  1. no problem brett. glad to help.
  2. if you are referring to the brackets on top of the steering input. they are for the race pak dash. if you mean the ones on the side of the steering box . they mount to a bolt in cross tube on the chassis. edit. my apologies. the cross tube is not a bolt in. it is welded to the upper rails.
  3. looks like you are off to another killer build, ken!
  4. sweet stuff. how about some more pics?
  5. very nice detailing. can't wait to see the rest.
  6. well, rommel's application is a pro mod. here's a pretty blue one............on a nitro funny car.
  7. ".not as pretty as the one posted, but it's what the "big boys" use" i give up.......really?
  8. i believe the object of putting the turbos in the trunk was weight. the turbos in the nose were making it difficult ro get the cars to hook. since they already have an abundance of unusable power. the experiment was to put the weight, of the twin turbos, in the back of the car.
  9. only if TDR wants to make carbs like this. i'm working on doing the 2-d drawings. it's whether they decide to do them or not.
  10. great work robert! love the concept of the turbos in the trunk. pretty cool!
  11. the dominator BOLT pattern is 5.38" x 5.38". the outside of the dominator gasket is 6.25" x 6.25" but, the dimensions on the shear plates on some of my manifolds are 7" x 7". hope that helps.
  12. rom, what they are talking about is a different process than what i went through. they can literally scan a body into the computer and then manipulate that image. i went through the process of having it drawn up in 3-d from measurements. which means the camaro is a fresh entity. it is not a direct copy of anyones pro mod camaro. scanning is truly duplicating the piece you are scanning. i don't know what laws can come into effect here but, my thoughts would be that you are treading on thin ice as far as copyright laws are concearned. i also have no idea as to the cost of having something scanned.
  13. thanks for the straight forward replies. it would be silly to go forward and try another one in the future if the general concensus is, they weren't worth it.
  14. thanks chris. how everyone replies will make a difference.
  15. chuck, thank you for the reply. i appreciate you understanding of the process and that helps tremendously. the fact that you are as pleased as you are really helps. again, thank you. the duster project sounds incredibly cool. i wish you nothing but good luck with it. hmmm. maybe a 1/8 nostalgia pro stock...............?
  16. rom, here's what i came up with. all of the blown cars i have seen either have the bottles in the pass. area or the trunk. it seems only the nitrous cars are running them up front. now that's not to say someone, somewhere doesn't. just in my selection of photos it seems to be the trend. that being said here are a few shots that may heip. the fire bottles in this car are in the pass. area, note the 2 blue discharge nozzles in front of the fuel cell. here you can see the discharge nozzle aimed at the driver. it is above/ behind the brake pedal. hopefully chris will have some more for you to choose from.
  17. i haven't gotten a reply on the other post. so, i'll ask the question differently here. do you guys feel the body from TDR was a worth while investment. the answers i get will help determine if i ever do this again.
  18. double d, it is an unfortunate side effect of printing with that material. it is the least expensive material and i believe the most robust material. you could get it printed with a more expensive material and all but eliminate the problem but a much higher price and it's also a little more fragile. a couple of sandings and coats of high build filler primer will take care of the graining.
  19. chuck, is the TDR body what you hoped it would be? was it worth the cost? be truthful.......i would like an honest reply so, i know, as to whether this venture will ever happen again.
  20. where were you putting the fire bottles?
  21. i love the rear quarter shot!
  22. i research as much as possible on the internet. i use as many publications as i can possibly find. i also seek out as much as i can on the real thing. i document the heck out of everything i can. i have to agree with the research is at least half the fun on my builds.
  23. thanks guys! joe, the boosters are styrene, painted aluminum color. originally all boosters were cast. you can buy billet ones today. 1:1 of course. hehe.
