  1. that's an extremely tough request. why so? first you need to decide if you're requesting a blown (roots or screw), nitrous assisted or turbo (single or twin) car. and even then, there are almost no 2 cars that are wired / or plumbed the same. different data systems, how many parameters you want to monitor? different nitrous systems and number of nitrous controller systems, different number of nitrous stages. different ignitions companies and different systems within each company. (std. breaker point point, electronic, electronic distributor-less, magneto, dual magneto). is the fuel system mechanically or electronically controlled? this is only the tip of the iceberg. your request might be a little easier if you narrow the parameters of your request.
  2. john, your abilities have always amazed me. no exception here. i'd like to thank your mom for picking up this car, too.
  3. semijoe said "is this a model site or how to build a real race car." is there a difference? hehe.
  4. for "not" being a full blown super detail job. it certainly looks pretty spectacular to me!
  5. another one that's gorgeous!
  6. beautiful job! very impressive.
  7. i happen to agree......outstanding job mal.
  8. those bottles in the picture would be fire bottles. the adrl rules are really pretty wide open compared to...well...anything. you have no minimum weight, no max. cubes. use gas , methanol, nitro and even add nitrous. i believe one of the few restrictions is no nitro if you run a screw blower
  9. derrick, the picture you're showing is a display chassis. while the engine is a blower motor. it also has two green speed tech nitrous bottles on board. the display shows a multitude of options to the potential buyer.
  10. you're making excellent progress on this, greg. body is looking awesome! this is a HUGE undertaking and you're pulling it off with alot of finesse. the blower remake is looking spot on. keep up the hard work.
  11. i can only tell you what i know. if some one out there has an uncle bob and he owns something different, great. the blown pro mods that I AM aware of, do not self start. the rules don't require it and it's a ton of weight to penalize yourself with. they still carry a battery (although not a physically large one) to power all of the electronic gizmos and doo-flickers. i was taught a pic is worth a thousand words. here's my thousand words. will that help? EDIT: the car pictured is a ADRL PX car. i did some quick research and NHRA pro mods are required to be self starting. although they allow the use of remote battery packs for starting only.
  12. looks great! very nice job.
  13. this is really looking good derrick. the chassis has turned out sweet.
  14. i like the idea of this in the woody, rick. very cool!
  15. i hope no one minds if i jump in here. i have received one of the fiberglass anglia bodies from the madd fabricator and it is second to none. the finish is fantastic and the detail is awesome. the fiberglass work is top shelf. it is a consistent thickness throughout. mine is still in the early stages of figuring out how i want to build it. i just figured i'd let you know they are incredibly nice and they're available.
  16. looks great so far! i love the chassis jig. great idea!!!!!
  17. it's great having someone on the board who actually worked at lenco. how cool is that! after a recent bout of bashing i took on another site over me calling my 1/8 camaro an outlaw 10.5 car while it is an extreme 10.5 car. i will try to be careful with how i word things. recent rule changes in the NHRA rule book allow a maximum of 3 forward speeds and reverse for supercharged entries and a maximum of 5 forward speeds and reverse for all others. from the NHRA rule book: TRANSMISSION, Manual Aftermarket planetary or clutchless transmission permitted. All transmissions must be equipped with an SFI Spec 4.1 transmission shield. Supercharged entries limited to maximum of three forward speeds and reverse; all other entries limited to maximum of five forward speeds and reverse. Aftermarket converter drive units permitted. When an aftermarket converter drive is utilized, an SFI Spec 6.1 or 6.3 flywheel shield and an SFI Spec 29.1 flexplate are mandatory. Lockup converters and overdrive units are prohibited. A 1-to-1 relationship is mandatory in high gear for all transmission types. Automated shifters and/or timer/rpm-type shifting devices prohibited; each individual shift must be a function of the driver. Shifting must be controlled by manual or pneumatic means only (driver pulls the lever or pushes the button); electric or electronics may in no way affect the shifting mechanism. while the ADRL and other OUTLAW pro mod sanctioning bodies have no restrictions at all on the number of forward gears. please don't take this as nitpicking you mr68gts but, after the incident on SA i just wish to be accurate. you know more about lenco's than i will ever know. as a matter of fact, i'm considering putting one in an upcoming 1:1 project i'm doing and wonder if i can pick your brain on the matter?
  18. it's great this pro mod stuff exists in the larger 1/16 scale. even if it has some short comings, it still available. in 1/8 scale, i got nothing available pro mod body wise and that my friend.......sucks.
  19. it's all good jason. i have memory issues myself somtimes! LOL! it's all good jason. i have memory issues myself somtimes! LOL!
  20. greg you're off to a fine start! this is going to look great when you're done. not to mention it'll be a one off.
  21. while you are sort of correct about the lenco you're not totally. the lenco in the package is a 4 speed. each section is a percentage of reduction plus 1:1. so each case adds a shift. two cases....two shifts. 1-2 and 2-3. 3 cases, 3 shifts. 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4. there are also 3 different flavors according to h.p. CS1, CS2 and CS3. there is also a street version ST1200. this is an air shifted lenco 3 speed with a reverser. this is a manually shifted 4 speed. i hope this helps.
  22. looks cooool!!!! and is that 2 engines in the back?
  23. awesome job.
  24. looks great mike. what parts are actually scratch built?
