1-8 scale 69 camaro pro mod (mike hill's car)
Mooneyzs replied to comp1839's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Dave... thanks for being very pro active about getting this body done and for us to be able to have printed in 1/16 scale is just awesome. To me it doesnt sound like its too much prep work for the body. the end result is that you will get a more accurate and better finish this way. I really would like to get one as well. I have a bunch of parts coming from TDR/shapeways and can't wait to have them in hand to play with. -

Jack... you are welcome. I look forward to you posting your builds. Especially this FE dragster you are looking to winning Jim... WOW what can I say, Your work always amazes me. I was wondering if you would be able to do the cogs like I had drawn up and man you knocked these pulleys out of the park for me. I am stoked about these. A BIG Thank you goes out to you Jim. I am looking forward to seeing the the Fuel Distribution blocks when you get them done. I still have some more items I need to draw up for the Fire Bottle and get drawings over to you. Hello Jack and welcome to this fun site. It is a compliment that you have joined because of my project. There are alot of great builders here that will welcome you to this board and everyone is more than willing to help each other out here. Mark Johnson is a man who does a good deal of resin casting engines and he does some killer work and the quality is very nice from him. The engine that I am using in this engine is a Mark Johnson 427 Hemi Resin engine. He has many other complete engine kits from a 427 Hemi, 392 Hemi (Injected or Blown), 417 Donovan, he also has a big block ford and is currently working on a Big Block Chevy.... by the way these are all 1/16th scale. I belive that he may also have some 1/25th stuff but I have only seen the 1/16th scale engines. let me get his email addy for you. I odn't believe that he has a website. Rob from RBMotion is a great guy and his parts are just awesome. you can't go wrong there. A few other places that I use for my parts and builds are: Charlie at Pro-Tech has some great quality products, His braided line is the best in the business. He carries photo-etch, resin and some metal cast parts. Great guy to work with as well. I have also gotten some of my 1/16th scale stuff from Terry at Flash Point resins and I have also purchased parts from Rodger at Competition resins. If you are looking for some great sets of rims look no further than Jim at Micro Nitro, he is doing some killer stuff that you will see in some off the other 1/16th scale builds here. If you have any questions feel free to ask. -
Nice job on the headers Derrick. You are doing one heck of a job bro. Did I hear Turbo??? wonder what you are going to put it in... lol

I need some good tips concerning a 1/16 funny car.
Mooneyzs replied to brad4321's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hey Brad... you can take a look at my 1/16 Army Vega build and see how i moved the rearend up to get the ride height down. I dont remember which page its on but I did rework the chassis by cutting the rearend mounting.tabs off the kits chassis and moving them up. then I renforced them with a small piece of sheet plastic behind them. it wasnt too hard of a modification and really helped with the stancd of the car. -

Breaking NEWS Model King/Revell-1/16 and YOU!
Mooneyzs replied to Decal Art's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Art... I am glad to hear that you did get my voice mail. I wanted to make sure because I wasn't sure if I pressed the right button to deliver the voice mail... . Thanks for the information on the decals. That would be great if chuck redid them. But I will let you know that ever since I have started this kit its been my intention that I would be painting the red and planning a way to paint the pin strip black around it as well. I wasn't too fond of how the decal was split up around the fender area and plus the fact that you mentioned that the color for the red is off. I wish I had an Alps printer to print off a set of headlights & tail lights myself. I know that Slixx was supposed to be having a 1/16th headlights & grilles decal but when I last talked to them they had no clue when they were going to have them done so with that I figured I need to get in touch with Chuck and see what he possibly had. Look forward to chatting with you. -
