  1. your dedication to perfection shows in each one of your builds karsten. personally, i will always enjoy marveling at your work.
  2. obviously, you have something to say because............you did. i'm pretty sure copyright law does govern EVERYTHING you asked about. pictures , drawings, whatever. some one as intelligent as yourself surely knows that or you wouldn't have made the comment. personally, i find when people speak in generalties and metaphors, they're trolling for something or stirring the pot. please, feel free to tell me i'm incorrect.
  3. karsten,............. dude,.......... another build that makes my head spin!!!!! incredible workmanship!!!!!!!
  4. is it an issue that you, yourself are in question of? or is this something someone else did and you're once again beating around the bush instead of being a big boy and saying what's on your mind? makes sense to me, that you should just say what's on your mind rather than this hypothetical bull.
  5. great to see your almost completely recovered joe! love your new project. should be an awesome ride when your done. let's not put any overhead cams on that sonny's hemi. o.k.? hehe.
  6. stellar work there dave! i'm especially fond of the injected y-block. very cool.
  7. Ross Gibson BOSS 429 sold as a Ford Pro Stocker. Can't run OHC motors in NHRA P/S. When will they grow up? This is going in a Super Street '64 Fairlane. Dale dale, i had know idea the boss 429 was an overhead cam motor. learn something new everyday..................
  8. aaron, i calls as i sees 'em. the barrel valve just "caught me eye". it looks really good so, i had to ask. one of my pet peaves with the model companies and this has NOTHING to do with any modelers, is, i wish they would produce a believable bug, bird, or buzzard catcher style injector hat for you guys. what they're giving you to work with is just soooo lame. again not anything you guys as modelers did wrong. it's just what the model companies give you to work with.
  9. gotta agree with chris. killer job. did the barrel valve come with kit or did you fab it yourself? it's really nice!
  10. george53, the motor in the juke box ford is NOT the correct motor. the motor in the juke box IS based on the boss 429 motor. if you look at the spark plug spacing you will see that the heads are completely different. again the pro stock motor scale dale is trying to replicate is TOTALLY different than a boss 429. they share no family resemblance to a 385 series ford motor. also the juke box ford is a pro mod not a pro stock. i hope this helps.
  11. and there you go. thanks chris. the rge 603 looks to be the most correct but, it does look like the deck height of the motor is pretty high. the intake runners are pretty long. it is definately something you can start with.
  12. doesn't ross gibson sell the mopar pro stock hemi? like i said earlier, the heads are just about identical. compare your ford head pics to this pic.
  13. if you are going to scratch a motor for your model some of the specs for the block are available by googling ford pro stock block and going to the website that sells the block. things like bore spacing, cam to crank centerline deck height etc. are available. there are also some nice 3-d images availble on the web by searching. the block and both the hemi head and the symetrical port heads can be found, althought the hemi head seems to be the preferred head of choice.
  14. i don't want to rain on your parade but, the ford pro stock hemi is not based on the 429 "shotgun" at all. it is a specific, special purpose built engine. you will note the similarity in head design to the mopar pro stock hemi. possibly the only thing it shares in common with the "shotgun" is the 4.900" bore space. then again, ALL nhra pro stock motors whether ford, gm or mopar all now have 4.900" bore spacing. there are a couple of good articles out there. i quickly found this: http://www.dragzine.com/news/ford-returns-to-pro-stock-the-cunningham-story/
  15. the rear tires actually are the same dimensional size as goodyear largest land speed tire. 28x10.00x15. since no land speed tires exist in 1/8 scale. i may try to crown the tread area a little bit but, that's about all i'm going to do. spending $50.00 for the rubber and 8 hrs. grinding neoprene to make spot on tires, isn't in the cards for this build. as far as the fronts go, there are quite a few salt flat cars running dragster front tires on them.
  16. are you serious? the people who mounted them didn't offer to clean them up? are you ever going back? sorry, that's just sloppy workmanship.
  17. the wife and i may show up for saturday qualifying. really will depend on the heat factor. there's no place to hide from it at e-town.
  18. here's some shots i took at some different races. and a pic from rbs superchargers hope this helps. ask, if you have more questions.
  19. are you building the fuel pump as well? i can probably come up with some relative pics if you can tell me if the pump will have one pressure / feed line to the barrel valve or two.
  20. it would be an immense help if you were to identify the era of the topfuel car you are building. that being said, if you are not using a "k" style, i'll assume you are building something relatively newer with a billet barrel valve although there are many variations available. pressure lines from the pump(s) can be either-12, -10 or -8. return lines from the barrel valve will be -6 or -8. lines from the barrel valve to the distribution block(s) will be -12, -8 or -10. if you are using hard line from the blocks to the injectors, they are 3/16" o.d. if you are using a flex line it would be a -3. the illustration above is a good reference for earlier fuel motors. some of todays fuel motors use 2 injectors in each manifold runner and they have lines feeding the back of the heads for the nozzles that are directly over the intake valve. hope this helps. edit: another awesome site to check out is http://www.rbssuperchargers.com/ lots of good info to be had, if you look closely.
  21. i can't wait to see this one unfold tyrone. your work is simply amazing.
  22. ray, i know of at 2 aluminum '41 willys coupes that were hand formed. one in europe and one here in the u.s.. i'd bet a quick search would yeild some more aluminum forming articles.
  23. thank you very much, fellas! ray, yes, i use sharpies as a tint to produce an anodized like finish. i also use some paint i found at pep boys. duplicolor metalcast is the paint. on the mags and fuel filter is used paint this time. be aware if you use a sharpie, i haven't found a clear coat that doesn't attack it. spent some time tonight wiring the plug wires.
  24. fabbed up a barrel valve out of styrene tube. added bolt detail to the blower and pulleys. it's finally starting to look like something.
  25. thank you guys!! well, i'm still working on the engine. getting all of the little details done is very time consuming. especially when there are no real examples to follow. made the idler pulley for the blower. put some lightening holes in it. tensioner pulley adjusting mount. got the mags, fuel pump, fuel filter completed and painted. plumbed the down nozzles in the manifold. also made an injector hat spacer. it will put the hat way up into the clean air,
