  1. I will have to see if i.have any in my photo referece folder at home
  2. Scott... The part number from McMaster is 9452K111 and size is 1/32" ID and 3/32" OD. AS568A-001 is the industry number for that type and size. you could give to a local supplier a call and see if they have some.
  3. Scott.... I am.not exactly sure what shipping is for these I had these added to an order they were doing at my work so i didnt have to pay for shipping lol. I was able sit down for a few last night and started. Working on the hubs. I deburred them with very fine sand paper and started tapping the holes for the studs. When i get home from work tonight I will finish tapping the holes, make the studs and get them installed. I will post pics of them when I get them done.
  4. Brad this is looking sweet man!! Those side tins look gorgeous. You are knocking this.build out of the park. Glad you were able to get some more bench time on this. Keep up that great work.
  5. Brad.... Thanks for the words of encouragement. Cant tell you how excited I am to sit down and do a little work on this tonight. I.havent been able to touch this for over a week now and am having widthdrawls lol. Glad you enjoying following along and thanks for all of the suggestions and feedback.
  6. Joe... Thank you for the information on the tubing I will take a look and make an order. Thanks for also letting me know which sizes are telescoping. I am looking forward to seeing some of your builds they sound awesome. Gotta ask what are you soldring the stainless tubes with? Are you using the same thing you solder brass with? Thanks
  7. Wow that is a beautiful build. Very nicely done I must say. I do have to ask, is this a 1/16th or 1/25th scale build? Great job on this! Keep.up the great work.
  8. Hey Joe... Thanks man. I have been debating if I was going to go back and redo the radius rods on this one. I started this kit 15 years ago and the chassis was build to what you see here with the front end like that. The only thing I have done to it this year is the paint and decals. I really want to get this kit finished and have been focusing more on my 1/16th scale Funny Car. If you take a look at that thread you will see that I am using RB Motions rod ends there. Robert does some great work and I love his products. I recently had him to some custom nuts for me, which will be for all of the fiting ends on the injector and manifold fuel lines. After using the rod ends on the funny car, I will most likely go back and fix the ones on this build too. It looks so much better than what they provide in the kit. I do have to ask where did you get your .050 Stainless tubbing from? On my funny car I used 1/16 aluminum tubing and had to drill the ends out a tad. I am hoping to get to work more on this one here soon. The body needs to be finished color sanding and polishing out. so far I have only gotten two of them done. Darryl... Thanks man. this was all shot with HOK and PPG base coats and PPG's 2020 Urathane Clear. Bart... Thanks.... the color sanding and polishing may be tedious but worth it in the end ..... I am having issues trying to figure if I sould work on this or the Funny Car... haha.... I really would like to have this one finished before the funny car just because the detail level isn't at extensive on it and since It would be nice to finish it up. Guess I need to split my time on these two build. I was hoping to have both done possibly by the NNL's in Santa Clara in Feburary but not sure if i will get them done due to work right now but wanted to finish them up in time for the Arizona Desert Scale Classic in April this next year.
  9. Alright Fellas....gotta share what I got in the mail with you yesterday. I received my hub from Jim @ Micro Nitro and he did a great job on them. I can't wait to get off work tonight so that I can start working on them a little. Going to tap the holes and ge the wheel studs put in and debur them just a smidge. A big thanks goes out to Jim for his work on these. here are the pics.... The Front side of the Hubs: The Back side of the Hubs: Here is the hubs inserted into the disk brake, I had to slightly sand the inside of my photo etch disks since the ID were a smidge small:
  10. Jim thanks bud... I bet they should get here today or tomorrow then. Those rotors look great made out of graphite impregnated teflon. I am planing on making some more drawings for you as well. Just need to find the time and i will send them.
  11. Bart those parts are going to look awesome on your build. Man Jim does some great work doesnt he. I am still waiting for my hubs. Saw a finished pic of them and they look great. So i am very stoked to het them mocked up when I get them. I love that bell housing, very awesome!
  12. John.... Thank you for the kind words. There are so many great builders on this site and for you to put me up there with the rest of them means alot. Its big shoes to fill because I feel there are many better builders than myself. I feel honored you would put me up there. I have always admired your work. Thank you Scott Bart... Thanks man, I kept wondering how I was going to get the look I was going for. And if any of you are interested in doing this you can get these O-rings from McMaster-Carr.com. They were the smallest size that they carried and for a pack of 100 it was like $1.92. I was going to look up another company called parker-hannifin to see if they carry even smaller ones. Let me know if you guys want the part number to these from McMaster. Tyrone, Joe & Brad.... Thank you all. I have been learning alot from everyone on this site and just honored to be part of a great community here.
  13. Thanks guys.... I was pretty stoked that I got the look I was hoping for. I originally started out with wrapping wire around the rod end and using heat shrink tubing over that. Just didnt look right and thought of the o-ring idea. Brad... You are right about the build being made up of small steps. I just have been itching to work more on this build but havent had the time I would like. Hopefully soon i will have some more updates to share.
  14. Wow this is totally cool!! Awesome job on this.I really love the 2nd picture where the angle is just right and how you see the some what flat tire. Nice work on this.
  15. Very Cool looking project. going to be nice with some color on there. Any ideas on the colors you are going to use?
  16. I was able to sit down for a few mins tonight after working a 13-14 hour day needless to say I am beat and need to get to bed... But I sat down for about 15 mins to work on a little more detail to the master cylinder. I added the rubber boots on the arms that would stroke on the cylinders. I used very small rubber O-rings to create the boot. I know its not much of an update but was pretty excited about getting this done. Thanks for looking Master Cylinder Boots:
  17. That engine looks great with the details Wayne. Nice work! If it was me I wouldnt really care what others thought if the system wasnt plummed 100% correct. I think the detail looks awesome iys clean and looks great, thats all that matters. Keep up the great work.
  18. Bart you are welcome. It seems I have seen people ask the question on tubing sizes lately and figured I would share the info. Take in mind that these sizes are for 1/16th scale. If you want it for 1/24 or 1/25th just multiply or divide by the scale depending on which way you are trying to convert to.
  19. Hello Michael.... Count me in as another that will be interested in the 1/16th scale parts you will be doing. Its great to see more stuff out there for this scale. 1. What is the diameter of the tube you'll use for your rear axles? I need to set the hole size for the 4-link suspension to match. I have to agree with Bart on this one that it depends on what rear end the builder will be using or if he/she will be scratch building themself or using and aftermarket resin one. If its possible to make with a smaller size and if the builder can open them up that would be great too. 2. What diameter do you use for your roll cages? I need to make sure the suspension brackets will fit around them. As far a tubing sizes i would say that is going to very from builder to builder depending on what they will go with. Here is a list of what sizes I think will be common: ROD .08 (16) = 1.28, equivalent to 1-1/4" tubing .100(16) = 1.60, equivalent to 1-5/8" tubing TUBING .093(16) = 1.48, equivalent to 1-1/2" tubing .125(16) = 2.00, equivalent to 2" tubing .156(16) = 2.496, equivalent to 2-1/2" tubing .188(16) = 3.008, equivalent to 3" tubing 3. Lastly, What size screws do you use to connect your suspension pieces (Tie Rods, Suspension Links, etc) to the brass mounts? 00-90? 0-80? 1-72? I've never built at 1:16 so i'm not sure what you would go with? I personnaly have been using Scale hardware for most of my hardware for my builds and depending on the part it will vary with what I will use for the bolts. Here is a list that I can say what Bolts I use from them: Threaded Hex Bolts .8 mm threaded hex bolt, Hex head = .042", Dia. = .031", Length = .100" equivalent to a 1/2" bolt 1.00 mm threaded hex bolt, Hex head = .055", Dia, =.039", Length = .140" equivalent to a 5/8" Bolt 1.1 mm threaded hex bolt, Hex head = .055", Dia. = .043", Length = .140" equivalent to a 11/16" Bolt 1.2 mm threaded hex bolt, Hex head = .078", Dia = .047", Length = .315" equivalent to a 3/4" Bolt 1.4 mm threaded hex bolt, Hex head = .078", Dia. = .055", Length = .315" equivalent to a 7/8" Bolt 1.6 mm threaded hex bolt, Hex Head = .096", Dia. = .063", Length = .394" equivalent to a 1" Bolt 00-90 threaded hex bolt, Hex head =.078", Dia. = .047", Length = .500" equivalent to a 3/4" Bolt 00-80 threaded hex bolt, Hex head = .091", Dia = .058", Length = .500" equivalent to a 15/16" Bolt Simulated Hex Bolts .7 mm Simulated hex bolt, Hex Head = .028", Dia. = .016", Length = .118" equivalent to a 7/16" Bolt .85 mm Simulated hex bolt, Hex head = .033", Dia = .020", Length = .118" equivalent to a 5/16" Bolt 1.0 mm Simulated Hex Bolt, Hex head = .039", Dia = .020", Length = .157" equivalent to a 5/16" or 3/8" Bolt I'll reformat the plates to fit, and also plan on some weld drag racing beadlocks scaled to 1:16. I am looking forward to seeing what you will be offering in 1/16th scale and I will be picking some stuff up when you get them made. Its great to see more aftermarket items for us 1/16th scale builders. Thank you!
  20. Oh wow John... This is going to be a totally cool build. It is starting out great! I will be looking forward to all of your updates.
  21. Keith... yep I believe brake bleeding is still a two person job ....lol Thanks for the compliments on the M/C. The adhesive I use varies depending on what I am gluing. For bare plastic I use Weld-on #3, its just like tennax or ambroid pro weld. Weld-on #3 is just like the other two exept that the fact that I get it in either pints or quarts and ends up being cheaper in the long run. Instead of paying like 4 or 5 bucks for a 2oz jar. I got my pints for 12 to 13 dollars. the last time I ordered some I ended up getting 2 pints becasue of how cheap I was able to find it. I think I paid like 15 bucks a quart from a place I found it online the cheapest. The other glues I use are 5 min epoxy, CA glues (Plastic ZAP or Bob Smith industries), Micro Scales Krystal Klear ( white glue) and Gator Glue ( for certain photo-etch pieces). It really depends on what I am actually gluing as to what I will use. Here is a pic of the Weld on #3:
  22. Hey Shane... Thanks man, glad you were able to swing by and take a look again. I appreciate the kind words. Was hoping to have more done but with the way work is right now, kind of stinks. I sat down for a few mins tonight looking at this build. stuck the master cylinder on the bracket and had to shoot a pic of it. No real work done. I did receive some parts from RB Motion for some stuff for the engine, which I was stoked about them getting here. Master Cylinder on the bracket:
  23. Darryl... That trailer diorama is plain Awesome. It looks totally real. You sure you werent walking thru the pits at the races . Great job on this.
  24. Thanks Darryl, I some how missed that it was a curbside, no idea how but went back and read your original post and it was rigth there....man do I feel dumb.... . Love your builds
