Tim.... You amaze me with every update you post. Looks like you figured out that radius on the blower and how to do the ribs. I can't wait to see it done. Looking Killer!!
-
John.... Holy Smoke Brother you are the Man and it was worth the wait for these updates. Man you have hit a home run on this so far. I love all of the little details that you have done so far to it. Those weld beads have blown me away. Between that and all of the gorgeous Alclad work, then lacing your own wheels. This is one of your best by far and another ones of yours that will be on my favorites list. I am already looking forward to your next updates for us, I know they will top this one.

That was a crazy wreck for sure. Glad everyone was ok. I could not believe how far Dixon's car flew.

You are Welcome Ron... Yeah it is totally crazy what all can be printed. I have been pushing the limits with a few things I have been drawing up just to see what I can and can't have printed. I would do as Michael mentioned and probably just primer and sand, then repeat as needed I know that the super glue is hard as a rock and sucks sanding, Plus you don't want to loose any details. Take your time and not rush anything, I am sure you will do an awesome job on it. -

Ron... Awesome body, going to be a killer build. Now this body doesn't feel like Resin because the material is actually Nylon. They start out with Nylon Powder and sinter the powder layer by layer with a laser. You will want to clean the body by washing it in warm water with some dawn. and to seal you can you use some thin superglue or you can primer with some high build primer, sand and repeat. either way you are going to have to prep the body with sanding. The reason you are seeing the circle like pattern in the body is from the laser doing its thing to bond the material together. It also depends on the orientation of the part in the printer on how the layers are built up. Here are a few youtube videos that TDR Innovations have done to clean and seal some of their items that you may find helpful. Clay... I am so stoked and excited to see you posting this build here. This is going to be one heck of a build that you are going to knock out of the park. You know I will be following along for sure and IF you need anything you know I am willing to help out. I am still trying to find info pit on tat injector hat. Everything is looking killer. The chassis, front Axle are works of art. And those front wheels are looking Great on there Seeing this build it has given me some motivation to get my F/C done so I can start my FED i have been wanting to do. As Tim has mentioned your builds alway inspire me. Keep up the killer work!

Steve.... I just stumbled across this build. I am glad to hear that my Army Vega F/C has inspired you. You are off to a great start on this one. Looking Good. I think you should of put this build in the Drag Racing section . Keep up the great work and I look forward to more progress on this. -
This is going to be a killer build. Looking great so far with all of the parts. Did you machine the Coilovers, Valve Covers, Rack and Pinion and pulleys yourself or who did you get them from. They are very nice piece of works.

Michael.. If they aren't responding you should try Coast Airbrush out of Southern California. Here is their link: http://www.coastairbrush.com/categories.asp?cat=44 Once you go here you can click on which line you want... for example Pear Base Coats. Then you can pick which color and what size... 1oz, 2oz, 4oz, 8oz Pricing depends on the color but on average the 1oz is $5.95, 2oz is $8.95, 4oz is $16.95, 8oz is $32.00. I personal buy them not reduced because I prefer to reduce my own paints. Anyways hope this helps.

Oh Art... Come out come out where ever you are.... I got Brass Midget on the Brain. Hoping you get back to this one really soon. Miss seeing your awesome work!!

Randy... Randy... Randy... Wow this thing is Steller my friend. Then to top it all off you add a little helmet. I am totally digging it, that helmet may be my favorite part at the moment, I love it. Nice work How much more is left on this bad boy??

That's a great Idea and I love that it is sealed.

69 pro mod chevelle, chassis started mock ups
Mooneyzs replied to mr68gts's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Paul... I think the Chevelle is trying to tell you something.... It wants to go Brass.... Once you go Brass you never go back... Sorry to hear about the troubles with it in the trailer. Just remember there is always...... But no Stealing it from me just yet.... -
Tim... awesome start on the blower. I know that you can nail this. Hey another suggestion but not sure if this is what you used to machine the radius or not but what if you use a corner rounding end mill? Just a thought to get that radius. If you need the radius, I can look it up on the CAD model I did for the Blower. Keep up the great work on this awesome build.

Tim... I am starting to think that I am not quite so nuts after all... Or maybe that there is just someone as crazy a me out there...LOL Dude you have crushed this out of the park. Nice work on the fuel distribution blocks. I can only imagine how tuff it really was to set things up. Its looking Stellar My friend!! Keep up the great work.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
Mooneyzs replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
John... Thanks Brother... I was a little bummed not to have it done in time for GSL but it's ok because it would of been rushed and I probably would of messed something up. I still had a blast at GSL hanging out with everyone. I appreciate your kind words. Simon... Thank you, much appreciated. Joe... Thanks man. Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. Hopefully you are feeling better by now. Bob... Thanks but there aren't any Vroom Vroom sounds lately. I had some more hurdles and have gone backwards again. looks like I will that part aside and try to work on something else. Bruce... Thank you. Scott... Maybe that's what I have been doing wrong all this time.... Not making the engine sounds while building... Shawn... Thanks Brother!! Scott P... Thank you very much for the kind words Brother!! You are right that this has been a long time coming. I couldn't be happier at this point.... well I could if it was finished... haha. I really want to get the braided line on this engine to see that all together and wish that some of it was better. Bill... Thank you. once its done I will take pics of it outside. one thing I want to try and do is get some pics of it at the same angles as my reference pictures. Think it would be pretty neat to see them next to one another. Bob... Thank you. I would like to send Prudhomme pics of it when it's done to see if he would respond. Lane... Thank you very much. This build was started back in 2011 and I have been building it for little over 6 years now and I am guessing at this point I am well over 2000 hours into it. I need to update my spreadsheet for the time I have into it to get an accurate Idea of the time. Danny... Thanks man!! I will be magic when I finally finish it or maybe just a Miracle...lol I am so ready to be done with with build so I can move on to some others at this point. Brad... Thanks Buddy!! Scott H... Thanks man! You gave me an idea... I wonder if my work would let me take pics of it out on the Tarmac. Danno... You know I am the King of "Next Year". I think I am going to design a Crown and have it 3D printed so that it can be passed down to the next candidate... haha . for those of you that watch Street Outlaws how they have a Crown for the #1 spot.... this could be a Crown for the "Next Year" slot.... but who knows I could still be saying next year the way things are going for me....lol Randy D... Thank you My friend!! I appreciate the kind words. as I mentioned earlier.... I can't wait to have the rest of the plumbing completed on this engine just to see how it looks. We missed you for sure at GSL but understand. Niko... Thank you my friend... I really appreciate the kind words. I have to give the weathering credit to John Teresi because he explained to me how he does his weathering to his tires and I tried my best to make it look as good as his but I have a ways to go before my weathering skill are anything like his. Well Fellas.... I am going to try hard and get some work done on this weekend and just hope its steps going forward instead of backwards again. Hopefully I will have some updates to post for you guys. -
Tim... everything is so precise and perfect. That set up is just gorgeous. I sorta feel like Paul where I want to Can the Funny Car now. I amgetting tired of taking steps backwards and having to fix things with everything. Looking forward to what your next update will bring us.
