  1. i got a couple of things going on that you may like chris,.......at least i hope. right now, takin a break and goin' on vaca.
  2. i have a question chris. please don't think i'm being rude but, why didn't you make them out of aluminum? that's what the real ones would have been. you may have already answered this earlier and i missed it. i don't know.
  3. looking VERY good, dave!! even though it is a fictitious build. i like your attention to factual detail.
  4. so i had some time this week end to finish the penske shocks. started to assemble the rear. did some detailing to the calipers. spent sunday machining the front struts.
  5. leonard, i LOVE this car!!! just a flat out awesome build!!!!!!!!!
  6. i'm not positive but,.....i think that has to be one of the shiny-est paint jobs you've done, al. well done!!!!
  7. i use actual timing belts from a company called "stock drive products".
  8. most of the nitrous pro mods you see are running are using 5 inch collectors. i'm not sure how many of you are actually building to that number(it would equal a 5/16" collector in scale) that's why scott is asking you guys for the number. header design, primary tube dia. and collectors between pro stock and pro mod are enormously different.
  9. thanks guys! scott it's just some aluminum rod i have stuffed in there so i could put some color on the shocks.
  10. thanks guys. i got to spend a little time in the shop so i made up a set of aluminum caliper mounts for the rear. chris, the calipers are TDR pieces. i also started on the penske rear shocks. i threw some color on them to see how they looked. i'll be dipping these in lacquer thinner and doing them over more appropriately later on. still need to make the actual piston rods from stainless and the shock tops.
  11. that's some pretty cool stuff ya got goin' there!
  12. chris, this is really setting the bar way up there for 1/16 scale funny cars. it's all looking very authentic and correct. keep up the fantastic work!
  13. thanks, don. as can be seen, even smaller c.n.c. equipment is not cheap. i can't even afford the smallest one there! hehe.
  14. thanks a ton guys!!! glad you like the brakes. scott, the rotors are made of a composite modeling foam, sorta like renshape but, it's not renshape. it was given to me years ago. i don't know who the manufacturer is. you are not wrong. the Lamb logo's are decals. to actually machine them in, i'd need a cnc mill. unfortunately my stuff is all hand screws.
  15. just a super, super job davey!!!!! your machining is stepping up for sure. also, i noticed that c/f hat on top of that blower.........sweeeeeet!
  16. sooooo,.......i got around to making the rear brakes for the camaro. i tried to copy the lamb brakes that are on the car as best as i could. the floater hub and drive plates are one piece. i was going to make the hubs separate and actually roll but, i thought that might be going too far. i would want the car to roll off of a table some where. here are the brakes. since most of you don't machine. i won't include any of the machining strategies here. if you are interested, just ask.
  17. does this work for ya?
  18. i'm pretty sure that would qualify as one of the "O-riginal" outlaw cars. hehe.
  19. not sure of your definition of outlaw cars but here are some i like. some more. hope this gets you started.
  20. the color you picked for this one is spot on. love it!!!!
  21. this is just incredible craftsmanship and a fanatical eye for detail. this will be setting new standards in model building for sure!!!!!!
  22. looks excellent dom. you're doing some serious work on this. love the manifold and the turbos.
  23. don, i love the idea of a roots style blower on the ferrari motor. that will have a few ferrari purist's biting their lip!! way cool.
