  1. Well Fellas... Looks like Photobucket is allowing me to upload pics at the moment and I better take advantage of it when I can. So there has been a little assembly going on with the engine and making small steps. Here are some pics.... Here I have gotten the Blower installed as well as the blower belt and pulleys: another view. you can see the bolts holding down the blower I painted them black since the real car had black oxide bolts on them, plus it gives a little contrast with the Alclad: Here is the start of an Adel clamp that I have made out of some printing plate: Here is the fuel pump completely installed with the cap and bolts. Along with the bolts on the crank pulley: Next up was getting the fuel shut off valve and Tee Fittings installed on the fuel pump: Here is a mock up of the A/N fittings to see what it would look like. I will glue these in when place once they are ready for braided line:
  2. Bob... Thanks man but at this point I don't have the time to start a slumpbuster project. I have no choice but to get this one done. Once done I will wind down on a basically straight out of the box build and maybe finish up 2 different builds I had started a while back. I understand that I have a lot of work to finish this up and at the moment its more like a job than fun anymore but I need to hurry and get this build off my plate because it's starting to take a toll on me.
  3. Paul... thanks man. I don't mind having to pay for fotki because I am currently paying for more storage on photobucket as is but i am so tired of Photobucket having issues and problems all the time.
  4. Hey All... Sorry It's been a little while since I have been on or had any updates. I have had a lot going on lately and progress has been very slow on this build. I was going to post an update tonight but seems I am having photobucket issues again. I really need to switch to fotki or something. I apologize for not responding to each of you individually like I normally do. I can log in but when I go to upload pics it takes me right back to the login page and I have to sign back in. So little bit of a bummer I can't share any pics. I have made a little more progress on the engine but as I mentioned things haven't been moving as fast as I would like. Also I have another set back on the body, This whole build seems that every time I take a step forward it seems I take 2 backwards, I feel I am never going to get it done at this rate anyway, I apologize that I am not able to show the progress I have made. Photobucket is really ticking me off. Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon so I can post some pics.
  5. Rich... Looking good. I am digging what you are doing on this so far. It is possible that it could of been my 62 Pro Street that I Posted years ago because I took an Amt 67 Chevelle Pro Street chassis and grafted the tubs onto the '62 like you are doing. I am digging the color you went with. Looks great!
  6. Tim.... I am waiting on hearing back from the seller to see if they still have it. I will keep you posted on it.
  7. Tim... are you freaking serious... Holy Smokes you have blown me away. man do those look great!! They are going to look so good once you get them painted an on the rear end. I am at a loss of works. Very Nice work!!
  8. John.... Killer Paint work. Your paint jobs are always some of the very best on here. With out a doubt this is going to 100 times way better than the original. Nice work, It should make Mark very proud he chose you for this one. Again nice job!
  9. Good Morning Guys..... I figured it was time to post an update. Things are coming along but they are moving way slower than I was expecting. I have had a few hurdles and set backs in the process but I making my way thru things. Anyway I was finally able to finally Finish getting the plug wires installed. Here are a few pics of the little progress that has been made. I was finally able to get the distributor glued in place and got the decal added as well: Here is the wire looms, I started out with Pro Techs 1/25 scale wire looms and drilled them out to be able to use Pro Tech's 1/16th scale plug wire. I then painted them blue since the real car's were blue: Here is the left side plug wires, I also weathered the plug wires to dirty them up a little bit: Here is a front shot view: And here is the right side plug wires: another view:
  10. John... Thanks for the kind comments. You are right that every build tends to have set backs and sometimes I found that I was happier with the part after I had remade it the 3rd time around...lol. I think sometimes at the point I am at with assembly things that I am trying to be so careful not to mess or screw anything up that I mess something up. Yes I drew the blower up and had it 3D printed at Shapeways, I sanded and primered and sanded some more and primered more until I was happy with how smooth it was. Then it was painted with Alclad's Polished Aluminum. Bill.... Thank you. I hear you about not rushing it to just get it finished. There are days I have had were the motivation just isn't there and I don't go to the bench. With any build as you mentioned there tends to be minor set backs. I have been working thru those. Mitch... Thank you very much for the kind words. I had to look into drawing up and having parts 3D printed since some of the parts I needed to make this build wasn't available anywhere. I have been trying to make this as close to the real car as possible, It's made me push my limits and things I never though I could do. So far I am happy with the out come. It's no where near perfect but good enough for me. I would just like to see it done now...lol
  11. Paul... I am loving the mock up on this. It is looking Killer with the engine sitting in the chassis and having the body on. Such nice work!! Keep up the killer work, It is looking great!!
  12. Tim... Those hubs are a work of Art and they look Killer. Dude you are knocking this build out of the part. You keep raising that bar for the rest of us. I can't wait to see what you show us next that you make, all I know is it is going to be good. I am loving the look of that CS1, I am sorry I wasn't able to draw one up sooner but my plate is full at the moment and a little overwhelmed but I am glad that Paul was able to get his sized down for ya and it looks like it turned out great!! I will be patiently waiting for your next update. Cheers!!
  13. Tim... Right on... You are going to do one heck of a job on this scoop. It is shaping up very nicely so far. Keep up the great work.
  14. John... Glad to see you got the working lights done up and that the soldering worked out for ya. It's looking good. Another talent to check off your list.
  15. John... You are one Bad A$$!! This thing is stunning. I am sure you have to be stoked to only have a few details left to do tomorrow. Can you believe that you will be done with this bad boy ?? This model is just Awesome man and looks killer. You always knock it out of the park with your builds.
  16. Dang Johnny... that is looking Killer. Nice work on the front end. It looks great. Totally digging this build.. Alclad looks amazing.
  17. John... It's looking great man!! You have always been crafty when it comes to using many different materials. I am enjoying what you have done here and its turning out Killer. Nice work my friend!!
  18. Bob... Thanks man I appreciate it. I have been putting that pressure on myself because I know it needs to get done. Paul... Thanks man, I have let myself get overwhelmed with things and trying so hard to make things look perfect, which it's far away from being perfect at this point. But seems every time I feel I am making some good strides on the build something comes along and knocks me off my feet and I have to go back wards and Fix more things. That's why I just want this thing done. That would make it a nightmare for Mark huh... lol. After this I will need to plan another build or two for GSL in 2 years . I was hoping to have an update tonight but yeah not going to happen. Soon.. Very soon....
  19. Paul... Looking awesome my friend. I am loving what you are doing. I think I am starting to rub off on ya.... adding head gaskets an all . what material did you use. Were you able to find thin copper?? It's looking really nice with the gasket in place. and I like how you are organizing all of the parts. Looks awesome
  20. Paul.... Looking good buddy!! Love seeing progress come together on this build. Also glad to.hear you are getting the Milling adapter, I can't wait to see what you make with it. So I just have to ask what color did you use over black for the hard anodize? Keep up the great work.
  21. John... You keep raising the bar on your builds. That seat I looking awesome Brother. Love that you flocked the inserts and the contrast that you get between the seat and inserts. Totally digging the scratch build radio and antenna. Your little touches always makes your builds even better.
  22. Rob sounds to me like its the Solvents in paint that is causing the decals to clear. I had this happen to me recently and my usual thing to do is to mist the first couple of coats over the body and decals before I got into a heavier coat. Now keep in mine I am shooting Automotive Clear (typically PPG DCU2020 or Omni Plus Urethane's) over my stuff. I never had any trouble in the past with it. Except my issue recently and it was due to putting too heavy of a coat on at first for me. I would try waiting a little longer between coast to let the solvents flash off. You could also put the body under a head lamp, Now not to close so that you don't melt the body but enough that its a little warmer to help the paint dry a little quicker.
  23. Fabrizio... Thanks man, I appreciate it. Danno... I know it is. Was Just really frustrated when I posted that. Bob... Thanks, It's not that I haven't dealt with any problems. the problem is I am running out of time and right now I have no extra time in order to get this done in time for a show. There is less than 2 Months... actually 7 weeks to be exact.
  24. I am at a point where I am so tired and fustrated ove4 having these little hiccups that if I can't get it fixed the way i want then I probably won't go to DSC.
  25. Mike... I honestly don't know what I would do if they wanted one build. I have alot of time in it but building other one would go alot quicker then again I am trade to build some other builds besides another funny car at the moment. Well one idea would be if I was able to go visit the real car at Hendricks Motor sports and get all the reference pics I could but I know it's in Mr H's private collection so I probably wouldn't be able to even get close or see it. Brad... that could be done but wouldn't turn out all that great in my opinion printing it as an assembly. Bill... Thank you. .. it's getting closer thats for sure. Joe... thanks.. I am so ready to be done with this one. Bruce... thank you. There are moments that this build test's my patience for sure. Well guys it seems every time that I feel i am making good progress and moving forward, something happens and the build takes steps backwards... getting really tired of this happening every step of the way I feel like saying screw it and shelving it...
