  1. joe, dave hance's car is just the ticket for you to reference. you'll see the windshield in it, is like your body. flatter and not a wrap-around. the body on andy macoy's car has a more stock like wrap around windshield. couple of really insightful shots on the extreme race cars site. oh, i wanted to ask you, are you doing a twin turbo'd B.A.E. hemi or something else? and what for trans? keep up the great work.
  2. i'd like to offer a piece of advice, if i may. all of these killer builds that are going on here, require so much effort and scratch building ability. if there is a problem. you should correct it. you will only pay the price later with an ill fitting"something or other " and you'll kick yourself in the butt for not taking care of it now. joe, i am not saying that there is something wrong with your chassis. as a matter of fact it looks great! this is just a piece of advice for everyone that starts a high intensity build like this. measure twice and cut once. check and double and triple check your references. otherwise your labor intensive build will not represent the skill and labor you've invested. the talent i see here is amazing!!!!! don't let the "hurry and get it done" frame of mind push your build down the wrong path. keep up the awesome work. i love seeing drag cars,.....especially pro mods.
  3. incredible work bill!!!! all the effort is really paying off for you. looks fantastic!!!!!!!!
  4. TDR does not actually do the printing process of their 3-d models. shapeways does. that way the part comes directly to you from the printer.
  5. nice looking start. there are some awesome pro mod builds going on right now. you are in good company.
  6. this has definitely turned out to my favorite build, tyrone. i love this thing!!!! the subject, the details, the paint........everything just cooks!!!!!
  7. keith, i have to agree 110%. the show was great, the people were awesome, just a wonderful place to be. kudos to CPMCC for an excellent show.
  8. hey ken, since there are 2 dave's replying. which of us did you mean? LOL!
  9. how big is big bore? i'm no vw expert but, i think i have some 88 mm barrels and slugs floating around. will that help?
  10. this has to be my favorite that you've done tyrone. they're all fantastic but, this one really speaks to me. actually, more like kicks me in the ankles.LOL! great job!
  11. ken, it's lookin' great! excellent effort and craftsmanship! i have a question for you. what material are your tires made from?
  12. hi joel. i'll be looking forward to seeing some of your modelling.
  13. ken, i don't want to have to tell you this but, .......your motor fell over........LOL! gotta agree with the madd man, looking good!
  14. terrific workmanship tyrone!
  15. that's just insane! going a 160 mph..........and then turn left! awesome stuff!
  16. that is looking great, ken! this is an awesome looking car. i love the colors and the gold leaf number. the injected small block is right at home there. i have a question or two about these kinds of cars. i realize that track has a lot to do with it but, how fast is the type of car you are building? what is the type of car that has the big block mounted offset and twisted like that?
  17. congrats!!!!! it will be something you NEVER forget......guaranteed!!! if you can, take a digital camera with ALOT of memory and a pair of earplugs.
  18. FYI guys. the 426 chrysler hemi and the 417 donovan are totally different engines. the donovan is modeled after the 392. as far as i know ,in 1:1 nothing in these motors is interchangeable. most notable exterior changes are: the donovan has a rear cam driven dist. location. the 426 has a front driven. the donovan has the oil pump in the pan at the rear of the motor and the oil lines exit the right rear side of the block. the 426 has an external oil pump mounted on the left front of the block. the donovan heads have 6 valve cover bolts while the 426 has 10. the spark plug location on the right side of the cyl. center line on the donovan, while it is on the left side of center with the 426. everything else is different too but, i think these are some of the most noticeable differences.
  19. building what we love is what it's all about. the love you have for sprint cars certainly shows in your work!
  20. ken, i'm not up on sprint and midget history / technology but, i have to tell you this is an incredible build. beautiful job! i can't wait to see what you build next.
  21. i believe this going to be my favorite of your builds, tyrone. fantastic details!
  22. jeff, your work on this has created a body that, at least in my opinion, has tremendous "presence". the front shot, front quarter shot, and side shot are extraordinary. again, just my opinion. hope you continue down the same path to the finish. ok. while i wrote this you posted some new stuff. just awesome work!
  23. the paint should be killer romell. great job in making those wheels/ tires fit!
  24. greg, looking awesome! this car has traveled a very long distance from a stock camaro body. your refinements are absolutely headed in the right direction. keep up the great work!!!!
