  1. nice looking build skip.
  2. looks like the start to another incredibly awesome build, ken!!!!
  3. if i do this. i will place it there. thanks for the advanced notice.
  4. let me ask you guys a question. would you like a tutorial with pictures on typical 4 and 5 stage v-8 dry sump systems? i could also do a typical fuel system for dual 4 bbl, and 4-2 bbl. carb. systems. let me know. Dave, if you decide to do this, and I think it would be very helpful, please post it in the "Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials" section. That way we won't have to move it for you! Thanks. -- MODERATOR
  5. incredible work, clay. hard to tell it from a real one.
  6. comin' to ya leonard.
  7. william, not sure where you got the 110" minimum but, the NHRA Pro Modified minimum is 100"/ maximum 115". hope this helps. even still it would be legal as a Top Sportsman car. in competition eliminator it could run as any one a multitude of combos in the Altered class. naturally aspirated - A/A, B/A, etc. also A/PM super charged on gas - AA/A, BB/A supercharged on methanol - AA/AM, AA/PM centrifugal super charged - CC/A turbo'd - AA/AT, BB/AT there are some i missed. any of the index based Super classes hope this clears it up a little.
  8. there is no "one" place for it to go henry. it depends on who builds the car and his preference.
  9. i might be able to help a little here. i am assuming your pro sportsman model's engine is a carbureted big block with a dry sump. the fuel system would typically be plumbed like this: 1) from tank to pump -12 or -10 2) from pump to regulator -10 3) from regulator to carbs -8 or -6 (most are -6) the dry sump oil system would be typically plumbed like this: 1) scavenge lines from pan to pump -10 or -12 2) pressure lines from pump to tank (if individual) -10 or pressure line from pump to tank (if manifolded) -16 3) scavenge line from tank (at bottom of tank) to pump -10 or -12 4) pressure line from pump to oil filter -10 5) pressure line from oil filter to block -10 if you have any questions, just ask. hope this helps.
  10. very nice job on the coils dave. can't wait to see the arm when it's done. i remember the picture on the cover, of one of the magazines, with the charger and the fake arm on it. totally cool!
  11. once again, you've nailed it tyrone. it seems you've dotted every "i" and crossed every "t". excellent work!!!!!!!
  12. joe, the tubs are turning out excellent. well done!
  13. got to work on the caliper assemblies. these are single piston floating calipers. here they are test fitted on the struts.
  14. great looking scoop, leonard!!!!! i can't wait to see the progress on this build. if you need some reference shots some fuel injection. i have some pics of a musi 903 cube motor with fuel injection. keep up the killer work, my friend!
  15. looks like you're off to a great start to a cool project. can't wait to see this one come to life rom!
  16. thanks for the support guys! these projects are very long and drawn out. it helps when others enjoy the stuff i make. o.k., so,.....i needed a carbon front rotor and a hub before i make the calipers and caliper mounts. i made the rotors from a composite modeling foam like renshape but it's not renshape. it was given to me awhile ago and i can't remember what it is. the front hubs where machined from aluminum. test fitted the hub and rotor on the strut. it will need a a spacer to hold the correct geometry. next i test fitted a wheel i made from a previously unfinished project.
  17. well, i got back from vacation and started back on the front struts. made a a set of caliper mounts and machined the strut to accept them. next are the rotors and hubs.
  18. ken, these sprint car builds are just outstanding!!! the craftsmanship, the detail....all...... just outstanding!!!!!
  19. dave, sorry i'm a little late. hopefully not too late. here's a shot of the latching system on an alcohol funny car. maybe it will be useful to you. here is the front frame to that car.
  20. i don't believe it gets any better than this, clay. i look at your builds and just stare in awe!!!!!!!!!!!! just phenomenal craftsmanship!!!
  21. my deepest sympathy, scott. i know how hard it is. my wife and i just lost one of our furry children, freddy. he was 16. RIP Izzy.
  22. looks like an incredible start, leonard! if this turns out anything like the '57, we're in for a real treat!!!!!
