  1. Very nice and clean! I like it!
  2. Right Virgil! Good prep is the key here............like any other paint job, the results are only as good as the time you take to get the basics right. That's some interesting stuff...........might have to check into that!
  3. Here's a post done a while back that's very detailed on posting pics from Photobucket ............click here to check it out.
  4. A well stocked hobby (or train) shop should carry .010 brass rod. This is nearly hairlike in diameter and is what I use to unplug my Touch 'n' Flow. It's made by K&S and comes in packs of 10 IIRC. Hope this helps--------------having a plugged applicator can be a very frustrating thing!
  5. Very nice and clean! I remember when these were new and they were the hot little thing to have! Don't see many on the road anymore these days unfortunately--------I've been told they were a blast to drive!
  6. Cruz. that is truly beautiful! You know I'd have a real hard time giving that one away!
  7. I built one of these too years ago (sorry no pics), and like others have mentioned.........it can be built well using some patience and time. I thought I had read somewhere that Ford styled its '59 line to accommodate specifically the Skyliner. Just as John mentioned, this was more than likely a cost cutting move as what was done at Chrysler with its '57's and what GM started to do with its '59 offerings. Interesting that Ford only hung on to this body style for one model year just like GM did with its '58's........no doubt trying to catch up with Chrysler as the entire Ford line for '60 were totally different cars!
  8. Well you just don't know what your missing! Speed Racer was one of the "Japanimation" cartoons that flooded the U.S. airwaves in the late '60's along with Marine Boy, Eighth Man, Kimba, Astro Boy, among others. It ran on quite a few cable stations from 1967 till about '78 then disappeared until MTV brought it back sometime in the early '90's. Then of course, there was the live action movie that came out a couple years ago.............that's what the model he's working on is from. Here's a link to Speed Racer on You Tube. BTW, this guy has all 52 episodes of Speed Racer in which I saved all of 'em! Always loved this show as a kid back then, and I can remember getting into arguments with my sister as Speed Racer came on the same time as "Dark Shadows". (Remember that one??) Here's the first episode of Speed Racer for ya James from You Tube! Hey Don! If you can somehow incorporate those red lights to come on when pushing the letter "E" on the steering wheel.............that would be too much!
  9. ???????????????????????????
  10. Here's an informative article on soldering diecast.
  11. Don't know if this is much help, but here are a few pics of a newer (2005 and up) Mustang chassis. Now mind you, the '94 was still mostly Fox chassis based, but I'm sure this is pretty close to how Ford was doing 'em then. Hope this helps!
  12. Welcome aboard John! I see some interesting models in your display case there!
  13. I've got the convertible..........albeit an unpainted built one! HeeHeeHee..............
  14. I'll be watchin' this one too as I'm a HUGE Speed Racer and Mach 5 fan! Have been ever since the cartoon debuted here in Central PA in the fall of '68. Whaaa.............no rear fins?? To me that's what makes the car! I have to admit though I kinda like the "modernized" version of the Mach 5 more than what the comic books and cartoon depicted. The movie version's fins were kinda of odd shaped come to think of it...........should have been more shark like just like the comic book and TV version.
  15. Another thing you can do is "drag" the icons down into the taskbar into the area (lower left side near the Start button) where you see what looks like two little chevrons/arrows. As you're dragging them into this area, you'll see a blue arrow by the icon------let go of the mouse button and now the icon is put into a neat little list. Click on the chevrons and you'll see the program/icon there. I do this as I don't like all the icons cluttering up the wallpaper as well. After I have the icons all dragged into the "list" (Quick Start menu it's called) I right click on the wallpaper>click on view>uncheck the box that says "show all desktop icons"> and then SHAZAM!................I've got a nice pretty picture and not all those icons to muck up the joint.
  16. ..........And the seller has ZERO feedback...........Caveat Emptor!
  17. One other good thing about Future is it's also great for sealing plastic against crazing. Most of the newer kits molded since '04 have been done in a "softer" plastic which is more susceptible to crazing than in years past. Just another FYI from someone who's tried it.
  18. That's a pretty good conversion and one not often seen! As a little kid in the '60's I became very familiar with Corvairs as I had an Uncle who I believed owned every model Corvair that Chevrolet made at one time or another. Lessee..........He had convertibles, wagons, The Greenbriar Van (love to see a model of that!), four doors, two doors, you name it. If it had the name Corvair on it, he owned it somewhere along the line. Unfortunately, my Uncle passed away last year...........he still owned a '66 Monza two door hardtop that he drove only on very nice days until he started taking ill. I don't know what happened to the car............I hope one of my cousins got it and is taking care of it.
  19. Very nice and clean build! I built one of these too a couple years back and found it to be one of Revell's finest! Too bad Chrysler couldn't see fit to keep making the 1:1, and come out with yet another boring SUV. I still see quite a few of them on the roads so they can be had for a reasonable price nowadays............including the Hemi cars.
  20. For those of you who've never tried it, Future (now called Pledge with Future Shine) is another alternative to sealing that nasty red or yellow plastic. What's nice about it is if you mess up, simply spray some Windex, or some diluted ammonia, wash it off and start over. One would need an airbrush or a "sponge brush" to apply it though. Here's an article on the web about Future and how easy it is to use. Just click here and see for yourself. I've used this in the past to seal the red plastic on Monogram's '56 T-bird and the results were great! Believe it or not, this '56 (actually converted to a '55) was once that horrible red plastic which is notorious to bleeding------especially from Monogram! HTH!
  21. I've never heard of Tuesday Morning either in these parts. Hey that was a neat clip..........I remember that song well, but have never heard the extended version!
  22. That would be a '63. Here's a pic of one in question.............. Also the only year of the '61-'63's that had the crease on the front fenders and doors.
  23. Hi,

No I didn't make the Olds kit............that was made by P&P resins. Haven't had much time in the last several months to work on it though. Thanks for asking!

    Bill

  24. Jason that looks good! I'd love to get more done on mine, but I literally don't have the time these days between work and doing computer repair for others in between! Maybe someday.............
