posted two seperate topics on the same subject. Both have pictures of the real car. Neither have any pictures of your WIP. How about some pictures of your model on the work bench?
David, your painting results are beyond words.
I understand your explanations so far but you must be holding something back. How do you keep trash from settling into the paint? Paint naked in the shower with the water on? Have a clean room?
