  2. Jacking Looking Sweet man! Hey I know of a place you can find LED's. try http://www.superbrightleds.com/ I gotten a bunch of stuff there and it seems like they have a lot more now too. Take a look and you may find something that would work if you did kind of like an awning over it. Keep up the great work. this is a killer build.
  3. Rom.... That looks awesome with the decals. Nice work and placement of them. The front clip looks even better now that you outlined the white folds. What did you use to do them? Great job bud!
  4. Ok so a quick afternoon teaser for you, Although I am not done working on it today. I have finally finished up the gas pedal other than I may touch it up just a little bit but so far I am happy with it. I added the toe strap on it and here are a few pics to show you.... Thanks for looking Here is the gas pedal with the toe strap I made for it: Here it is from another angle: And here is two views of it mocked up in the chassis: Be back later with more progress......
  5. Oh Rom... I am waiting for some more paint updates.... I am excited to see what you have in store for us next on this build.
  6. Bill ..... Beautiful work man. This think is looking killer. Hey is your cogg belt from Mcmaster carr?? Keep up the great work on this.
  7. Jack this is looking amazing man. Great work on the chassis as well as the front bumper. are you using one of those mini glass beaders from Micro Mark??
  8. Curt ... this is going to be a great build. I have always wanted to do one myself.
  9. Mike... you are right about not pushing it. If it is ready and I am happy then I will get some primer on it but if not I won't shoot it til its ready. I have small details to clean up and a few more tabs and a couple of misc. things to do to it. Richard... thanks man. I will be going with the one on the left. I am going to be working on the toe clip here in a few. so I will have pics soon. Charlie has some great stuff for sure and a great guy to work with.
  10. Richard... that is awesome with scale hardware. Bob is a great guy to deal with and he has great parts and products. I have a bunch of his stuff as well as some of the Tuner model hardware too.
  11. Thanks Mike... I just got done doing some house chores and its time to make some food then sit down and work on this build the rest of the day . If I am lucky I may have this in primer this weekend. Oh Yeah!!
  12. Very Nice.... You are off to a great start!!
  13. Charlie... Thanks man. You are right I may be able to get into the Guinness book of world records for the pedals for for redoing the chassis as many times as I did... . You are welcome for the order. I was surprised at how fast the parts got here. Thanks again. Brad.... Thanks buddy. Yep I had to pick up a couple of the 4 barrels from Charlie to have in my collection. But I do have a little secret up my sleeve for another build. I have been toying with the idea of doing a Super Gas Roadster as a build in the future. Rom.... Thanks man. Yes it is nice when the Mailman brings good stuff like this. You know I am going to have to step up my build on my pro mod. everyone here has set the bar high for the pro mod cars. So I am going to have to bring my "A" game when I start that build. Let me also mention that in my cue of builds including this funny car and the purple1/16th FED thats been in the works for quite some time that I just need to finish it up so i am done with it. It's not as detailed as this funny car but then again it was started 15 years ago....haha, I have 7 that I would like to do so far... hahaha I know I am nuts but a couple of them are going to be really cool and I can't wait to get to a couple of them. I haven't figured out if I wanted to do the pro mod frame out of plastic or brass yet.
  14. Tyrone... great job on adding the black pinstripe around the graphics. Its looks great.
  15. Here is the new pedal design on the left and the old one on the right. The new one is made up of 13 pieces: I added the last mounting tab for the gas pedal base. I still need to transfer drill the hole for the bolt: Here are some 1/16th scale goodies I got in the mail today from Charlie:
  16. Hello All.... Got some more progress pics to show you. I messed around tonight with designing another gas pedal and getting another tab done for the mounting bracket. Here I started out with cutting pieces to make the pedal: I was using rulers as guides to keeping this straight when I glued them together: Adding in the inner details of the pedals:
  17. Rom....Looking great buddy!!! Loving all of it. nice work.
  18. Brad... Thanks buddy. Hoping to have more progress to show later Scott... Thanks man. Its making me feel good that I am so close to having some primer on this chassis Richard... Thanks man. I am thinking I am going to make another pedal and change the design up just a tad Off to go work on this build in a few
  19. Rom... I have shot PPG urathane clears over my decals with no problems at all. but I do as you said and I mist the first coat or two before laying any heavier coats. And with clears I usually allow 20/25 mins between coats when I spray. I have some of the same airbrush sized paints from HOK and I have reduced them every time I have shot it. 50% paint 50% reducer. I am sure you could probably spray them. Here is a link to house of Kolor air brush PDF file: http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/news/AirBrush_Flyer.pdf
  20. Hey Jack... I spray a lot of the HOK and PPG base coats myself. Then they are cleared with urathane clear. When I spray the bases i typicall wait 10 to 15 mins in between coats. now you have to realize it all depends on the temperature you are spraying in and the reducer you are using. in hotter weather you will want to use a slower reducer and in colder weather you would want a faster reducer. reducers usually come in slow, medium and fast. now back to the question of waiting to tape and spray the next color. after I get a good 2 to 4 coats of base I will then spray typicaly 2 coats on inner coat clear. inner coat clear is treated just like a base and i wait 10/15 mins for it to flash before.the next coat. I would wait probably about 25/30 mins for the inner coat to cure nice then i start taping out my graphics and repeating tje se steps until all colors are done. then after that i spray 3 to 4 coats of clear and then start color sanding it and polishing it a few days later. i usually wait 3 to 5 days. I didnt mean to hijack Roms thread but thought I could give some insight on how I spray my paints. if you have other questions i will answer as best as i can.
  21. John... thanks bud. Means alot coming from one of the top builders in my book. I can't wait to get back home later and start working on it again.
  22. Thanks Darryl and Joe! I tinkered a little more tonight on this gas pedal and made a little more progress. Tomorrow I should be able to finish it up. but I am considering redoing the actual pedal. so we shall see what I do lol I still have one more tab to make and then the toe clips. Then it should be good to go. Here is where I got tonight. I apologize about the pictures being a little crappy tonight, the camera didn't quite focus as nice as I would have liked. I started out tonight by getting the tab with the double holes in it drilled and shaped up. Then I messed with placement and how I was going to keep it in place while I glued it. There is one more tab I will make tomorrow and it will attach to the cross tube: Then I had to place the gas pedal mounting plate on the tabs and insert the bolts: Here I added the pedal in place and put the transmission in to get a feel how it all would look together:
  23. Rom... I am digging the new update and the graphics on the rear. It looks great and what an awesome job you are doing. You are making me think and get some ideas for my Pro Mod build for the future.
  24. Tyrone... Killer rework man. I agree with Joe here. it looks much better. I can't wait to see it with the black stripes and clear. you have any plans for any decals?
  25. Jack... Your progress is just awesome! It is coming together quite fast. I love the pic of it mocked up with the wheels and engine. It looks awesome. Nice work man!
