  1. Actually, Ken, I think what Ben was referring to by section of the quote I highlighted about the tiny red dot is how to replicate the Stemco hub in scale. I believe the tiny black circle he is referring to is the clear area of the hub sight window, which appears black with the oil in it. The tiny red dot would be in the middle would be the rubber plug. Now if you have a really small brush and want to super detail it, you could put another black dot inside the red area representing the red plug to represent the weep hole you mentioned!
  2. Now that's funny, I don't care who you are!!!
  3. If you're talking about Eelco's suggestion, scroll down on the main forum page, it's near the bottom in the "Model Trucks" section. It says: Pickups, SUVs, Non-Commercial Trucks For those who like pickups, SUVs, and other non-Big Rig Trucks.
  4. It Italeri's VN 780 (kit #3818). I won this at a show's kit raffle 2 or 3 years ago, but I have seen them on ebay. I believe Italeri also did a VN 660 and also offered the VN 660 in a truck/trailer combo kit. It's a nice kit, the frame is molded in one piece, so no misalignment issues, but does not have an engine or opening hood.
  5. Here's another I use for blank plates, you can't add text like ACME Platemaker, but if you have a photo editting program, you can add text to them in it. http://www.blankplates.com/index02.html These are pics of real plates, but I'm sure if you want a regular state issue plate and not vanity plates, these are the places to go. You would just need to resize in your favorite photo editting program. http://www.moini.net/2home.html http://www.plateshack.com/
  6. Another beautiful build! What did you use for the rollbar padding? It looks very realistic.
  7. If this keeps up, I'm going to need a new keyboard because this one will be destroyed from all the drool!! I can't wait to see this done, you have wonderful skills, Rommell! By the way, are you going to take any pics of it with the 1:1 when the 1:1 is finished?
  8. The rollpan is cooler than no exhaust, and I have a dub dually, too, that was the diecast I mentioned, but it has different style wheels. I like the ones you found! Was your dub a red Chevy crewcab?
  9. That's no problem, I don't have any in progress pics because I did this way before I started posting anywhere, but it wasn't very much to do the modification, anyway! This is the overall look, and I moved the kingpin forward to set the trailer nose more over the tractor's quarter fenders and farther from the rear of the cab. That is just my personal preferences, I set the fifth wheel on the 1:1s I drove the same way so the nose lined up with the quarter fenders. The pen tip here shows where the kingpin was and how far I moved it: I cut the front suspension hangers that were molded (I think, it's been a while ) to the frame and used an old build up of AMT's Freuhauf flatbed suspension as a guide for the U.S. style tandems. I left all the rear suspension hangers where they were. I also used the spoke wheels and tires from the old build up and cut the Euro style taillights off the back, and I'm planning on just making small taillight panels with the round taillights and add some mudflaps to finish the rear. It may not be 100% correct to the prototypes, and it was just modifying the kit's parts to look the way I wanted, but I think it pulled the look off just fine. P.S.: Sorry for all the dust, but I started this about 5 years ago, and that's as far as I ever got truck or trailer!
  10. I'm not sure, but isn't there a way to retract your bid?
  11. At least it sounds like you have some good container experience! I found it is very easy to convert it to a U.S. spec, and if you want, I have a couple pics of my modified one.
  12. I'd like to know, too! I'm split on the custom dually look, I both like and dislike them, I think it's because I have a 1:1 dually built to haul, but a nice custom is nice, too. The roll pan on the back, is that the rear exhaust openings from the Ram VTS truck? The stance looks killer, it sits like a Chevy diecast dually I found somewhere that also has monster wheels like yours. I'm going to be interested in how this one turns out!
  13. By the way, did you build the container box stock or did you modify it? I have one I modified to a more U.S. spec chassis, I didn't really like the Euro spec chassis.
  14. Nice builds, I have the Lone Wolf truck too, that is the one I put the monster sleeper on. The black one, though, is actually an Aeromax 106, and is very similar to the Aeromax 120. I think the cabs are based on the 9000 series on both the models and the real trucks, but the real LTL 9000 is the Lone Wolf, but if I remember correctly, the Aeromax wasn't a 9000 series truck.
  15. I tried polishing cloths and also polishing compound, it dulled the roof, plus I'm getting fed up with the Krylon paint anyway! I think stripping it is my best option so it doesn't fly across the room! I don't know if it would or not, but luckly all the Bondo is in the sleeper! There is no Bondo in the trailer.
  16. I hope their boats weren't shaped like the front end! Isn't that what a truck bed is for!?!?
  17. I thought you would!
  18. I about fell out of my chair laughing at Mark's pic, and I kinda figured maybe you just forgot the "F", Jeff. I seen you found it, and I'm happy I could help.
  19. ^^^^I second that!^^^^ I think it looks great with the KW pulling them, too. Of course, a Mack is a nice idea, too. The company I used to drive for I pulled a 28 footer with a Mack CH600 tandem drive, they made a nice combo. But then again, a nice cabover always looks good pulling pups!
  20. Cool, I'll look for it and I'll be watching for more! I was beginning to think I was the only Earnhardt fan here!
  21. I wasn't even aware of that, but I know it tends to make the strap tighter.
  22. Nice looking build! It's nice that you built one of Buckshot's cars. I couldn't help but notice your avatar pic, though. WHERE ARE YOUR EARNHARDT BUILDS?!? I know that if you're as big a fan as I am, you have to have a few!
  23. Could you be meaning the FOX Chassis Build for fox chassis Fords? If that is the one your looking for, here's the link! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30265&st=0
  24. Easiest way to both prevent and remove goof ups at the same time is use Elmer's white glue or any other white glue that dries clear for your windows. I have used both Elmer's school glue and Testors window glue (that looks the same as school glue) for windows for many years and have no problems with it. If you get some on the window itself, it will wash off with water.
  25. Was that a Busch Series car, because I don't ever remember seeing it or hearing of Stevie Reeves? I always enjoy seeing you classic NASCAR builds, even though I don't comment on all of them. Your work is great!
