  1. The pic appears "squashed" from my view.........I copied the image from Fotki, and pasted in the reply box. That's one way to get pics to show from there------just appears distorted too much for me. .......................And now the blue color I like to use has been scrubbed for the moment it seems.
  2. Same thing happened to me just now Bill, as I tried to reply to the pic I posted and what I was seeing on my end. Oh well...........back to the drawing board!
  3. OK-----here's a test to see if this'll work from Fotki. OK.............Now I'll try to post this...............
  4. OK, I just attached this pic from my own hard disc, and not from Fotki. I see the box with the drop down menu where you can attach a pic to a post with its URL---------tried that just now from Fotki, and it's still not working. FWIW, I'm on my laptop as opposed to my PC, and the issue remains the same. Here's the pic from my hard disc........... I see it showing up on my end..........let's see if It remains after I hit the "Submit Reply" button. OK, that works........But as Tom mentioned, is there going to be a limit on how many pics one can post using this method? ..................And here's another. Didn't see the "Max Total Size" amount change as of yet.
  5. Ken it seems as though the board is having trouble linking pics. I just tried to post a pic on another thread from Photobucket and Fotki, and neither one would show. Must have just started today, as I had no trouble at all last week posting those Mustang pics. Calling Dave Ambrose!
  6. I just clicked on the initial link you posted and it took me to your Photobucket page. I've been doing a little test on this thread as far as getting pics to show, and NOTHING will show up from different sites! This includes Photobucket, Fotki, Google, etc........... I usually post from FF, but I tried the board on Chrome and am still having the same issue. As I mentioned, it could be the board is suffering from another glitch.........I'm not sure, but there are other threads where pics have been posted and they're showing.
  7. The pic didn't show Doug, but I looked up the URL and it looks pretty neat! I might have printed the entire cowl area with the windshield posts for strength, but it looks pretty good. Seems as though Photobucket and Fotki are having technical issues as I couldn't get your pic to post here..........hmmmm. Or maybe the board is having difficulties?
  8. Yeah, I'm familiar with that neat trick. The difficulty with that is it can change the board's "style" and I have to go back and reset things the way they were. No big deal............I just like the bolder print when it comes to web pages as sometimes when you use that feature, it shifts the page around horrendously, and it becomes a bit of a nuisance. The solution for me is new eyes! In the near future however, I really need to see about getting a new prescription for glasses. I'm way overdue for new ones, and I do know that without 'em I'm legally blind. They tell me without glasses my vision is 20/600, and last I checked that's considered legally blind unless things have changed. Ken, I've had no trouble-----as of last week I posted photos of my WIP '67 Mustang and I had no issues with the amount of pics I posted.
  9. I have talked with Revell in the past about kitting a 48 Ford coupe and sedan from their current 48 Ford tools. Their reply was that those bodies were available in resin. I don't understand a model company that would rather their customers buy a resin body instead of modifying a tool to give us what we want. They have just about everything needed except for the body tooling to make them. I would buy at least 3 of each if Revell offered a stock height 48 Ford coupe or sedan, I still haven't bought one in resin! Not to mention that there are some of us that may NOT want to deal with a particular subject in resin! I can kind of see their apprehension though-------even just to tool up a new body can cost tens of thousands, and with today's economy, they like anyone have to watch every nickle. Still, it would be great to see a new Ranchero from the '57 Del Rio.............. We'll have to wait and see!
  10. Far as I know Curt, you have to manually change the color/font size/style each time you make a post. I use the one you see here simply because the default one I have a tough time seeing. The eyes aren't what they used to be, and this "dresses" things up a bit than the too faint black font.
  11. Lee, I can't comment on security issues for FF or any other browser, but I'm typing this using FF and I've had no major issues with it since they've upgraded. Have you tried maybe uninstalling FF and doing a reinstall? Sometimes that gets rid of any bugs as what was on previously might not have been properly overwritten. I will say that I did have one annoying glitch recently with FF that I had to ferret out------seemed as though for some reason that FF wasn't "remembering" my page theme and setup and each time I'd open it as it would always go to the default appearance. I disabled all of my "Add Ons" and it turned out one of them had a bug, so I got rid of it. This cured the problem and it's been running fine since. You might want to try that on your system to see if that's the bug that ails it. Something else you might want to try Lee...........Go to Tools>Options>History-----make sure that the box is displayed that says "Remember History". If there's anything else that's showing in that box, that could be the reason it's having trouble remembering this site.
  12. Gotta say a good, detailed Javelin/AMX would be a big seller IMO. Just look at what prices are going for on the 'Bay for original promos, and in the case of the AMX-----unmolested original kits. Not that eBay's always a good indicator of future sales, but then who da thunk that a Hudson of all cars would have been such a hot seller for Moebius?? I agree with Tom also about the '64-'66 Barracudas. There's a potential goldmine there in that car as sooooo many variants can be spun off of that!
  13. Mike, I wish I would have taken process pics of reshaping the nose, but I basically cut away the kit grille, and filed the inside of the cavity to give it a more forward slant. Some plastic was added on the back side of the opening to give the grille shell the proper width. The kit's molded in grille is too upright as you can see in this pic here................. Something else about the way they molded the grille and the location holes for the foglights.............to me it appears they sit too low, and not more in the middle per the 1:1. The PE grille I used I believe was intended more for Revell's '68, but with a little work it can be used for this '67. As far as the Ferrari.......that's a '63 330 LMB that I got recently. It'll need some cleanup, and I plan to use bits and pieces from an extra Italeri 250 GTO kit that I have. Might get fancy and see if I can get Norm's V-12 engine------I have one now, but that's for yet another Ferrari subject. With the '59 Chevy I want to get done after I'm through with the Mustang, it'll be a bit before I get to this one. I was cleaning up the body a bit for a break from the 'Stang, and I broke a piece of the vent post. Easy fix for me, and I'll tend to that later. Thanks for asking!
  14. Looks good Tommy! Man, it sure would be nice to see this one come back! I know what you mean about the crazy prices........just for simple items like a single hood for instance can cost more than the price of a brand new whole kit! I'm fortunate that I was able to find a '68 Convertible builtup on the 'Bay for a reasonable price. It's missing a few bits and pieces, but nothing that can't be replaced by resin.
  15. Hmmm.............Chris you might want to try Revell's '66 GTO. It's readily available, and they're both the same scale. Very few if any changes were done from '64-'66, so that should work with some tweaking. You may also want to give AMT's '66 Olds a look........ same chassis as the other divisions and IIRC, they shared the same wheelbase. Of course, sometimes that doesn't mean much in our model world!
  16. Yes, 'tis I! I'll try to beef up the windshield frame (particularly the header) next go round of this kit which would be the '67 Shelby I've had forever. Not putting the firewall in ahead of time (like the instructions say) will be in order too......learned something from that one! Here are a couple more pics.........a side shot-----tried to get rid of the "taildragging" look that plagues this kit. Might try to lower the front end a scooch more. Also I finally got the PE grille in, painted it flat black, and got the fog lights in. The grille fought me too as it's not really meant for this kit, but I was determined to get this one in as the kit molded in one is not correct. Thanks for lookin' all!
  17. Just to show this project isn't dead, here are a few "beauty/teaser" shots. Still have a ways to go, but needless to say, I'm at the beginning of the end for this one! I did wave the white flag on making the front windshield using my usual acetate. Reason is after about five tries with the firewall already in place, the body has to be REAAALLLY spread apart to get everything to fit in. After the fifth time the windshield popped out of place due to the overflexing of the body, I gave in and used the kit windshield. While it's OK.......I still don't like the distortion that it gives, and to me that sticks out like a sore thumb. Anyway, here's what I got so far........not the best pics as I had to use my iPhone-----my digicam needs batteries and I don't feel like going out as it's REALLY hot here in Central PA today! Not sure when the next update will be-------just to whet your appetite that this has NOT been forgotten!
  18. Neat thread! Lessee............I'm eyeing a "grail" on eBay, Moebius's '61 Pontiac is definitely on my must buy list. Held the final shot in my own two hands and it's spot on! There's some import stuff I might be interested in------depends on how bad I want it and if my bank account agrees!
  19. When this kit debuted some ten years or so ago, I had mentioned (on another board) about how the kit appeared to me to have some proportion problems. The "banana" shape seemed that way to me due to the arc of the beltline in relation to the shape of the fenders. The body always seemed "thick" to me as at the time I was building Monogram's '64. Now while that kit is 1/24th, the body lines seemed a bit better to me, albeit the upper window line on the kit is not quite right as it's too straight, and doesn't have the sublte downward slope particularly above the rear quarter window. Revell's '65 Chevelle suffers from this same misshapen upper quarter window as the 1:1 has the same subtle downward arc-------something they got right on the AMT annuals when these cars were new. Snake, it's good that you spotted where to cut the roof as this is one of the problem areas I noticed back when this kit was intro'd. Another issue to me, although this can be subjective from builder to builder, is the C pillar is not "fast" enough. Meaning that the whole C pillar needs to lean forward a few degrees further. No biggie in the end product-------just something that seems "off" to me. Indeed the Chevelle while it had a similar roofline shape to the Pontiac/Buick/Olds, they do NOT interchange, as the Chevelle had the shortest of those roof stampings back then. Even going into the 1966-67 hardtop styling, the Chevelle once again had the shorter of all of the divisions rooflines. Rear backlites they might have shared, but the C pillars are different. 1968-72 was a whole 'nuther world for GM's midsizers......... Just one man's 2ยข.........your mileage may vary! Just too add.........one thing this kit needs badly, is to sit a few scale inches lower when fully built! That would go a long way in "hiding" some of the uprightness the kit suffers from. FWIW, Monogram's '64 suffers from this same problem.........one of the reasons I hate platform interiors as this leads to "stacking", and makes the models sit too high. Real car interiors don't sit on platforms-------they're on the opposite side of what would be the chassis floor. Someone mentioned about Monogram's version being too "boxy".........so was the actual car! 1964 really ushered in the era of boxy, straight lines, especially for the midsize cars. Banished were wraparound windshields and tailfins!
  20. Whoops! I should have been more specific.....my bottle says "70% by volume". Hope all this helps Alberto!
  21. I've used Isopropyl to take off epoxy residue........
  22. I missed you at the meeting. Just thinking like you Bill!!!! Thanks for the comments. I didn't go in to work today for overtime.......wanted a weekend with nowhere to go, and try to get this Mustang done hopefully before months end! Finally!
  23. In a small unseen area on the body (if that's possible), see if the paint will take rubbing alcohol and not remove or smear it. If it's fine, then I'd try that to get the glue residue off. It works for me when I'm trying to get rid of epoxy smears on windshields I make, so it should work on glue residue.
  24. Love it Ron! Those wheelcovers really dress things up!
  25. I would leave it as is. From what I can see it appears that the paint is more than just orange peeled......it looks like whatever the original builder used for paint, it "etched" the plastic. That means they used too hot of a paint and it "burned" itself into the plastic. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me. There's no fixing that other than to strip the whole thing (tough to do with etched plastic), sand down the surface smooth and start over. If it were mine, I'd enjoy it for what it is and leave it alone.
