  1. Oh wow , I figured you were going to use a resin conversion. I am really impressed now - Nice work !
  2. Travis - that is really cool on the Birthday dates ! Chassis is looking straight and level , should make the rest of the truck assembly a breeze. Testors Dullcoat works really well on chromed pieces to give them a realistic appearance. Wash the items first with a degreasing dish soap first.
  3. That is some really nice work you showing there. I dont detail engines anymore - but when I use to. Masking tape cut in thin strips worked really well for belts and can be built up with multiple thickness . Sorry this is the only example I could find
  4. I like this one, always had a soft spot for those old CF trucks. You really captured the look on one you would see as it was pulling into the truckstop fuel island. For your first time weathering that snow sure looks like snow to me
  5. Wow - Cummins V-12 , that is some serious engine. I spent many a hours working on V-16's Very cool pictures Dennis, I would of liked to been there to have watched.
  6. Nice trucks Tommy, I really like the cab color of the 281.
  7. Nice work on the valve covers KJ.
  8. Finished this one up last night. I was hoping for a nice day for outside pictures - no such luck. These kits are just great , price can not be beat and with a razor saw anything is possible. Thank you to all who followed the progress of it. Thanks for looking in
  9. Clayton - I have read through this several times. May I make a suggestion - I would really go with some .010" or .015" styrene to do your in cab flames. Easier to work with and it wont have that over thick look to it. You might even consider another mask and just use it painted up ..
  10. I like this project but I hope your going to use the headache rack or make one. It makes me nervous thinking about that loader or shovel operator being more attentive to the Twinkie he is eating then where the load is getting dumped in. What would be cool - exhaust heated bed....
  11. That is a good looking combination. It is a shame it is lo longer on your shelf, but you do have some nice pictures. Someday I would like to build a bunch of kits like the boxarts.
  12. Jerry at Modeltruckin is the only person I know of that makes quality decals. Check the paint shop section - there might be something on other brands of trucks that might come close. http://www.modeltruckin.com/store/
  13. Great looking combination, parts can be the devil to find for these Transtar's. I really like the "cowgirls" That was a real box of treasure you picked up.
  14. Super representation of the original. Nothing better then have a close reference to go by !
  15. Fantastic color combination and a very good looking model !
  16. That is a fine looking Peterbilt. Yes those kits may be simple but they are very popular kits and have so many possibilities.
  17. I want to move to North Carolina as they have "Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits" I never could drive by one without stopping while on vacation this past Summer.
  18. That is way cool - that article made my day !
  19. Just because you keep asking Travis - that would be a perfect paint scheme for your truck. Dennis - I have a few other tricks in my bag for this one.
  20. Ken your attention to detail is really outstanding.
  21. “One must maintain a little bittle of summer, even in the middle of winter.” ― Henry David Thoreau Clayton this is a very informative thread for making a "po boy" 379 . Did you ever complete this truck - I am curious on how the flame mask worked out.
  22. That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time.
  23. Great idea on the fan, I really like the bracket and bolt heads. This frame is starting to remind me of that "Johnny Cash" song - "One piece at a time"
  24. Jim the bug shield is a KFS product. Sadly they have discontinued them. Thank you for the tip on the marker lights - I will fix that easily. I should of caught that - but I was just progressing along not paying attention.
