  1. Ahhhhhhhh! That's another passion of mine..............Bell 47 Helicopters----especially the vintage ones from the '50's, like the ones they used in M.A.S.H. I have an old R/C Bell 47 Helicopter that I got off the 'Bay a few years ago. Here's a pic of it hanging from the ceiling in the model room........ The motor runs but it has no servos at the moment. I've been too chicken to install them and try to fly it!
  2. Wow! Now that's an ambitious project! 8)............And you're singin' my tune because I had to do the same thing to a '55 Ford project I was working on in the past. One word of advice though when sectioning bodies like that....................you may want to reinforce the underside of the body with more plastic where you cut it. This will prevent any "shifting" of the bodywork especially as you do more work to the body. It also may be a good idea to grind a slight "trench" in each of the sections you have joined, primer, and then fill those with putty and sand. This will prevent any ghosting that always seems to show up right when you put on those color coats. But what am I saying.................you seem as though you have some good experience at this!! Keep us posted!
  3. Sigh............ If it wasn't for this whole moving thing I had to go through.......I'd be there in a heartbeat! Hopefully next year I can get back down there! Nos vemos!
  4. Word has it that it is based on the recent convertible kit with a new hardtop roof tooled for it. Let's just hope the shape of the roof is right and the rear crown is not "shallow" like their '57.
  5. Jeff that is simply MIND BLOWING!! Fantastic work as usual!!
  6. All of them look great! I really dig that Roadrunner since that's better than the one ERTL put out years ago........Especially body shape wise. 8) Too bad some of those Johan molds are no longer around.............despite mediocre detail they DID have the best shaped bodies of the lot.
  7. AWESOME work!! That Hemi is a knockout!! 8)
  8. Thanks for all the compliments guys! Dave: I was originally gonna go to Connecticut to pick up the models at the musuem.........but the car has to go to the dealer tomorrow due to a cold starting problem. I want to make sure the car is fixed correctly before I take any long trips. I don't want to be so far away and the car doesn't want to start for some reason. I should be there Saturday, since York is only a Hop, Skip and a Jump from me now! I think the starter switch is the problem, as I've found out that other Saturn owners have had the same problem. It only does it when the temps get in the 30's or below.........when the temps warm up, there's no problem like nothing ever happened. :? Go figure........ I have the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that GM put out about the problem so they can't pull a flim-flam!
  9. Beautiful Job Ismael, and I dittto what Lee said! Can you imagine a plastic kit with all the aluminum bodywork and chassis understructure?? I have some photos of Chevrolet building that car back in '57..............It came from a Collectible Automobile issue years ago. It shows a LOT of detail from the engine, to the bodywork opened up showing all the trusses and structure underneath.
  10. Absolutely Gorgeous Builds!!
  11. I spent some time taking the chassis off and grinding down the thick resin................Here's a before and after pic of the car since I did the work........... Before.... After...... Ahhhhhh! That looks better! I wish I could do something more about that ill fitting front bumper, but oh well............this model's not going to set the contest tables on fire.....just sit nice and pretty in its case. Now I can relax................but then there's that next project I'm working on!
  12. Okay, I got it for 5 bucks..........! Definitely a steal!
  13. That is a NICE kit Ken! 8) I have one also..........but to avoid any screaming from you I won't tell you what I paid for mine at my club meeting! And yes, they are hard to find!!
  14. Gorgeous color and excellent build as always Tom!
  15. Irv, I would just post the finished pics in that section. That's what I did with the Buick............instead of continuing the thread as I did months ago............just made a new post with the finished car.
  16. Now that is a beeeeeyoooootiful car Cruz! 8) I need to do a couple Porsche's (356's).............It's been many years since I last built one.
  17. Now watch out Lyle............The Steelton Borough Police are pretty tough and they'll tow that pretty thing away because your facing the wrong side of traffic!
  18. I don't think I'll be able to make the meeting Andy..............I have to get back to Connecticut to pick up my models that were at the "Built to Scale" display at the Stamford Museum that ends today. I ended up missing the display altogether because of having to find a new place. Unfortunately, it may be years before they do the show again.
  19. Finally after being so rudely interrupted by having to move :x..............I finally got this one finished! There are a few small details I need to add yet such as the BMF for the door handles and emblems. I also may add an antennae but I'm wore out from this one for now and want to start something new! Here we go...... The front end seems to sit just a weeeee bit too high, but then the resin on the chassis was very thick.................I may take the chassis back off and then trim the front of it down to get the chassis to sit just a scooch lower. Say CHEEEEEEESE!!! Ready for Take Off!! 1959 style! I learned a few things from this model...............always have an adjustable temp dehydrator for drying the paint! I originally used a dehydrator that wasn't temp adjustable..........and the body suffered some slight warpage which I was able to fix. Nevertheless, I still had some fit problems in the end with the chassis and front bumper. I have since bought a new dehydrator that has a temp control.....and I found that 105° is suitable for resin in a dehydrator. I'm gonna keep my next build somewhat of a mystery 8).........let's just say that it'll be something a lot more modern and it's one of the hottest cars selling today....... Thanks for lookin'!
  20. Beautiful sleeper look Jason! Nothing beats the '69 for classiness..................I can't wait for the '09 to makes it's debut and let the comparisons begin!
  21. Hi Jeff, Here's the info I have on Little Motor Kar Co............... Little Motor Kar Co. 203 Linda Lane Reading, PA 19606 Phone/FAX (610) 779-1462 E Mail: littlemotorkarco@verizon.net Hope this helps!
  22. I spoke to Ray a few weeks ago on the phone and he said that he feels better. He said that he has some catching up to do on the kits but he no longer does any mail order. Steve Kohler sells for him and I have his site bookmarked.........for those interested click here..... I had called to see if he was going to be at our show in Gilbertsville, PA but Ray said that he just can't do the smaller shows anymore......only the larger ones like NNL East, Toledo, Etc.
  23. Okay, this one was built by Paul Hettick, and he did an EXCELLENT job on it! I dug up the auction on the 'Bay where this one was sold and it fetched just over $600!! I thought I saved the pics on CD but nope..........I didn't (I have now!) If you click here you can catch the original auction. Paul does excellent work, and he's one of those that can make pure masterpieces out of R&R's kits!
  24. Yeah, Ray's kits can be a bit of a challenge............but they can be real masterpieces when done! Someone had a fully built one on eBay a while back and got quite a nice bit of change for it........I think I saved the pics off the auction, but I may have them on CD now since I cleaned some things off my harddrive a while ago. I'll see if I can dig them up and post them.
