  1. killer stuff, john! i love watching your builds come to life.
  2. looks great, al!!!!! those hub caps top it off just right! hehe.
  3. joe, sorry i didn't know they stopped at 3/16. i think a 3" primary would look totally out of place. if you want to do 5/32 bends contact me. i have an idea if you want to try it.
  4. when you go to the plastruct site look for tapered reducers and offset tapered reducers. they'll help you go from a smaller tube to a larger tube on the turbo. while it won't fix the turbo size. it may get your tubing sizes to a more common diameter. besides if you burry the turbo down under the headers like that camaro i sent you. you won't even notice the difference.
  5. drew up some plans for my bellhousing over the weekend. i finally got the chance today to machine it.
  6. at 1/16 you should be using a 5/32" diameter header tube (2 2/12" primary) i would think 1/8" (2" inch) would be a little small. depending on the turbos you bought. tubing any where from 1/4" (4") to 5/16" (5"). numbers in ( ) are 1:1 sizes.
  7. tyrone, this is just super!!!!!! narrowest i've seen a pro mod four link is on 16" centers. hope this helps.
  8. i hope you reconsider the blower deal, joe. i think the turbos were lookin pretty good on there. if you're having a hard time with the tubing and headers have you tried plastruct? they have pre-made tight radius tubing bends. maybe just the ticket to get the "pipes" right.
  9. i have seen pics of the real one.......i like yours much better. very cool!
  10. i thought you were building a 10.5 car?
  11. i don't get to handle photo etch to much since no one really makes anything for drag cars in 1:8 scale. but,... here's a thought (and maybe you guys already do this) before you remove the photo etch can you / do you?? "grain" the finish with some really fine scotchbrite?
  12. i wouldn't say you way over estimated them, scott. hehe. very possible on the 6061-t6.
  13. scott, the brake handle would be 1/4" thick. the fuel shutoff, chute levers, and the butterfly steering wheel are 1/8" thickness.
  14. looks great greg! all of those parts look like they came out really clean in 1/16. i'm impressed. the body, i see, is printed in w,s,f great choice. it will take a little sanding and some primer filler to get it smooth but, i think the time to do that will more than compensate for the lost time of reworking and cutting and thinning resin. i hope you're not gonna put a blanket on that trans or blower! they're like little works of automotive art.
  15. looks pretty cool to me, chuck. i think the dyno don decals came out excellent also. do you do custom (one off) decal work too, chuck?
  16. great looking build, al. suspension is looking sweet. nice idea with the cotter pins for rod ends.
  17. just wanted to let you know there was a problem. they have corrected it, so i am told. TDR gets premium prices for premium parts. if you have a problem with anything in the future, call before you use the part. there is no need to accept so-so or flawed parts.
  18. tyrone, any time i can lend a hand, just yell. i have a few shots (off the internet) of this car in the pits with the front end off. i don't know, if you know, how close you got this but,..........WOW dude. just an awesome effort on your part!
  19. jack, i believe i read earlier in your post that you had issues with the TDR tubs. did you ever contact tim at TDR? appearently shapeways is having a problem with curing there materials and sent out some inferior products. i suggest that if you haven't contacted TDR. that you do so.
  20. seems if you don't belong, you can't login.
