  1. You got me by two years! The local company I was working for before I started have blood pressure problems hauled cardboard to a few mills around here that was used as edge protector for steel coils. One skid was about 12 feet long, and they had the flatbed just for that, and since I had a little experience from when I drove wrecker with flatbeds, I was the one who almost always pulled it. Of course, I learned that trick of running the strap under instead of over the rails from a couple friends of mine who were full time bedders.
  2. Do you use the Tamiya clear to attach the bezels to the dash, too? I've heard of using clears to attach photoetch, but I've never tried it.
  3. Boy, this looks familiar, I think I seen somepics of this car somewhere else. Nice weathering job, it looks like it spent some time in a cross counrty race behind a cattle trailer or something! BTW, Jared should get the inside joke! Seriously though, Jared, nice job!
  4. I think it looks good, it gets the point across! I like how you got the hook going under the siderail, that's the way the good skateboarders do it!
  5. Truer words have never been said! Just stick to the scale rigs!
  6. I like that link, Mike! I could see a warehouse diorama with some of the forklifts, HMMMM....that gives me an idea! Oh, wait, I had that idea for a long time!
  7. I just had it off the shelf again (you know why Ken ) and it has been almost 6 full days since I sprayed it and just put TWO NEW fingerprints in the roof!!! I'm still trying to find something large enough to put it in so I can drown it in brake fluid, then after I have it stripped, I'm going back to my old stand by, DupliColor!
  8. You got me there! The first pic is a Mack Vision (you should have seen the southbound end of the northbound dog!!) and the load was a power generator oversized load (and yes I had the oversize beacons flashing ) and the other two are a Pete 379 hauling a reefer full of groceries.
  9. You never know, you just might build their NEXT truck before they even buy it!!
  10. That's not an exacto, that's a weapon! I would hate for a friend of mine to get ahold of it, he usually finds a way to cut himself in the dombest of ways. He'd probably cut an arm off or something with a knife that big!!!
  11. I know, but I have some that are both single and multiplayer for the computer, too. I regularly race anline on an online only game called Project Torque, it's a street racing "Fast and Furious" type game, and I also race friends both online and through network on a few others, like NASCAR Sim Racing from EA Sports. By the way, I was just playing some on Extreme Trucker, thought everyone might be intrested in seeing some screenshots.
  12. That is cool, but after you build it, would you have a shelf big enough for it??
  13. I was flipping though the TV listings earlier, there's a couple on at 10 PM eastern tonight, too. I don't think any are new, I have the new ones set to record in my DVR! I never miss one!
  14. There might be one very similar over there, but I just started the game, and the three areas to drive are the Tuktoyaktuk Winter Road, the Yungas Road in Peru, and the Aussie outback. I mainly play on the Tuk road, but I've done the others, too, and the Peru one, I've scraped a truck or two!
  15. I have to agree, Ben, I think a nice hub cover would look better, but I do like the light bar hoop. I think you might be thinking of truck 317 with the sleeper, I think it might be Tryke's truck, but not real sure.
  16. No, all the gaming I do is on the computer. I haven't gotten any 21 century game consoles, all I have is an old Nintendo 64!
  17. By the way, here's the pic I have for my avatar, and my desktop background on both my main computer and my laptop! I found it here: http://www.wreckerdriver.net/photos/ You have to sign up as a member there, but it's no different than signing up here! Also, one little side note, truck #903 is the "Mistress", Joey's truck, and if you look very closely at the top middle of the windshield under the visor in my pic, you will see "Mistress" there.
  18. Thanks, Tom. You said the lacquer thinner cleans "just about" everything, The only paints I use regularly is Tamiya, Model Master, regular Testors (very little), and sometimes Polyscale acrylics, would any other these NOT be cleaned by the lacquer thinner. Also, what is the foot switch for? I'm just wondering, because as I said I don't have a permenant area inside to spray, I have to spray paint outside, and I only have canned propellant for it. I've been wanting to use an airbrush more, and with my current project I have to learn because of all the Alclad I have to spray on it. Right now, I need all the advice I can get!
  19. Well, yeah, I guess I let my rant get the best of me there! I've guilty of doing the same thing, especially to get younger builders or friends started in the hobby. I've also made some parts donations here and there to help other builders finish a project, I kinda sounded a little heartless there! I edited that post and removed the heartless part.
  20. I think that was the version right before "Extreme Trucker", I have almost all the 18 Wheels of Steel games; "18 Wheels of Steel", "Convoy", "Haulin'", "American Longhaul", and, of course, "Extreme Trucker". That's not counting a couple other trucking games and many, many racing games.
  21. Nah, the real feeling is my computer's steering wheel, it has force feedback and a gearshift, plus gas and brake pedals! The next one I want has all that AND a clutch pedal, too, but I don't have the $300 for it! When I play "Extreme Trucker", it feels a lot like it did driving the real things!
  22. Oh, I thought you were talking about the mailbox for your house. I was going to tell you to check out by the street!! I just had to joke a little!
  23. Y'all got computers, right? It's not an online game, but I have one for PC!!! It has the Canadian Ice Road from Invuk to Tuk, along with Aussie road trains and the "Death Road" in Peru. Here's scans on the box. I found it at Walmart for about 20 bucks when it came out, you might be able to find it cheaper now, and it's fun, especially with the steering wheel I have for the computer for racing and driving games.
  24. By the way, yes I want to know where to get the decals!!!
  25. Leo was nice enough to send me the link he found them on: http://www.basketsbythebrowns.com/tcm/2010/June%2010%20Gal/June10Gal.htm The O'hare combo is the 9th set of pictures down, and the big one is 1:25 scale and the little one is 1:87 scale.
