  1. Paul... Awesome work... I am loving the progress you are making on the new chassis. It's looking great so far. Keep plugging away and it the chassis will be done in no time. I am looking forward to more. By the way that injector hat looks familiar....
  2. Kenny... TDR has a Hilborn Injection set up for a Big Block Chevy if you wanted to go that route. https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/engine-shop/chevy-engine-selection/bbc-induction-kits/bbc-hilborn-fuel-injection-sys https://www.shapeways.com/product/HC2KNX5K6/1-16-bbc-hilborn-injection-system?li=shortUrl I didn't see a Hilborn set up for a Small Block but they do have a Small Block Weber Intake system: https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/engine-shop/chevy-engine-selection/sbc-intake-kits/sbc-weber-intake-system https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/engine-shop/chevy-engine-selection/sbc-intake-kits/sbc-weber-intake-system/kit-info-sbc-weber-intake-system https://www.shapeways.com/product/7QQ2AKBPF/1-16-sbc-weber-intake-system?li=shortUrl
  3. Bill... Here is a few links to some Parts from TDR along with links to their parts on Shapways: Quick Change: https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/chassis-shop/tdr-rear-end-department https://www.shapeways.com/product/UR8VBY7EE/1-12-halibrand-quick-change-rear-with-disk-brakes?li=shortUrl https://www.shapeways.com/product/UKP3DRB5Z/1-12-halibrand-quick-change-rear-end?li=shortUrl S.C.o.T Blower: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PFU8CQVK4/1-12-flathead-scot-blower-kit?li=shortUrl https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/engine-shop/ford-engine-selection/flathead-ford-induction-systems Now I am not sure were to find a Chevy LS engine.
  4. Tim... those calipers are looking Great!! You know its fun finally seeing paint on parts!
  5. Scott P... Thank you very much Scott H... Thank you, hopefully I will soon be working on a scale model . I actually draw all of my stuff up on a CAD Program I have and when it comes to printing the parts I outsource them to Shapeways and have them print my stuff. But Honestly I think my Stuff actually gets printed from White Clouds. Shapeways outsources some of the work. Mike... Thank you... Was thinking about 90% Nitro Brad... Thank you Very Much. I am glad that the Juices have started to flow again. Yes we will have to catch up soon for sure. Randy... Thank you. It's always great to hear from ya. feels good to be back at the bench. Paul... Thanks, Sounds like a plan. Danno... Thank you Joe.. Thanks buddy. Glad to hear that you have been trying to get to the bench too. Hoping to get some good bench time in part of this weekend and have an update soon.
  6. Tim... you are killing me Smalls.. . That totally looks like the real thing. You are one heck of a craftsman with some serious Talent that's for sure. Love your work. Can't wait to see what you surprise us with next.
  7. Mike... thanks, it felt good to get back to the bench.
  8. Well Fellas... I finally decided to sit down at the bench and made a little progress tonight. I worked on the starter bracket that attaches to the blower. I drew it up in my CAD program, had it 3D printed and then painted it with Alclad. I had to make some extension tubes which I made from some Ablion Alloys Nickle Silver tube and installed hardware on it. Everything was installed and glued in place. Felt good to be able to cross one of many items left to complete this build. Here are a couple of pics, they aren't the best pics but was rushing to take them..... Here is the Stater Engagement Bracket installed onto the blower: Front View: Side View: Top View:
  9. Bill... Pics look great. Great looking build, Nice work.
  10. Dave.... that is some exceptional work my friend. Love seeing how you are making your templates for patterns and then actually forming the Aluminum. Gorgeous work.work . Love seeing the work on the scoop that Paul has model up for you, it's just awesome. You are about ready to.fire this bad boy up!!
  11. Tim... this build is nothing short of outstanding, it is a gorgeous build and I love that you have gotten some color on a few parts. I know what that milestone and accomplishment is like after working so long and hard on things then to finally start seeing it all come together. You have set the bar so high for the rest of us on drags cars. You should be nothing but proud with this build. To see you pretty much make everything from scratch just blows me away. Big fan of your work and skills my friend. Cheers, looking forward to your next awesome update.
  12. Paul.... I am super excited to see you back at this and taking a stab at it in brass. You are off to a great start and it's definitely an inspiration. It's making me want to get the funny car done so I can move on to the next project and tackle my first brass chassis as well. I am with you where I would love to come up with some kind of bender to be able to bend tubing better. I have kind of an idea that we will have to talk about. I remember having to bend some tubing for a test stand that I designed for another job that the bender would work. We would just need to be able to make a miniature version of it is all, I think.... lol. I think it's doable would just require some time to design and fabricate it. You said it best thst we can do anything all we need to do is try. Looking forward to your next uodate.
  13. Tim... I apologize that it's a little late to the party but my mom found some pics of another car when I was out in Cali visiting them a month ago which has changed what I want to.build next. I realized after I drew it up that it was what you machined... lol
  14. So in the Midst of drawing the Chassis's up. I also decided to draw up another blower just to try and get Juices flowing again. Here is a Hampton 9 Rib blower: I got some goodies that came in the mail today which I ordered a few weeks ago, This here is going to be for a future build that I am currently planning and going to hopefully be doing soon:
  15. Tom... Thank you!! Dave... Thanks my friend... You know it on the Excitement! Randy D... Thank you... Oh yeah I need to be making progress. Brad... Yes I did my friend and yes I am back.
  16. John... WOW, what a spectacular Update my friend. Killer work as usual. I don't think you missed a detail. From the Looks of it, it seems you don't have much more to fabricate on this. Looks like paint and detailing is going to be here real quick. She is going to be a beauty when done....
  17. Tim... Holy Smokes, you have been doing some serious work to this build. Now tell me are you making this a working throttle cable so that when you push on the gas pedal the butterflies in the Crower 8-port injector will move. If so, I need to really consider packing things up and quite the hobby...lol I love the work you have done. Your spoon tests look amazing, I know it's a lot of work but well worth it for reference. I need to do a better job at this myself. Keep up the great work on this and I look forward to your next update.
  18. Ok I am sold.... LOL I added it and like the original poster, I checked a few of Harry's threads and I can see the pics now. Thanks for the heads up on this, It really worked and I am using Chrome.
  19. John.... Nice work buddy... Looks like. You are making some killer progress. Looks like you about have all of the fab work done minus a few things and it could go to paint any day now... Looking forward to more.
  20. Mark... Stunning work my friend. I absolutely love the Gulf Colors on this. Thank you for sharing what you used for the Fiberglass materials. I want to do the same thing on my StageCoach Wheel Stander and was thinking of fabric softener sheets every time I do my laundry...LOL . I had my dad send me some real light weight fiberglass material he had but I know that wouldn't give the Chopped Matt look. Now my next question for you when you applied it did you use fiberglass resin or a thinned out white glue?? One of my favorite details on your engine so far is oddly enough the oil filter. I love that you added the black grip on it and it looks just like the real deal with the decals. Killer work!!!
  21. You probably honestly don't want to know...lol
  22. John.... nice start to the chassis. Looking good my friend, you are already working your magic.
  23. That's awesome Terry.... I look forward to seeing you build this or a few. I am hoping to start on a few myself, couple versions of the car I grew up around.
  24. Brad.... thank you. It's been a little bit of a change of pace, But I really need to get this darn funny car finish or I will never build anything else.... lol. I was debating if I should make these chassis avaliable on Shapeways or not. The bad news is that the two new chassis I drew up can only be printed in the white strong and flexible material due to the size exceeding the Frosted Ultra Detail bounding box for maximum print size. Plus I am not sure what the quality or how much work it would take to clean the chassis up or how many people would be willing to go thru all that. Or the alternative people complaining about spending the money and having to do a lot of work to prep it. Tim... thanks my friend.... not sure what the world is coming too ??. Your know that these dragster chassis's will be done in 1/16th scale and my plan is to make them from Brass. The motivation for one of these was from some pictures my mom found in another photo album of the dragster team I grew up around as a kid. When I was in California a few weeks back my mom showed the pics to me. This dragster is what they ran before I was born prior to their rear engine dragster that I remember as a kid. So as of now my 144" 392 Injected FED project will be pushed back due to this new FED which has more meaning to me. Oh trust me this dragster will have its own thread when I do actually start it. There is a bunch of up front design work that needs to be done before I can start it. Tom... Thank You, I use Solidworks to draw all of my CAD models
  25. Terry... I wish I know of some for you in 1/25th but I only know a couple suppliers in 1/16th scale. What Pro Comp car are you wanting to do from the 70's? I grew up around one in California, well actually my parents were part of the pit crew. There is just something about the Dragsters and Funny Cars from back then. They had attitude and probably my favorite by far.
