  1. congrats on the paint milestone, chris. i admire your "fix it now" attitude. i know i stray from it at times but, you seem to be able to hold the line continually. takes a great amount of discipline to do that. great job!!!!
  2. hey dave, i had an opportunity to measure an enderle "k" style barrel valve over the weekend. would you like the pics? My eyes will hopefully survive it. hehe. i know that tune!
  3. for you guys that do your own chassis work if you go to chris alston's chassis works you can get drawings of quite a few different chassis'. they are not dimensioned but, most of you don't work that way anyway. click on the drawing you like go to the image tab and then click on the larger view. it will give you a window you can copy and print. you will have to adjust the size to fit your scale. it may not be perfect but, it's better than nothing. http://www.cachassisworks.com/c-236-chassis-kits-drag-race.aspx
  4. joe, if you are interested i did a tutorial on SMC on how to machine these very wheels and the tires. also rear floater hubs and rotors to fit the wheels. they aren't to difficult but, they do require alot of concentration and some time. best of all once you know how to do it,......you'll know forever.
  5. scott, i can't believe you are working in 1:25 scale (or 1:24 i'm not really sure. it's so tiny.) the control arm is smokin' hot. as are the little tiny brackets that you're using!!!!! keep up the unbelievable craftsmanship!!!!!!!
  6. thanks wayne. yes, mike is aware of the build. he may not know about this particular website but, he is aware that the build is going on. thanks for asking. i understand the car is for sale, if you or any one else is interested. i believe they want to build something else. i think i'll have to tell them to slow down.......i can't build the model as fast as they build the real car!!!!!! hehe. i got a little more done before it's time to go to bed. i got the rest of the arms on the shafts and made the links to them. slowly but surely i'm getting there............and stop calling me surely! hehe.
  7. then i made the decals for the nitrous solenoids. there are 16 of them in all. also, i drilled two .015" holes in each solenoid for the wires. with all the prep work done i started on the carb linkage for the (4) 2 barrel carbs.
  8. o.k. so it's been a while but, i haven't idle doing nothing. this is one of those times that some of you can appreciate. i've been doing all the little stuff for the carbs. you younger guys should take advantage of your eyesight while it's still really good. at 53 this stuff is one enormous pain in the butt!!!! i started with the carbs. i put the throttle shafts in and the bowl vents. still working on the accelerator pump nozzle. i may also do the accelerator pumps and lever. time will tell. later on i made the carb linkage arms out of aluminum and painted them semi gloss black. after that, onto the carb shear plates. then after that i made the linkage arms. the rod ends (and almost all of my hardware) are R.B.motion, of course.
  9. Do the lines converge at a T and then one line goes into the frame rail and back to the master cylinder? yup. no problem.
  10. i really have to agree with everyone else. just outstanding tyrone.
  11. really looks like you're having a good time with it, romell. that is THE most important part. keep up the killer work!
  12. hey dave, sorry for not seeing your question earlier (again). the brake lines run inside the tube of the lower frame rail.
  13. wow!!! that is extremely nice joe! the carbon decals really make a difference. great job!!!!!!!
  14. thanks a bunch guys!!! your responses / questions are always welcome. joe, yup. i turned round stock down on a taper and added flats. ken, this will be a Gene Fulton 4 stage system. there are 2 more systems that need to be installed in the plenum ends. they are called "viper" systems. the nozzle that stick into the runners inside look like fangs. if this were a speed tech 5 stage system there would be another set of nozzles outside on the under side of each intake runner. it is a plumbing night mare!!!!!!!!! hehe. i hope i don't screw it up.
  15. scott, i am amazed at the amount of dedication you have to "doing things right". rushing and hurrying will only lead to doing it over. great workmanship too!!!!!
  16. chris, i think sometimes my stuff gets tiny........holy cow dude! looks fantastic.
  17. while this is the WRONG plenum for this manifold i put it on just eyeball the carb situation. i will be making the correct plenum soon.
  18. i got some time to work on the car again so,....... i carved up some intake runners, intake plates, separate valley cover, and a low profile dist. glued the runners to the plate. when they dried i drilled some holes for the port nitrous nozzles. these are 2 of the 4 stages of nitrous on this engine.
  19. sweet! i'll leave the high pressure decision making up to you. this thing really does look sweet!
  20. scott, no matter how you build it, make sure you have fun doing it! can't wait to see what it evolves into.
  21. you should be really proud of that one, joe! it turned out quite excellent!!!!!
